Become More Productive And Stop Procrastinating Working From Home

by Christopher Stigson

If you were a person working from home, you would agree that time is money and you just cannot afford to be non-productive. Especially with so many distractions along the way, it is difficult to spend your valuable hours in earning income from home. Here are some effective ideas on how to increase your personal productivity while working from home.

Rise and shine, because starting early in the morning is great

Being a family man working from home you’d know this is important. If you get up 2-3 hours eariler than usual, odds are you’ll find you get a lot more done, simply because of less distractions, the ability to plan and schedule tasks and there are no phones ringing. On top of all these benefits, you are well rested and have lots of time to organize, which is the key to increase productivity.

Get a daily and a weekly planner. You want to know all your activities for the whole week. If you get this type of simple investment you’ll save yourself tons of time and money, by never missing another doctors appointment. You simply can’t mess up.

Prepare a daily checklist

It is not possible for a normal human being to remember so many things. Writing down important matters would help you get things done on time. As and when you complete each of the tasks for the day, you might cross them off your list. You would be able to focus on things you need to do instead of trying to remember what needs to be done. A checklist is also a great way to accomplish several tasks in a day.

Self-Motivate yourself

There are thousands (if not more) books on this subject. In order to complete your daily tasks and big picture goals you need to stay motivated, so keep self-motivating yourself. If you don’t have cartoons or mission statements then getting daily inspirational quotes in your inbox is another way to remind yourself of success!

Make use of Office Automations

We live in an internet oriented world now. Automation is easier than ever. It’s easy to speed up tasks and let bots, robots and software do most of the work you usually do. Time is money and automating tasks definitely reduces your time spent and increases productivity as well as save time and energy. You should learn how to use the internet, web 2.0, chats, e-mail and thing like this to speed up your workprocess tenfold. And don’t forget to rest.

You should try to get a break after about 2 hours of activity. Let it be 10-20 minutes, where you can spend time with family, read your e-mail or read your favorite magazine, just to relax. Remember to keep an eye on the goal and don’t take too long rest, that will likely put you off and get you off-track.

Use these simply, but effective tips to get more done from home. Now you can’t complain about not having any time to do things. People around you will start to ask where all this sudden productivity came from, since they knew you as a procrastinator before!
