In any food establishment, menus and its presentation is a highly noticeable thing because it is being given directly to customers, or being displayed outside the store. Pretty and interesting covers should not fail to grab attention to avoid the possible loss of customers.

Menus as well as how it was presented, are one of the first noticeable things in a restaurant because it is being handed directly to customers or for some, it is displayed outside their premises. Failing to catch attention using beautiful and interesting covers can result to loss of customer.

The location sometimes outshines the establishment, as shown by customers who can remember the location where the restaurant is situated instead of its name. This should be taken seriously because once the restaurant transferred to a new site, people will simply look for another place to eat instead of following the establishment to its new location. Though the food tastes better compared with others, customers will have a hard time to promote the restaurant to their friends because they cannot remember its name. To avoid similar problems, owners should learn how to use menu covers to increase sales.

Covers leave a lasting impression to customers. Untidy packages yield the feeling of unprofessionalism and lack of cleanliness, aside from driving customers away. To avoid such scenarios, owners should be aware on how to increase sales using menu covers.

Preference for Logo or Name Logos serve as the restaurant banner. Customers can distinguish one store from the other by referring to their logos instead of their name. Having this in mind, the owner should include the logo in every page of the menu or at least, in its front cover, to make it visible for customers.

Font Style Uniformity Though covers can go for various themes for every branch, they should still follow uniformity in their letters and font sizes. Generally, a menu uses three typefaces for the heading, general texts, and highlighted sections.

Localized Cover Designs Diners often encounter food establishments with several branches as they travel from one place to another. This should be maximized by the owner in giving them different theme compared with their other branch, because it does not necessarily mean that each branch should follow the same motif and be monotonous.

Contents Layout Some customers get pissed off with unorganized layout and irrelevant contents. Irrelevant contents like French Fries description saying ?fried potato cut in bite-size strips? should be avoided because customers know what a French Fries is. Instead, the content should focus on unfamiliar items, house specialties, and best-sellers for better profit. Layout should also be considered carefully so that profitable items can be easily seen. Customers typically scan the menu in a reverse ?Z? manner, starting from the upper right down to the lower left portion of the menu.

Back Cover and Other Enclosures Pictures of ordinary customers enjoying their food, or families bonding together over a pizza are a good thing to be placed in the back cover. This is to show that the restaurant can serve well to diverse clientele. Business information like addresses and contact details are also a good idea for back covers. Customers might take note on this for future reservations. Owners can also place enclosures like surveys at the back for them to have an idea for further improvement.

Owners can experiment on different ideas to improve sales through menu covers. But they should not forget the main philosophy of having a food business, and that is to provide great food and excellent customer service.
