Creating A Backdrop for Your Convention
If you ever need to develop an eye-catching backdrop for a trade show display, marketing presentation, or conference platform, you will want something that is not only appealing and attractive, but also a system that can be easily put up and taken down, and that is cost effective. You will probably also want something with a lot of versatility that can be employed in virtually any venue, and where updating the content will be easy and inexpensive. Here are some choices.
1. Standard PopUp Display
The classic popup display with a collapsible frame and graphic panels is still the most popular type of backdrop. A typical display measures either 8′ or 10′ in width by about 8′ high. If you look at what is behind the podium at most conventions, special event, or announcement, you’ll usually spot a standard graphic popup display. This is especially the case if the event is short-term or a traveling event such as an election campaign that has to move quite frequently from place to place.
The collapsible structure of a popup display is generally crafted from fiberglass or aluminum tubing. The structure is wrapped with prepared display panels. The panels are either materials which are specially treated to accept velcro-ready graphics or the panels themselves are printed graphics which are attached directly to the frame. Graphic panels are usually made from a lexan material such as Duralex, and are printed in full color and finished by laminating or otherwise coating them for protection.
Before the frame is made to “popup” it comes folded down to a unit approximately 8″ square by 30″ wide. When it is unfolded, the frame “pops up” to a skeleton approximately 8′ (or 10′) wide by about 8′ high. This frame normally weighs about 15 lbs. and is stable enough to just sit on the floor without any anchoring or external support.
The panels that cover the frame are about 30″ wide by 8′ high. They are normally adhered to the frame by means of magentic strips applied to their back surface. Once the panels are applied to the frame the display gains even greater stability. When they are taken off the frame, the panels are flexible enough to be rolled up so they fit in the lightweight carrying case. The carrying case also serves as a shipping case.
2. Fabric Wall Popup Display
The fabric showcase is a spin off of the popup. It contains the same type of folding frame as the standard popup showcase. But it does not require the extra graphic panels, or a method of attaching them to the frame.
Rather, the fabric graphic features a specially printed fabric graphic that is pre-attached to the frame. To set it up all you have to do is to remove the unit from its case and extend it upward until it is fully unfurled. As it expands, the long-lasting, beautifully-printed fabric will stretch out smoothly. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
Similar to regular popup displays, fabric displays also come in 8′ and 10′ widths. They are also available in narrower 4′ widths that can be used where space is at a premium.
A fabric display, also known as a fabric wall, is basically a billboard-in-a-bag and is easily transported by folding it up and placing it in a lightweight carrying case. A single person can usually set up or dismantle a fabric display in less than 5 minutes.
Companies utilize fabric displays for many different types of marketing events. Fabric displays use a process called dye-sublimation for printing the fabric graphic. This process tranfers the color directly into the fabric. The resulting printed product is extremely sharp and bright. The printed graphic is also surprisingly stain and scuff resistant and lasts a long time.
3.Fabric Banner Backdrop with Adjustable Frame
Whether you need to dress up a trade show space, a podium background or a stage for a convention or conference, or even for a sales presentation, the Fabric Banner Backdrop is the perfect inexpensive way to create a graphic backdrop.
The adjustable tubular frame of the fabric banner backdrop ranges in width from 3′to 8′ wide, and between 4′ and 8′ high. There are other larger frame options, but the fully extended 8′ x 8′ is the most popular model.
A one-piece fabric banner printed in full color is hung on the frame using pole pockets at both the top and bottom, while the frame rests on the floor. Though this method is slightly more complicated to put together than a popup made of fabric, the costs are cut nearly in half. It’s also more dynamic than the other banners because the size of the frame is adjustable and the printed banner can be changed fairly easily if you need to modify what it says or how it looks.
Don’t you dare buy a fabric popup display until you see our prices and fantastic image quality. Ideal for your conference, convention, sales presentation, band, or trade show booth. SEO strategy works.
