This is something kind of new and is working for now until Google bans the companies offering this service. I’d say use it while it works my friend!

Sites using Billboards are noticing significant rank increases. One site recorded the following…

Over the last 3 months, we have added about 20 unique billboards … We did about 2 per week, and every week we would see position moves of 1 – 2 positions. This is an extremely effective tool because it gives you relevant backlink content on different IP’s. Take the time to write good article/news stories and plug your company or product. This technique will pay off. Don’t believe me? pick an obscure term without competition, and put up 2 – 5 billboards using the term as anchor text through-out your BB’s and you will see position moves within 4 weeks.

The use of Billboards is currently a very good way to get your website relevant positioning in a shorter period of time and you can do so for reasonable fees. You only need to pay for Billboard space on another’s IP for 30 days, by then the search engine will have found you. Make sure the IP is spidered by all the major search engines regularly. After 30 days, you can remove your page and go on to the next IP. Keep doing this and you will build a repository of text rich backlinks to your own domain. Very yummy search engine food!

3. Text Link Advertising

Text link ads are very affordable for those not wanting to dedicate all the time it takes to getting relevant backlinks. Okay, here’s what I think is the best strategy with regards to buying text links. Most likely that PR8 website isn’t going to get you any higher placement than the PR4-PR6 will. That’s my opinion, others will disagree. My own testing is showing Google really doesn’t pay much attention to their own PR system … who knew?!

So, buy links that are PR4-6 and don’t pay over $25 for them … unless of course they happen to be mine … lol. Here again, I’d recommend you use Linkworth and use their set of tools to determine the worth of any link you might be considering … those tools will even help you with domains that aren’t in the Linkworth repository … hint, hint!

These types of one-way links will really help your placement. If you can get one-way links from other sources for free, go for it and make sure they have better PR than you do!

4. Content Development

Well now here’s a novel idea, the more content you ad to your website, then better your rankings will be … and go one step further, you must do so on a consistant basis … like every two weeks ad a new page.

Ad pages with 250-500 words of relevant content and relevant links.

And, this is really important … make sure all your webpages have different content by at least 40%. Google is so smart it actually knows if you’ve got the same page up on the domain … and it knows if you’ve got the same domain mirrored on other domains. You have to do the work!

5. Menu Structure

Make sure the search engines can easily spider every page on your website. I prefer to hard code all my links … including the domain name info. Taking short-cuts only hurts you.

Make sure you use keywords in your menu links and make sure the search engines can easily follow your links from the top level to the second their third levels.

6. Website SEO

Use the H1, H2 tages and relevant keywords through out the site. Keep keyword density around 2-5% … going over will cause you to drop in the ranks. I speak from experience on that one.

7. Schedule Regular Updates

Like I said, you must consistently add new content to your website to keep the search engines well feed and happy. You must get down and dirty and do this part, if you don’t … those purchased links aren’t going to help you get all the way there.

8. Hurry Up and Wait

It takes time to make all these things happen and with each step you have to sit back and see what result it had, if good then you step again. It’s like a chess game … really think about your next move and you can get to the top.

4. Link Exchange.

Link exchange is relatively easy way to build links. Send an e-mail to related sites and ask them to include your link, most likely they will ask you to link back to them. Some sites practice this and have ready links to embed in your site before you ask them for a reciprocal link. Reciprocal links may not have much value for Search Engines but they could be useful. For a certain period of time you should gain 5 links from other related sites (in the same category). This strategy seems very easy. But there are some buts. There are only 10 categories you can join. You have to wait too long for the first links to come. The process is fully automated so there is possibility for abuse from some users. You have to be careful to whom you link; otherwise you can get penalized from the Search Engines. (Outgoing links are important, Incoming links can’t hurt you) If you are lucky you could get high quality links in about 6 months. If you are not, leave the program.

6. Review Products and Sites

If you buy a product from Amazon.com review it there. Write something like: “I liked it very much” or something like that. Don’t forget to include your link in the review. See how others are doing that. You could review any products you bought (or not) at ePinions.com Review related sites on Alexa.com. Don’t rely only on these sites because reviews carry quality one-way links valuable for search engines. These links can also bring targeted visitors.

7. Submit and syndicate Articles.

This is the easiest way to gain free, high quality links. If you think you can’t write an article just see what and how other people did it. I bet you can do it better. Write an article related to your topic and submit it to Article sites like : EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com and iSnare.com. At the beginning submit your articles manually at as many as possible Article submission sites. Later, you can learn to use automated submission. Writing and syndicating articles is not only great for a Search Engine purposes but also will bring in targeted visitors.

8. Buy Text Link Ads

How do I find the PageRank of a Web Page? Well, PageRank is a score from zero to ten that Google assigns to a particular web page. The PageRank denotes the importance of the site in the eyes of Google and is determined by several factors, including the number of other important pages that are linking to that web page.

The higher the amount of important pages linking to a web page, the higher its PageRank or PR.

To find out the PageRank of a web page you need to download the Google Tool Bar, just search Google for this.

If you already have a Google Tool Bar but it does not have a PR button you may need to uninstall your old Google Tool Bar and install the new one.

Once you have the PageRank Button you can check out the PR of all your web pages and the pages of your competitors etc. If you see that one of your customers or suppliers sites have a good PageRank try and get them to link to you.

On average, if you have a PageRank of 2 you are doing well.

As you get more incoming links your PR should go up.

Please also bear in mind that your current PageRank is only a snap shot in time, it may be weeks or months before it changes, but it doesn’t mean Google won’t improve your rankings just because your PageRank is not increasing.

I have many web pages that appear on the 1st Page of Google that don’t even have a PageRank. This is because I have all the SEO methods in place like Page Title, Keywords, Inlinks, and so on.

If you are talking with other people who are working on SEO (search engine optimization) to drive highly targeted business opportunity leads to their web site, there seems to be a lot of confusion in regards to whether or not it actually “helps” in achieving good Page Rank. As a matter of fact, you can go to Google, dredge up the technical information on the subject, and Google will tell you that getting a high Page Rank does not do much for your SEO. Why am I referring to Google? Because they are the only search engine that employs Page Rank.

Even those who work for Google tell you there is a lot of misconceptions in regards to it and that we should not lean on it to get top search engine placements.

Why is it I disagree with the experts? What exactly is Page Rank?

For the most part, Page Rank is just a measurement, another algorithm that gives your web site a number based on the quality and quantity of links pointing to your site. I do not want to get into the fine details of how these values are established. You can look that up at Google. What I want to get into is the “meat” of the matter.

If you were to download the Google toolbar, it will show you what the Page Rank of your web site is. That is really not a solid indicator though. Google is looking at what is called your “Raw Page Rank”. This number can grow very large and changes all of the time. There are many algorithms that take place constantly to determine Page Rank, not just link quantity and quality. The numeric value that can be achieved though ranges from 1 to 10.

Your Page Rank is determined by numerous algorithms and Page Rank by itself is just one of many numerous algorithms that Google uses. By itself, it really does not mean that much.

So, Google was right in saying that Page Rank is not that important by itself. I do not think so!

It “does” help you in your SEO!

Let me briefly explain and chop down what Google does to come up with their data.

They use what is called parallel processing in which hundreds if not thousands of computers have a process (program) running on them that queries servers on the internet. They come to your web site periodically to do what they call a “fresh crawl”. The frequency in which they come to your site is determined by how “active” your site is. They garnish the content from these sites and index them. They pull the embedded links from those pages and go to them later on polling them. This process goes on and on and never stops.

Occasionally, they will do what is called a “hard crawl” and query all sites for specific keywords there after compiling all of the information and ranking the pages.

Where do they start with this process?

They begin with your higher Page Rank sites as these sites are typically your largest and most active on the internet. That process of webcrawling spreads out from these locations first.

If that is the case, then having a high value of Page Rank does several things.

They would crawl your site more often based on your Page Rank as they are working their way down from the highest Page Rank sites down to the smallest and they would end up crawling your site more often and probably deeper.

In other words, Google likes sites with higher Page Rank values. Better than sites with low Page Rank value. Makes me want to get higher Page Rank for my sites. That is for sure!

Another reason I am still not sure about but I believe will be important is that Google used to use Alexa rankings for determining factors. I believe they have gone away from this and are now using their own Google Analytics. I have to some digging into this subject but I believe that Page Rank becomes for significant with them doing this.

You all know that Google PageRank is the formula that determines how important a webpage is. According to it, sites with higher PR rank higher and have more authority than others with a lower PR.

Normally, when someone is looking for a domain to buy, he or she is interested in getting one that has a page rank. Finding such domains was rather difficult not long ago. Can you imagine what one had to do in order to find an expired domain with a PR? It used to be a long and boring if not tiring process. First you had to download a list of thousands of expired domains, select the ones that were interesting and feed them into an automated PR valuator to see which of them still had a valid PR. Too much work for nothing as very few came to meet one’s need.

Fortunately, several new websites have been launched to make this a lot easier for anybody who is after expired domains with PR. Expired Domain Up! A very serious problem that usually arises when you are on the verge of purchasing an expired domain with PR is the fear that the page rank of that domain is not real. I think you are entitled to be cautious. Not even the Google system is a sure way to validate page rank and you might buy less than what you want at a very high price. When sellers advertise their domains, they will not always tell the naked truth to the potential buyers and there are quite a number of con artists out there on the web. In order to be sure that you are buying a domain with a real PR you should use one of those fake page rank checkers (sem-faq.com and seologs.com are two of them) not a regular checker. They will determine the PR and will also tell you whether it is a fake one.

Next you had better check the back-links too. Most expired domains still hold their PR if they have top-notch back-links that are relevant to your search. However, webmasters usually remove back-links if the content is no longer relevant. Besides the back-link checker from seologs.com, you can use iwebtool.com which is also very reliable. You may even use both if you want to feel safer.

There is one last check needed before purchasing the domain that you want so as to determine the validity of the PR. Type: info: [the name of your domain] plus extension but not the www. If you get at least one exact result in the index, there is a good chance for the PR to be valid.

In our previous articles we have spent significant time discussing page rank and SEO. In regard to page rank there are several things that affect your ranking. It’s possible to make improvements both internally and externally. I have found that the most important factor that affects page rank is backlinks.

Lastly, if you use all these methods to increase your SEO and page rank, you will see results very quickly. Sometimes it may take longer than expected due to something called the Google Sandbox. I will explain the sandbox and describe its purpose in future articles so stay tuned!
