If you’re merely just browsing the Internet or have a website online, guess what? You will need traffic! Let me give you the definition of Web traffic. The Internet is like a freeway with many lanes and these lanes represent networks people use while online.

Comcast, MSN, AOL, Qwest and many more networks are the lanes of the Internet highway. Now the millions of cars on this highway are people. These people are looking for favorable exits which are websites and weblogs. And your goal is to make your exit look more favorable to attract as many cars as you can.

I’m going to show you how to increase online traffic free. So what I mean is I’m going to show you how to make your exit more visible so more cars will see it and decide to choose your exit 1st. If you have no understanding of “keyword optimization!” This can cost you big bucks.

I’m not claiming to know everything or to be the only one with the Holy Grail on how to increase online traffic. But I will show you a simple nontechnological technique to draw FREE targeted prospects to your website. I will keep this short and simple due to time limitations I leave my contact information for more detailed questions.

The majority of this information is for affiliate marketers because this is what I do, sale affiliate products. There is usually no startup cost, you receive a free affiliate website, and ClickBank.com has thousands of great products worth selling, check them out.

If you have a large advertising budget, it’s okay to purchase paid advertising. But this is normally not the case for the beginner affiliate marketer. You see saving time and money is the main objective of the affiliate marketer. Our goal is to advertise effectively for free.

If you are familiar with Pay-Per click advertising which is effective but costly. Visit: Enhanced.com or AdWords.google.com for more pay-per click information. But our main purpose is to get free visitors to your website.

Now your plan should begin with the proper (keywords) for the product you’re trying to sale. Example: if you’re selling apples your main or primary keyword should be apples. But this keyword is too general meaning competitive. Because there are literally thousands of people selling apples online. As a beginner you must work your way to the top.

Starting from the bottom with “low traffic” or noncompetitive keywords is your goal. You would want to use a keyword which describes your “primary” keyword. Let’s use: “shiny little red Apple”. This describes your primary keyword apples.

You can find search tools online revealing the type of (apples) keyword searches people are looking for. These free tools show you exactly what people are typing into Google, Yahoo and Alexa search engines. When looking for apples. If you want to increase online traffic a tool called freekeywords.Wordtracker.com is a tool you’ll need.

Or simply type the words “free keyword tools” in any available search engine. Using these tools type in the name of the product you’re selling to see what keywords people are using to locate your product. Then analyze these keywords starting from the BOTTOM.

These are generally called (Long tail keywords). Remember your website success to increase online traffic is all about effective keywords. For more detailed information about the effective use of keywords please visit: goodkeywords.com they have free tools and information.

Now that you have competitive keywords for your product, you want to change your affiliate website URL link to match your primary keyword. We identified (apples) as your primary keyword in the above example.

Now affiliate links do not look pretty. These links are designed to credit you for your sale of a particular product. ClickBank.com affiliate links look like this: http://candyc77.apples.hop.clickbank.net my tracking affiliate code is candyc77. I get paid through this code.

By going to this website: http://www.shorturl.com and paying only $1.88 for the entire year; your affiliate website can look like this: Apples.2fortune.com this looks more professional to your prospects.

Now by following all of my above advice and using the proper (long tail keywords) for your product; let’s find the best traffic vehicle to push your new affiliate website higher in search engine rankings. And this vehicle is a web blog better known as Web log. You can get this free powerful website booster at: www.blogger.com or WordPress.com.

I don’t have time to explain the awesome advantages of using a Web blog instead of a website promote your affiliate products. The RSS feed advantages are tremendous and you can learn more at whatever Web blog site you choose to join above.

Just remember it’s easy because it’s already installed and search engines LOVE RSS feed. Now once your new blog is set up you want to talk about your affiliate product using your primary, secondary and Long tail keywords.

Remember to target your longtailed keywords beginning at the BOTTOM and working your way to the top using your keyword search tools. In the above example your primary keyword was apples; which is to competitive even though it identifies your product. “Candy apples” your secondary keyword is still to competitive in the beginning. To increase online traffic you must use longtail keywords which are less competitive in the beginning.

As I stated earlier (Long tail keywords) are phrases with 3 or more words in the phrase. You have a smaller audience using Long tail keywords; but this is where you start for free search engine traffic.

Now with the pleasing URL: Apples.2fortune.com you received from the website: http://www.shorturl.com which disguises your ugly affiliate website link: http://candyc77.apples.hop.clickbank.net which is now plugged into your new weblog. In your blog, describe your affiliate product using your longtail keywords. You will have the competitive edge to increase online traffic using a Web blog, a .com website URL, and long tail keywords.

Now if you really want to increase online traffic once your web blog is up and working and you are making posts daily or weekly. Visit: http://www.technorati.com this website keeps track of ALL web blog’s. By clicking on blog on their website you can view the blog’s that are related to yours. Learning from others is always an advantage. Don’t forget the homework of studying the above websites I gave you.

Find your market and see what others are talking about! There you have it, this is a general guideline, due to time constraints. But if you follow these simple procedures you will see a increase in online traffic. Again using good Long tail keywords and a Web blog will give you an advantage.
