There are basically three words that can describe spam accurately: desperate, manipulative, evil. While that may sound like the resume of some soap opera villain, it rings true for every one of us who have ever been burned by spam. Spam is an example of why sometimes, the means does not justify the end.

True, the aim is to build buzz for your blog but the technique used is just plain wrong. If you’re planning on leaving spam comments on other websites any time soon, know that it’s not the way to promote your blog. On the contrary, you might even do damage to your blog without knowing it.

Understanding spam comments

Spam comments started sprouting their evil seed when online guestbooks began appearing on websites. Unscrupulous site owners and marketers bombarded these guestbooks with links (many even used purely links) back to the spammers’ websites. If any comment is included at all, it may contain highly generic ones such as ‘cool post’ or ‘great website’ or ‘nice page’.

Spam appears in just about anything these days, including blogs, often in the form of a comment. How this is done is quite simple. Any blogger who wishes to promote his blog can simply write down keyword-heavy texts in the guise of a comment and then post it at random on another blog or website. Sites that allow hyperlinks to be displayed are usually the prime targets.

The problem here is that this type of commenting is not purposeful at all. It’s done at random, similar to throwing darts at a huge dartboard while wearing a blindfold in the hopes of hitting something, anything.

Why spam commenting will not work for you

Leaving spam comments to promote your blog may seem tempting enough but it’s best to avoid it. That is, if you want to be taken seriously and see your blog last long enough for your grandchildren to appreciate. Here are reasons why leaving spam comments to promote your blog are NOT the way to go:

You’re being watched

These days, you spam someone once and you’ll be branded for life. Or at least the blog or business you’re trying to promote will be. The CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 makes sure spam is controlled and no one can wave it around like a weapon.

Becoming associated with spam is bad news for your blog. People hate spam… period. They will be more than happy to report you to your host provider or even your affiliate companies and avoid your blog altogether. And yes, Akismet and a host of other plug-ins designed to fight spam will be watching.

You will be penalized

By leaving spam comments on another website with the sole purpose of promoting your blog, you give that website’s owner the permission to become a witness against you. Your host provider will cut off ties with you and if you’re using your blog to promote an affiliate’s products, even your affiliate will drop you.

Should this happen, you will have to start all over again, from square one, with a tarnished reputation. If you leave more spam comments in the future, you’ll only be repeating the cycle all over again, all to your detriment.

You’ll be seen as unprofessional

Leaving spam comments to promote a blog is for the lazy, the uninformed and the desperate. Why else would you use a technique that is generally viewed as unsavory? If you’re unprofessional, your visitors will find it difficult to trust you ever again.

You’ll be violating certain unwritten codes

The reason why comments are allowed in websites is to provide people a platform with which to interact. Blogs, forums and discussion boards are large meeting places, open to people regardless of their age, sex, location or personal beliefs, with the implicit agreement that those who participate will be respected for their beliefs.

By leaving spam comments on these sites mainly to promote your blog, you break this code of trust.

Leaving spam comments can increase your blog’s ranking… artificially

Although an artificial increase in ranking can mean good news for your blog (it will allow your site to appear high in search engine rankings), this is only an initial effect, sort of like anesthesia. Soon, it will wear off.

This is particularly true if your blog has nothing else to offer. Visitors who have been driven to your blog through search engine links (which you were able to achieve artificially) will sniff around your site and if they find nothing there, they’ll leave soon enough, never to come back.

Worse, word might even get around that your website is filled with nothing but air. If you must promote your blog this way, make sure you have the content to make visitors stay.

If you have a blog, then you can count yourself among the thousands of other people on earth who have a blog, who can sell their products and services online, and who find ways to network through friends, former classmates, relatives, even acquaintances, in order to make more money. There are thousands upon thousands of blogs on the Internet right now, and you will need to shine through the muddle of language, or, at the very least, be known to a few well enough in whatever niche you choose to place yourself.

One way for you to establish your audience is to actually have a niche that you proclaim yourself to be in, and one way for you to do this is to place your blog address in a blog directory. You also have the pick of the litter: you are not limited to placing your blog in a single directory, which is advantageous if you consider how these blog directories have their own audiences whom you might lose if you aren’t meticulous enough.

If you are interested in submitting your blog to a blog directory, make sure that your blog is ready for the viewing. Do not simply place your blog address and then expect people to read half-baked essays, poor stories, or no entries at all. Have a lot of good content to welcome your new and current readers. Moreover, be aware of exactly what keywords your blog will have.

This means that you will have to go through your content, and then evaluate what keywords to use, so that you can properly categorize your blog and then provide the right keywords if the blog directory service asks for it.

Here are some blog directories that you may want to consider when you are finally ready to sign your blog up.

1. Blog Catalog (http://www.blogcatalog.com) allows you to not only place your blog into a category. It also shows which categories are the most popular, so that you can be better guided as to what market has the biggest readers. Through blog catalog, you can join discussions and form or join groups.

2. At Blog Hub (http://www.bloghub.com), you can add your blog and chat at a forum, chat with your fellow bloggers, and get news on affordable web hosting services, as well as other articles that might be of interest to you. Blog hub also offers information on how to use services to monetize your blog.

3. You can also add your blog to the directory at Blog Hint (http://www.bloghints.com), where you can view the latest blogs added, the most popular, and the highest rated. Blog Hints will even suggest a category for your blog, and you can access some Wordpress themes if you are using that service. There are many different blogs in this directory that you can search through. The blogs are also arranged in folders that are readily visible on the front page of the site.

4. At Blogging Fusion (http://www.bloggingfusion.com) you can also readily view the available categories, and you can even get your blog featured. There are also available blog ratings systems and popular blogs lists for you to browse.

5. Another directory is Blog Flux (http://dir.blogflux.com) where you can look through an alphabetical directory, see featured blogs, and see the latest updates to blogs listed in the directory.

There are over a million blogs now online, and there are thousands and thousands of readers who have to sift through all the intellectual and creative sedimentation in order to find the things that they would like to read. After all, there are as many tastes and thoughts as there are people on the planet, and having a blog can be a bid for anyone to be heard. If you have a blog, surely you’ve had dreams of making it big in the blogosphere and of getting people to read your work no matter where they are in the work. In order to do this, however, you will need to find ways to promote your blog.

Thanks to the power of technology and the Internet, you have a lot of techniques to choose from when it comes to promoting your blog. For one, you can post on forums that have topics that are related to your blog, and that have members who might be interested in the things that you have to say. Another way that you can promote your blog is through posting on mailing lists: you can extend help to people who you know can benefit from your expertise, or you can simply join a mailing list where people share your interests.

One more way for you to make more people come to your side of the bloggin universe is to add your blog to blog directories.

In the same way that Google indexes individual websites and puts them under the right keyword, so can you add your blog to an online blog directory. The blog directory is a great way for you to get noticed. By placing your blog under certain categories or keywords, and by placing it in a place that can be searched, and where individual entries can be categorized and filtered according to topic, you can get more readers – and not just casual readers who are passing through, but those who actually may share your interests.

How do you get your blog onto online blog directories?

There are many different directories available, and you will need to find one that not only offers free listing – there are many of these, so you need not worry – but those that will allow you to gain the most visibility. Moreover, you are not limited to a single blog directory: try placing yourself in about four or five, as there are readers and browsers that often stay loyal to a single blog directory. This technique may allow you to spread yourself farther, and faster.

Before you enter your blog onto an online directory, make sure that you know exactly what your blog keywords are.

These will be required when you register your blog site. You do not want to put down random keywords in an effort to get your blog noticed anywhere and everywhere. You know what it feels like to stumble onto a website that has absolutely nothing to do with your search term, so imagine what a blog reader would feel when he or she finds your blog but isn’t interested in its content!

Don’t turn potential readers away!

In the same way, make your content readable and worth going back to. There are many blog writers out there who do not even spell properly or write with sense, and you do need to set yourself apart from the rest. Make sure that your blog is ready for the world before you put it on a blog directory.

These are only a few tips that you may want to take note of before you start putting your blog down in a blog directory. For more information, go through the About and FAQ sections of blog directories to see what rules you need to follow, and the extent of the reach of the directory. With good planning and good keywords, not to mention good content, you will succeed in blogging.

Branding is big business. Companies actually use a significant amount of their budget simply to build and fortify their brands. Brands identify a product and are used by consumers to associate a company with a specific business or service. When you’re marketing online to promote your blog or your business, easily one of the most effective means to build your brand is using an e-mail signature, one that will identify you and associate you with a specific type of service or information.

What exactly is an e-mail signature?

An e-mail signature is an identifier that you will usually include at the end of every e-mail message, article, post or thread that you send or publish online. It includes your name, your company, the title of your blog or website, its address and other contact information about you.

The e-mail signature is equivalent to a real world business card – its main purpose is to introduce you to visitors and readers and to provide them with a means to get in touch with you or find their way to your blog. It’s easy to set up and better yet, you can use it a thousand times each week and still not spend a single cent.

How important is an e-mail signature? Consider the posts in blogs, articles and comments that marketers and bloggers often leave online and on all those e-mails you receive. At the bottom, you’ll find the ubiquitous e-mail signature with a short description of the blogger and their contact information.

Click on the link provided and you’ll be brought to that blogger’s little space in the Web. Without a signature, it will be difficult indeed for anyone to locate that blogger’s URL or at least go through the trouble of seeking him out actively in search engines.

Writing a good and effective e-mail signature for your blog

Promoting your blog can be done in small yet effective steps. One of these is by using an effective e-mail signature. Here’s how to write an e-mail signature that will work for you and create buzz for your blog at the same time:

Check the e-mail application or program you’re using

Most e-mail applications popular today have a tool that allows you to set up your own e-mail signature. This tool will then automatically add your signature to every e-mail you send out.

Check your e-mail program for this tool. In Windows Mail or Outlook, for example, writing a good e-mail signature can be performed in just a few minutes with a few simple clicks. Use the signature editor on the program in case you want to make changes or use the signature only on specific e-mails you want to send out.

Include carefully chosen keywords

Other than your contact information, consider using keywords in the text link that are related to your blog’s subject. This will help increase that link’s relevance and popularity, promoting your blog in the process.

Keep it short but informative

Think about all the important information you’ll want to include in your e-mail signature – your name, contact information, blog title, address, etc. It’s a free country, so you pretty much have a choice on what you want to include but it’s best to stick only to the kind of information that will bring you the best results and promote your blog.

Keep your links minimal. One or two will do. Most readers find multiple links to different URLs a bit suspect, so it’s best to use only links to the blog where information related to your entry will be found.

Be prepared to be flexible

If you will be submitting some of your blog entries or e-mail content to article directories, find out if these directories have any submission guidelines you will have to comply with. Generally, you’ll find that directories or databases prefer plain text formatting and specific rules regarding placement, length and structure of your byline. Tweak your e-mail signature just a bit and you’ll be refused.

Since these aren’t your rules to bend, you’ll have no choice but to follow these submission guidelines so you can get back to the business of promoting your blog. To solve this, write multiple e-mail signatures and use these templates as needed. Then update these should changes occur.

This is also a good idea in case you will be sending out e-mails with a different theme. Changing the keywords on your text link will help increase its relevance and promote your blog.

Having a blog can be a great start to an online writing career. A blog will allow you to express yourself, providing you with an outlet for your stress, which can be especially useful if you are working or in school. A blog can also allow you to share your experiences with friends and family, and you can simply post your pictures and diary entries without having to tell the same stories over and over again. Aside from all these, you can also use your blog to sell things, organize your web pages, and even earn some money.

Thanks to the power of technology and prospecting, there are now many ways through which you can make money through your blog. For instance, you can get commissions through paid advertising on your site. There are two ways that you can do this: you can either solicit offline and get brick and mortar companies to pay you to post their ads on your site, or you can join an affiliate marketing network and get paid for each click that visitors make on your ads. You can also blog for a living, and get paid for each entry that you write.

Either technique, however, demands that you have a lot of people visiting your site every single day. This can be a daunting task: you will need to be able to market your site so that it stands out amongst the millions of other blogs online. You will also need to sustain this onslaught of people reading your site by constantly adding to your content, keeping your content useful and fresh, and of course, never lagging in your marketing efforts. One way that you can promote your blog is to post in forums with subjects that are related to your blog posts.

If you are interested in promoting your blog and getting more people to read your work, then you may be interested in posting in forums and knowing how to go about it. Here are a few tips that you may need when posting in forums.

- Always pick a forum that has something to do with your blog. You may think that this is common sense, but you need to know why it’s the best practice for any blogger. Many bloggers make the mistake of spamming blogs in an effort to spread themselves throughout the forum and have their news spread faster. This can be a costly mistake: you do not only alienate your potential market, you will make yourself appear desperate. This air of desperation makes you appear like a hard-selling puppet of capitalism, and in the world of the Internet, where free and open source rules, you can work against your own potential.

- Avoid text lingo and spell like a pro. You may think that your audience is young and on the go, and would not care about your spelling. However, if you cannot even spell well, how can anyone trust you to blog well? How can anyone trust you as a credible source of high quality information? Spell well, check your grammar, and look at your punctuation. You need to look like you are someone who is meticulous and knows what people want, so don’t risk damaging your reputation by taking the shortest cut.

- Help people. Put your blog address in your signature, but start out by helping people with their problems. If you allow people to feel that they are important, they will be interested in you.

If you send out emails a lot, and if you write to a lot of friends and family, then you may be aware of the power of your email signature. A lot of business persons use their email signature in order to show their contact information, which can save them the effort of having to provide all of it in their email, and which can also save them the effort of having to sign every single email. Some business owners also use their email signature to post information about their offerings, or to advertise big discounts or sales that their customers might want to hear about or be updated on.

Even writers need an email signature in order to post their favorite quotes, or even their favorite passages from their own works.

An email signature acts as an identifier, and if used well, it can be a great way for you to post information about yourself and get a lot of people to visit your blog. However, you can also overestimate the power of this email signature, and if you do not make your email signature carefully and with your audience in mind, then no one will visit your blog. If you are interested in promoting your blog through a great email signature, then here are a few tips that you may want to take into account when knowing what not to do.

- Be considerate of people who have to work with slow Internet connections: avoid placing multimedia files in your email signature.

Some email software will allow you to place photos and videos in your email signature. If you are working with people who have fast Internet connections, these files can load properly and quickly. But if you are working with people who are still using dial-up Internet, then you may put their computers in a whole lot of trouble. Save them this trouble by keeping your email signature to a text-only format.

- Don’t overload on the text, either. You may be tempted to put in paragraphs and paragraphs of text, with smilies and other emoticons that you think will make your signature look “cute.”

The thing is, such a signature stops being cute when someone is forced to read through it. Think of how tired your eyes would be if you were made to read through a sea of words; now, transfer that to an email signature, and think of what your email reader would think if you had to post information on your blog using a thousand words!

- Don’t just hyperlink: put your blog address down. Some blog owners will often put the words “click here” and hyperlink it to the blog. This may not show up when email readers select a “text only” option when reading their emails, and clicking on a hyperlink while the browser is not open can tax on a computer’s resources. Keep your blog address readable.

- Avoid putting colors in your text: the simpler, the better. You don’t have to overload on the text formatting in order to make your email signature nice to look at and appealing. Stay with the staid and simple black, and avoid having to change colors or have words that need to be colored in or formatted. Again, if you have email readers who have the “text only” option on, all your colors and formats will be gone.

- Stay with three lines of text, and avoid going for more than this. Think of the succinct compactness of a dog tag: dog’s name on one line, owner’s name on the next, and then contact information on the last line.

Tags are generally ignored by site owners and bloggers in terms of potential. They’re small, for one and very often easy to overlook. Furthermore, those who do not understand their use or significance or at least why and how they work may not often appreciate their value. This is unfortunate because tags can help increase the traffic coming in to your blog from blog directories. Learn what tags are and how they work so you can maximize their use.

Tag – you’re it

A tag, also referred to as a meta tag, is a keyword that is used to label specific information found on a web page. A meta tag uses HTML tags that are hidden from plain sight but clearly ‘visible’ to web crawlers.

A tag functions mainly for identification of an article, for example, or a title, subheading, site description or image – hence the name ‘tag’. They are often used as tools to ping multiple search engines, create a presence for use in social bookmarking and to drive traffic to your site, especially your blog. With tags, it will be easier for your site, article or web page to be found in search engines where they are supported.

Put simply, a tag is a small piece of identification on your blog that informs a search engine bot or spider what your site is about and how it should be indexed. If you can choose and design the right combination of tags for your blog, you will be able to manipulate the number and type of traffic that reaches your site from blog directories legally.

Using tags on your blog to drive more traffic

Blog directories are repositories of information and news regarding the types of blogs available for a particular topic or subject. As such, they can be very useful sources of highly targeted traffic for your own blog. To maximize the use of blog directories for this purpose, consider doing the following:

Choose your words carefully

Keep in mind that your blog is just one of millions out there vying for attention. Even if you’re trying to build a reputation within a relatively smaller niche industry, you will still be competing with at least a dozen others in your market segment. Careful consideration in choosing the specific keywords (or tags) to use with your blog will help you stand out in blog directories.

There are three important tags that you should focus on when designing your blog for traffic increase from blog directories. These are the title tag, the description tag and the keyword/s tag.

The title tag. The title of each blog entry you have should contain the most essential keywords that appear in your write-up or are relevant to your content. This will help optimize your entry and make it easier for search engines to find and index.

Prospective visitors who perform a search using Google, Yahoo! or MSN Search, for example, will be able to reach an optimized blog, since it’s more likely to appear in a search engine list. As a result, you drive more traffic to your blog.

The description tag. Although description tags are ignored by some search engines, adding this to your blog can help influence how your blog (or at least its web pages) is described.

The keyword tag. The keyword tag is the word or phrase that you will repeat within the content body or web page in question. Used strategically, these keywords can help increase your blog’s results in search engines and bring in more traffic to your site by allowing visitors to easily find you.

Don’t be afraid to combine keywords, though. That’s how you will be able to create highly targeted key phrases to optimize your blog. Three- to four-word key phrases will do. Multiple word tags are advantageous to single word searches as well. If you use a keyword phrase tag that says ‘rock paper scissors’, for example, your blog still has the potential to show up in case someone uses only the word ‘rock’ or ‘paper’ in his search.

Don’t overdo the use of tags

If you don’t watch out, tags can be addictive. It could reach a point where you might find yourself using tags that have little relevance to your blog. This usually happens when you try too hard to make sure that your blog or web page appears in more listings.

Although it may seem like a good idea to help increase traffic to your blog particularly as a means to shine in blog directories, overuse of tags can be counter-productive. Try to be careful in choosing only the kind of tags that your blog truly needs. Leaner but highly targeted tags are much more effective than generic ones.

Follow through

A good tag can gain initial interest in your blog and increase traffic coming from blog directories. However, it can only do so much. Now that traffic is beating at your door, you should be able to throw a real party thereafter. Make sure that the content associated with your tag/s is well worth your visitor’s click. It should offer specific information for a specific purpose and should include the content that you so readily promised in your links.

Otherwise, you won’t earn the trust of a loyal readership or following. A baited title that lacks the backing of useful content will be viewed as a cheap trick and won’t earn you a lot of respect – or traffic.

You keep on hearing bloggers marvel about the wonderful benefits of leaving comments on other blogs but you’ve yet to try the tactic yourself. If you still aren’t sure about the wisdom of following their steps, here are a few reasons that could convince you to take that final step.

Show Your Expertise

Everyone prefers to listen to an expert than an amateur. With an expert’s advice, you spend your time wisely and get to learn something in return. Unfortunately, there isn’t always an opportunity to show your expertise.

As such, you have to create the opportunity for yourself once in a while and you can do that by leaving comments on other people’s blogs. Try spending a few minutes visiting other people’s blogs. Go around the blogging community, and once you’ve found some questions you’re very much in the position to answer, go ahead and share your wisdom.

Giving advice whenever it’s solicited is so much better than bragging, don’t you think?

Show Your Charm, Eloquence, and Wit

People can be terribly greedy. To please them, you not only have to be intelligent but you have to be articulate and witty, too. If you had a choice between visiting the blog of an extremely smart but humorless Internet marketer and one who’s moderately smart but witty, which blog would you choose? Many would choose the latter, don’t you think?

Now that you know what’s demanded of you, the next thing to do is determine how to prove that you indeed have all those great qualities. Again, you do that by leaving comments on other people’s blogs.

It’s very important not to overdo your bit when you’re out to display your wit. While providing excessive information can be seen as simply being detailed, being too funny could make other people you’re trying too hard to be so.

There’s a right time, place, and reason to be funny. Make sure you know when such moments occur!

Reciprocate

If other people left comments on your blogs, you owe it them to return the favor. Technically, you’re not obliged to do so but good business dictates reciprocity. And it’s really not that bad. Leaving comments on each other’s blog regularly will soon lead to link exchanges, another factor that can generate more traffic for your respective blogs.

If you continue to nurture your partnership after that, it can lead to even greater collaborations that would benefit both of you.

How to Make Your Comments Effective for Internet Marketing

All three reasons below are able to achieve the same goal: catch your target market’s attention and make them visit your blog. To increase your chances of success, you must make sure that your comments follow the tips below.

Write courteously. Remember the usual rules of courtesy when you’re posting a comment on someone else’s blog.

Don’t be argumentative

Not everyone welcomes a debate so if you truly believe that there’s a need for you to propose an opposing view, make sure you do so politely and be very clear in saying that you only wish to expression your opinion and nothing else.

Don’t forget to link

Lastly, remember to provide a link to your blog whenever you leave a comment. This may be standard procedure but a lot of first-time bloggers still end up forgetting to do so. If you don’t want to risk losing any opportunity, never forget to post your link!

Blog owners pride themselves on a lot of fronts. First, blogs are usually about self-expression, and having people read about your life can be uplifting, not to mention inspiring. Second, blogs can be difficult to maintain, and blog writers need to be bursting with ideas and creativity in order to keep their blogs alive. Third, blogs don’t promote themselves, and the best blog owners are those who are able to spread the word about their blog and get a lot of attention in the process.

Why do blog owners want a lot of attention? Blogs are not just about expression nowadays. Thanks to the power of Internet marketing, blogs can be used to post advertisements. Each time blog readers click on these advertisements, the blog owner can get commissions.

Moreover, there are online companies that pay blog owners to write blog entries on products, services, ideas, businesses, websites, and even speculations! There are many ways to earn money through a blog, and they all involve making the visitors come to a blog. This is the reason why blog owners are often all about promotions.

How do blog owners promote their blogs? They can post their blog addresses in their email messages, tell their friends and family to read their blogs and to spread the word about their blogs, or they can ask friends to link to them. Another way to quickly spread the word about a blog is to post on forums. Forums are a great way to not only meet people, but get the word out on any kind of news. Some blog owners choose to place their blog URL’s in their signatures, or they place them in their posts, enjoining people to read more at their blogs.

What are the best forums to go to and post about a blog?

There is no golden rule for which forums are the best for promoting a blog, since there are thousands of blogs out there that have thousands of different topics, writing styles, and target audiences. The choice of a forum on which to post is entirely up to the blog owner, but there are a few rules that you as a blog owner may want to follow as you look for a forum to promote your blog in. If you are interested in using forum posting to get the word out on your blog, take note of the following pieces of advice.

- Go and post in a forum that is directly related to your blog. You want to have your target audience right in front of you, and you should not make a shot in the dark and post your blog in every forum from A to Z. This is a sign of politeness on your part, not to mention consideration for the people who visit forums and do not wish to see an onslaught of blogs that they are not interested in.

Moreover, this shows meticulousness on your part: you know where your audience is, and you know how to target it. If you look like you are groping about blindly, then you can risk losing your target audience.

- Keep a balance between densely populated forums and smaller communities. You want to be able to reach out to a bigger audience in a large forum, but since a lot of people come and go, and a lot of posts get relegated to the bottom of the forum pile, you may want to offset this density by keeping to a small community as well.

- Have more than one forum to post in. You can never do well if you keep your eggs in only one basket.

Assuming that you already know and appreciate the benefits of posting comments on other people’s blogs, here are a few tips to help you choose the best blogs to leave those wonderful comments of yours on.

Similarity in Interest

There is rarely a point to leave a comment on blogs that have nothing at all to do with the main theme of your blog. A direct connection is unnecessary but preferable. If you are, for instance, maintaining a vitamin supplements, you don’t always have to restrict your comments on blogs that tackle the very same topics. You can also visit a beauty blog, for instance, and post comments regarding the benefits that vitamin supplements offer with regard to one’s physical appearance.

A quick way to determine the nature of any blog is by checking out its blog description. If there is none, just browse through its content and see if you’re targeting the same keywords.

Popularity

Likewise, it’s senseless to leave comments on little-known blogs. With such a small readership base, you won’t be able to justify the amount of time and effort it could take you to post the best comments. If you’re going to use comments to promote your blog, it’s better to post them at blogs that are equally popular or more so than yours.

You can use the blog’s page rankings to determine the popularity rating of other blogs and compare it with yours.

Likelihood of Reciprocity

Naturally, it’s best to concentrate your efforts on blogs whose owners are likely to reciprocate your action. Whether or not you’re the first to make contact, as long as the other party benefited from the comment you posted then it’s only good business for them to reciprocate.

To determine the chances of having comments left on your blog and link exchanges, try reading the previous entries in other blogs. Follow the links of those who posted comments on their blogs and see if the favor was returned. You know what to do next.

Similarity in Target Market Blogs need not have the same interest in order to benefit from comment exchange. With careful planning, traffic can be generated for two different blogs with just a couple of comments posted on each other’s entries.

A dance blog and a food blog may not have anything in common at first glance, but if you look more closely, you’ll realize that both of them may target the same age group. Two different blogs may also have target the same geographical area.

If you can find a major connection between both your target markets, beneficial comment exchange is very much possible but only with careful planning. First, you’ll need to think of a topic that could link your interests together. Just concentrate on your target market, and you’re sure to find one.

If we go back to the food and dance blog example and assume that both are targeting teenagers, articles that could require the blog owners to exchange comments would be about the best food for dancers during competition and the best dance workouts for those on a diet.

Of course, it’s not bad at all to leave a comment on someone else’s blog just because you want to. If you have the time and the inclination then go ahead! There may be no way for you to benefit from such an action now but this small act of generosity and goodwill could turn out good for you in the long run.

Having a blog is a great thing: you can promote your products and services and get a lot of attention for your business; you can promote your work, whether as a painter, photographer, or writer, and maybe even get a job related to the things that you love; or you can simply express yourself and even update your relatives and friends on the goings-on in your life, which can be great if you live in a faraway place and cannot update your relatives and friends more than once.

However, a blog can also be a good way for you to earn money, over and above mere expression and promotion.

Thanks to a lot of different online money-earning methods, you can earn commissions when visitors go to your blog. For instance, you can put up advertisements on your site through an affiliate network or through an advertising program. If one of your visitors clicks on your ads, then you get commissions. The ads are tailored to fit the contents of your website, and they are made so that your visitors will most likely be interested in them and thereby click on them. Therefore, you need to have good website content, as this is what the ad companies need in order to know what kind of ads to place on your site.

Moreover, the more visitors you have, the greater the chance that someone will click on your ads and that you will get commissions.

This means that you need to invite more and more people to your blog, and not just to get money, but to get attention. After all, if your blog is interesting enough, you may get a lot of people linking to you. One way that you can promote your blog is through posting on forums.

If you are interested in posting in forums and getting your voice heard, and if you want to get your blog noticed in the Internet universe, then you may be interested in the following tips. Take note, however, that these are only a few tips to guide you on your way to blog superstardom, and you need to learn on your own along the way and pick up your own lessons, too.

- Post in a forum that you are actually interested in. Believe it or not, the degree of your understanding of and interest in a topic in a forum will shine through your post. If people see that you are interested in the forum topic, then you may get more attention than people just reading your forum post.

- Post in a forum whose topic is related to your blogging topic. This can be critical when you are dealing with die-hard fans of a certain artist or film, because posting off-topic posts in a forum concentrated with users who have a single interest and aim can be distracting, not to mention grounds for kicking you out of the forum.

- Be dignified enough to spell right. Text shortcuts can make texts almost unreadable, and you can annoy a whole lot more people. If you make the effort to write in your blog, make an effort to write well on the forums, or you may find it harder to invite people to read your blog. Why should they read your blog when they can’t even understand what you are posting on the forum?

- Extend help to other forum members when they need it. Remember, people do not care about what you have to say until they find out that you care about them first.

People say that to make an impression, you’ll have to open your mouth. While that is physically impossible in the virtual world of the Internet, saying your piece is not entirely difficult to do. Thanks to forums and discussion boards, you can leave a comment or start a discussion thread about virtually any topic from anywhere in the world. And yes, you can even leave comments to drive traffic to your blog and increase your readership.

Leaving effective comments

You’re probably old enough to know that not every comment that gets thrown into an opportunity for interaction creates the desired effect, much less become appreciated by those who hear or read it. If you don’t use this technique carefully, you will either waste the opportunity or simply allow it to create the wrong impression. Here are 7 ways you ought to do it:

Choose the sites you leave comments on

Ever wondered why Tiger Woods is great? Because he chooses his battles well. You’ll never find Woods swinging his club at a lesser known tournament – not because he’s a snob but because he focuses on the games that truly matter and on being on equal ground with other greats.

Keep this in mind before you leave comments on a website. Just because you have the burning need to drive traffic to your blog doesn’t mean you can just drop by a site – any site – and write there.

Choose the sites and blogs whose forums you participate with. Find out if the site deals with a topic or subject related to your very own blog. Practice only purposeful commenting – the kind where you leave only well-crafted comments on sites that will help build the buzz about your blog.

If the site is completely irrelevant but you have the urge to leave a comment, do so only during your spare time. Otherwise, focus your energies only on more productive activities.

Know what you’re saying

Before you leave a comment with the purpose of driving traffic to your blog, at least write one that is useful. Your goal is to be noticed AND respected for your opinions so leaving useless and dead end comments such as ‘Cool!’ and ‘Way to go!’ just won’t cut it.

If this is the best you can do, forget about leaving comments right now and focus on other strategies to drive traffic to your blog. Better avoid this technique than be embarrassed or be viewed as lame or mediocre.

But if you can write and have something meaningful to say, by all means, do so. With every comment you have, make sure you keep it short, concise, to the point and useful. Talk about relevant topics and avoid those that will do nothing for your purpose.

Avoid strong language

Of course, some sites will probably allow you to leave comments that are strongly worded or at least camouflaged as symbols such as !#$%&*, but there are ways to get your point across, regardless of how angry, upset or argumentative you are.

Furthermore, majority of sites and blogs impose certain regulations that restrict the use of certain words. Try to rephrase a sentence without losing its main thought. Use an online thesaurus, if necessary. Remember that once a comment is posted online, there’s no way to get it back especially if it’s not your site. You can leave that comment there to rot but you can never take it back.

Do not be rude

Have a sense of humor. The Internet is a vast expanse of space, currently limitless. In fact, it’s a whole universe unto itself. If people leave comments on your post that seem to insult you or argue with you, don’t fight back without thinking.

First of all, we are a democracy and people have every right to their own opinion. Second, firing back with the same kind of idiotic language will not be a good reflection on you. Third, you’re way better than that. If you must defend your stand, do so with class.

Calm down

Please, if you must drive traffic to your blog by leaving comments on other websites, keep it professional and tone it down. DON’T LEAVE MESSAGES LIKE THIS ONE!!!!!!

A good rule of thumb is to follow accepted structure of the English language or whatever language it is you’re using to post. If you must use exclamatory points, make sure they are truly needed. Otherwise, avoid them.

Leaving comments written in purely bold or capitalized letter smacks of desperation and unprofessionalism. It’s hardselling and makes people stay away in droves.

Check replies to your blogs

Maximize commenting on other sites and drive traffic by frequently checking back on the forum you participated in to see if there are any replies to the post you left. This is a good way to build buzz and network.

Check your facts

If you will be quoting someone or citing a certain study, make sure your facts can be corroborated. Don’t use make believe or newly invented figures and statements or even half-truths and try to pass them off as legit. You will be exposed. If you want to drive traffic to your blog by leaving comments, make sure you don’t tarnish your reputation with the effort.

When you are speaking with children, repeating yourself may sometimes be the key to getting yourself heard and understood. But you’re not speaking to children when you’re posting the same message over and over in forums, are you? Since you’re not, isn’t it safe to conclude that such tactics won’t work? Worse, they can even backfire on you! Here are five good reasons to avoid spamming in forums.

It Annoys Moderators

Spamming is considered a blackhat SEO technique, and most, if not all, forum moderators do not tolerate it. Other forum members are sure to report you and when a moderator finally takes notice, you’ll certainly have your membership suspended if not revoked immediately and permanently.

There are several reasons why spamming will annoy moderators. Firstly, it’s their job to keep other members happy and what you’re doing is the opposite. You are, therefore, giving them extra trouble to deal with. Secondly, spamming consumes web space and web space costs money. Spamming also makes use of bandwidth, and that costs money, too. By spamming, you are forcing moderators to spend money on something they don’t consider acceptable.

It Irritates Other Members

Again, there are plenty reasons why forum members aren’t happy with your spamming. First of all, these people consider your messages a waste of time. By posting the same message over and over, you force them to spend precious seconds on just scrolling the window until they reach a message that you haven’t posted.

You also make back reading difficult for them. Instead of being able to read all the information they need from one page, you force them to load a new one just to get to the next important message.

Once members realize that you are knowingly practicing spamming, they won’t take your actions lying down. Besides reporting you to moderators, they can also submit your name to concerned agencies that are against unlawful and undesirable Internet marketing tactics. They can also spread the word about your not-so-nice marketing techniques and before you know it, you’ll be banned from every forum in the Internet.

It Doesn’t Work

Adults are different from children. They’re already smart and mature enough to understand a simple lesson at the first try. Repeating the same message over and over, as it is, is unnecessary.

Now, if you’re practicing spamming in hopes of convincing people to try out your product or service, you’re going about the wrong way, too. To convince a person, repetition is not needed. Instead, you need to give people different reasons to change their minds. The more reasons you give them, the greater chances you’ll have of convincing them to see things your way. But if you stubbornly sticking to one reason then you’ll achieve nothing.

Forum Marketing Strategies to Replace Spamming

You should be convinced by now of the utter futility of spamming in forums. Don’t wait till your online business collapse before you decide to change your ways. Use a different – not to mention legitimate – technique now and you won’t regret it.

To help you get started, consider providing valuable contribution that showcases your expertise. Choose questions that you can answer as an “expert”. Get to know other people in the forum and build relationships with them. Post your link in your profile page and signature. Last but not the least, use a cool username to get more attention!

Blogging is a powerful way to reach your target market, generate revenue through display advertising, or simply express your ideas. Consider starting a blog to help you reach your Internet marketing goals and objectives. Blogging is simple thanks to new websites and helpful tools that make it easy to set up and launch your blog.

There are a number of free services available that offer free blog services. Sites like Blogger and WordPress only require a brief registration and set up. Once you determine a theme for your blog and a template, you’re ready to begin posting. Posts are entries you make on a regular basis to your blog that are published instantly.

Some bloggers post comments to their blog on a daily basis and others post once a week. Regardless of how frequently you post to your blog, content can be focused on a specific theme or random topics. The most popular blogs focus on a specific niche and provide valuable information, content, and commentary that encourage interaction with blog followers.

Start your blogging today by choosing a free blog site to register onwith. Once you’ve chosen a blogging web site the next step is consider the specific goal of your blog. Are you going to be posting daily or less frequently? It’s essential to layout a plan that you can adhere to over the long term.

Determine how you will monetize your blog. If you want to use your blog to generate revenue, there are a few basic ideas you can apply depending on which platform you’re using. One of the most popular methods of monetizing your blog is with the help of Google Adsense. This is a popular option and simple to add to your blog. Not only does it generate a small amount of revenue for you on a weekly basis, but it also provides relevant links based on your posts.

I have already had a great deal of success making money with my websites and blogs. One of the fastest ways to start generating revenue is by creating a link list and requiring advertisers to pay for their link to be included. Start by creating a section on your site of ‘recommended links’. In this area you will also place a link to how to add your link. This should be a link to a specific blog post or website page that tells users how they can advertise on their blog. I personally use a link listing service to take care of this for me. However you could perform this manually through Paypal.

Many individuals are monetizing their blogs by using pay per post or other blogging network. Essentially, advertisers search for bloggers who are willing to write a post to promote their product and services or brand. You can sign up for one of these networks quite easily and be contacted when advertisers feel that your blog would be ideal for distributing a message. You write a blog post and get paid for doing so.

Having a successful blog is based on a variety of things. In my experience, being successful comes down to producing valuable content on a regular basis that is meaningful for a specific audience. The earning ability of your blog is directly correlated to the traffic you can generate. Once you have the traffic, apply various methods for generating revenue and you’ll be successful.

If you’re serious about using blogging as a method of making money online, here are guidelines which point out the different options you have.

Step 1 – Finding an Informative Niche of Interest

Think of a unique niche or topic that fits your personal interest and something that you would like to blog about for life. You can use keyword research services like Google Zeitgeist or Yahoo! Buzz Index to find popular searched topics.

Step 2 – Create Your Blog

Different blogging platforms offer different levels of service. Some like Blogger.com and WordPress.com offer both the platform, domain name and hosting for free. Others like Wordpress.org (note this is different to WordPress.com) offer the platform for free but you then need to find and pay for your own hosting and domain name. Others still, like MovableType charge for a license for the platform (depending how many blogs you have and whether they will have a commercial, personal, educational or not-for-profit use – they do also have a free version) and then you need to arrange and pay for your own domain name and hosting.

You need to include the keywords in Step 1 in the content of your blog. Try not to overuse these as it sends out bad signals to the search engines, and this is 100% not what you want.

Step 3 – Google, Google, Google

Sign up for Google Adsense account and paste the generated javascript code into your blog html. Every time the page is accessed, the code will pull advertisements from the Adsense program. When someone click on the ad which resides on your blog, you get paid. However, Google doesn’t disclose the exact revenue share or percentage that webmasters will earn.

Enabled Google Analytics on your blog by inserting a tracking code in the template of your blog. This way, Google’s indexing bots can see every page of your site and tell you all kinds of information about the traffic you’re receiving on those pages.

You may also want to submit your URL to Google’s index.

Step 4 – Find Something to Sell

If you want to maximize your income and truly learn How to Make Money with Blogs you will want to find an affiliate program to join. A couple of affiliate programs I would suggest are ClickBank and Commission Junction. You can sell anything from office furniture, pet supplies, movies and clothing to PC games, Dieting tips and Audio software.

Whatever program you join will give you help inserting the code you will need to insert into your blog, but be sure you do this correctly or you WILL NOT earn money from your visitors. If you do not know how to edit HTML, W3Schools HTML tutorial is a great place to start.

Step 5 – Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking sites like OnlyWire and SocialMarker are used for people to share their bookmarks or websites that they have liked with other people in their online community.

I would not suggest you add your own links to these services, but provide visitors to your website the ability to do so.

Step 6 – Write an Article

I would suggest you to write an article or a review if our blog is about a specific product. Most article directories require articles of 500 words and over so I would use this as a rule when writing to ensure your article is published.

Submit your article to any of the 100’s which are out there. I personally use a few of the Top Article directories such as EzineArticles, Article Dashboard, Amazines.com, isnare and SearchWarp. I also use a nifty piece of software called Article Submitter which will submit your articles to over 600 article directories, which saves you lots of time and leaves you to focus on writing your blogs.

Whatever your blog is used for, it can help you out in a positive way. Blogging has definitely become professional in its use. So go out and start your blog!

Success can be achieved by reaching a specific goal. Although success can have several meanings, it is usually determined by setting a goal with a specific time line and completing that goal within the time frame. Having a lucid plan or purpose with an ending date and accomplishing this task can equate to success.

Without goals or objectives it is impossible to obtain success. We also have to manage our goals and objectives. They call this MBO or Management by Objectives. To help in reaching these goals, I have always memorized the S.M.A.R.T. acronym. Our goals must be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and have a Time frame for completion. Success has several different meanings to different people but whether money is “success” to some people or just “stability” in the work or family environment, we still have to set goals to reach “success”. Success to a real estate agent has a much different meaning than success to a CEO of a corporation.

Be sure your goals are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and have a time line. Saying you are going to be rich in two years probably isn’t achievable or attainable and not specific. If money is “success” to you then a goal such as “I’m going to increase my income by $10,000 every three years is more realistic. Short term goals might not require as detailed specifics as long term goals might require. Long term goals are more achievable if you focus on setting “steps” along the way. We can then measure success in “steps”, which will keep us focused and motivated as we achieve each step. Each step could be considered a rewarding success or achievement.

How do you measure success? Is it about money, that job promotion or more responsibility in the work force? Do you determine success by having a beautiful home, material objects or recreational “toys”, such as boats, motorcycles or cars? Can success just be “happiness”?

Success is a state of mind for many people. Maybe it’s a dream, a goal, something that motivates a person to take their lives to the next level, whatever that level may be. Sometimes it’s as simple as having a positive attitude, which in turn creates a sense of fulfillment one may not have thought possible.

The dictionary defines “success” as a “favorable termination of attempts or endeavors”. This almost sounds vague but go back and read this definition two or three more times. It couldn’t be more precise. Success is not a measurement or calculation of “importance” but rather a favorable achievement no matter how many times it takes us to get to that achievement. This is why goal setting is so important. We cannot achievement something if we don’t plan or set a goal as to what we are trying to achieve.

With the current real estate market and unemployment we need to be optimistic and keep plugging forward. If you have been in a certain field for years and find yourself unemployed do not get discouraged. Focus on the knowledge and experience you have and “jump” those hurdles. You will be amazed what you can achieve by setting new goals, creating a plan and facing “head-on” anything that gets in your way. We might have had to sell our home, trade in that Mercedes but with a positive attitude we will succeed. Reach for that success, one step at a time.

Wake up each day with a plan. Work hard at achieving this plan and success will follow. Do what you can to the best of your ability and you’ll again see those dreams at the end of the tunnel.

What’s next after setting up a website? Obviously, it is to constantly update it with some exciting information that keeps people coming back in order to increase the number of visitors each day. To achieve that, here are some tips I have came up with that leads to a good piece of article.

1. Be clear with what you are trying to say. It is important that you have enough knowledge about your subject matter because you may happen to have all the exclusive knowledge that people may not know and that is what attracts them. If you are just an amateur, it’s best for you to do more research before generating an article. You may also find it useful to ask an expert for his opinions.

2. Write only about what you’re interested in! Readers can easily sense your enthusiasm and be attracted to your writing especially if you have a great interest in your topic because as a result, you may be able to include more exclusive information as well as some personal experiences which creates a more realistic picture. Other than successful experiences, you may also include some failures that you have came across for readers to take references.

3. You must explain your writing intent well. Do this is the very first paragraph of each article you write and let the reader have an overall picture of what they are about to read. This act as a guideline and makes it easier for reader to follow. State in that paragraph whether they will be expecting an explanation, or solutions to a problem. Readers can then decide for themselves if they prefer to read on or leave the site.

4. Answer the questions you have asked at the beginning of your article. If you have asked how to do something in your first paragraph, you should include the steps used to achieve the goal in the article. Thorough follow-up and explanation should also be provided.

5. The article should be very articulate yet informative. There are times when we keep staring at the article we have just read and cannot understand what the message was. What if your readers feel the that way about what you write? People want to take something with them when they visit your site. What you can do is provide them with useful information and present your contents in a direct way. Customers will be happy to re-visit your site because they are gaining knowledge.

6. Allocate your article accordingly. Remember, short little paragraphs are usually easier to digest than long dull sentences. Most readers are likely to just skim through articles to search for what they want to read. Therefore you should try to organize it by adding bullet points to things that you want to emphasize. Bullet points enable readers to quickly summarize your information.

Your website will be full of fresh content if you can practice the above tips well. Search engines will then crawl over your site and the traffic of your site will be increased. So start writing a precise but informative article and publish it on your website.

What’s next after setting up a website? Obviously, it is to constantly update it with some exciting information that keeps people coming back in order to increase the number of visitors each day. To achieve that, here are some tips I have came up with that leads to a good piece of article.

1. You have to know what you are writing about. The information in the article will only be valid and sensible if you know the subject well. You may have a lot of first hand experience because you have worked or studied in that particular field before. In case you are absolutely new to the subject, you can either do some research on your own, or seek help from experts by simply conduct an interview with them. They will give you insights to what the subject matter is.

2. Write about topics that you are interested in. You will get excited when you talk about your interest and your excitement can be shown in your writing. Readers will be interested if you can give them first hand knowledge in your article. For example, you need to write an article about making money at home and you are really interested in this topic. Hence you can write about your successful and unsuccessful experiences. By telling the readers your real life examples, they will find your article trustful and interesting.

4. Solve the questions that you have raised. It is important that you solve all the enquiries that you have brought up in the first paragraph. For example, if you are writing about working at home, you should be prepared to provide a rough progressive plan for your readers to follow. Remember to explain clearly on each step in your plan.

5. The article should be very articulate yet informative. There are times when we keep staring at the article we have just read and cannot understand what the message was. What if your readers feel the that way about what you write? People want to take something with them when they visit your site. Your website will definitely attract more visitors once you integrate these useful tips to your articles. Moreover, search engines will be able to detect your website and help you hunt for your target readers. Just write an interesting, explicit piece of article and publish it to your own website.

Setting up a Contact Form

You would be surprised at just how many bloggers don?t have a contact form on their blog. But why would you want or need one? Well if you are trying to market something, be it yourself, your services, a product or even a brand ? anything at all, you are going to need some way for your potential customers to be able to contact you. Unfortunately with the amount of spam around these days, it is unwise to publish your email address online. A contact form, however, means that your visitors can contact you with an email even though your actual email address remains hidden away on the server.

You can manually create a form with HTML but that?s quite a lengthy process and there is really no need unless you want something specific. If all you want is an easy way for your visitors to get a message to you, then the WordPress plug-in, available at The Marketing Technology Blog is great.

Once you have installed it, log in to your WordPress account, go to your dashboard, click ?Settings? and you will find a new option called ?Contact Form?. Follow this link to bring the contact form editor up.

It will ask you to give your email address to send the mail to, but don?t worry, this will remain hidden from your visitors. It will also ask for a subject line and some standard messages. You also have the option to create a question for your visitors to answer in order to avoid spammers.

Once setup, you still need to create the form itself. You can use a WordPress post or a page. All you need to do is put the following text in the body of the page and when it is displayed on your site the text will be replaced by the actual form: %%wpcontactform%%

That?s all there is to it! I would recommend, however, that you send yourself a message via your form to test that it works!

Archives Pages

WordPress has built-in archives features but they show the full posts and there is not an easy way to see just a table of contents at a glance. Thankfully plugins come to the rescue once again and by far my favourite is the one at idunzo.com.

What this plug-in does is it creates a single page that can display a single link for each post. It groups the links by months and can also show how many comments were received for each post.

Once you have installed the plugin you will find a new option called ‘SRG Clean Archives’ from the ‘Settings’ menu. There are a few checkboxes that allow you to tweak the output but I find the defaults fine.

The process to create the archives page is similar. You put in a piece of text which then gets replaced by the actual archives output when the page is published. There is a subtle difference however ? you need to type this text in the HTML view of the page rather than the Visual view.

This is what to type in: <!–srg_clean_archives–>

This is an HTML tag (or a comment) and so must be input in the HTML view. If it is typed in the visual view then that?s exactly what will be shown on the page when it?s output.

What is the best way to attract people to come to your site, when you articles are finished and already uploaded onto the website? The key element is the content of your work. Remember that the information you provide should be as new as possible. You may have to edit and efficient upload whatever you think is suitable for the site. I believe the following suggestions will be helpful for all of you.

2. You have to be interested in what you are writing. It really show when you are interested in something, from the way you talk and your gestures. People usually appear to be more outspoken and energetic when they are talking of their interests, this is also reflected in what you write. Of course you can write about your first hand experience on practically everything. Try to incorporate in your writing the useful tips, which readers can learn from. Writing about the failures or problems that your have encountered will also make the content more believable.

3. Tell the readers your objective of writing the article. You should start the article by telling them what the article is about. Sometimes you may even need to give detailed explanation. In any case, you must give enough information in the first paragraph that enables your readers to decide whether the article is important for them to read or not.

4. Solve the questions that you have raised. It is important that you solve all the enquiries that you have brought up in the first paragraph. For example, if you are writing about working at home, you should be prepared to provide a rough progressive plan for your readers to follow. Remember to explain clearly on each step in your plan.

5. Your article should be explicit as well as educational. Many online writers fail to achieve this, which leaves their readers with plenty of unsolved questions in their mind. I am sure you do not want to have the same type of readers either, right? That’s why you will need to write explicitly in order to keep them coming back to your website. That will not only make your article more fruitful, as well as to to build trust between you and your readers.

6. Your article should be divided into sections to make them more readable. Long paragraphs are discouraging and people usually won’t have the patience for that. Keep the paragraphs short and simple so readers get the gist of it by scanning through it. To do this effectively, you can use either bullet points, or numbers. The clear division would help readers to figure out the context easily and summarize what they are interested in knowing.

Your website will be full of fresh content if you can practice the above tips well. Search engines will then crawl over your site and the traffic of your site will be increased. So start writing a precise but informative article and publish it on your website.

What does success mean? Success is Achievement. Achievement is setting a plan into action with a definitive time frame and reaching that achievement. It might take several attempts to achieve these goals but never give up. Get up off the ground, dust yourself off, and continue moving forward. Persistence and hard work will allow you to be victorious every time.

We could calculate or define success in many ways, depending on who we ask. A dairy farmer’s definition of success will be much different than a recruit joining the Marine Corps. No matter how one defines success, they are attainable if we create a unique business plan and set definable goals to reach these successes.

Sometimes success can be measured by gains along the way. If you have a goal which requires several steps to achieve the end result, each step becomes a minor achievement towards reaching the end goal. Each time you get closer to the outcome, you have achieved a victory.

How do you know when you’re successful? Is it about how much money you have or how many toys you have? Can you be unhappy and still be successful? Can you have absolutely no material possessions and still be thought of as one who has accomplished big things in life?

Success is merely an emotional state or what is significant to you. Success may be a sense of fulfillment or just keeping a positive outlook on your dreams. A positive attitude alone can be so rewarding. Ever notice people with “negative” attitudes tend to have more problems in life?

We all have dreams of success. Remember, to accomplish these dreams we have to set goals. No matter how simple our goals might be attainable, there will always be obstacles to overcome. Taking positive “action” to bypass these obstacles rather than confronting these impediments with a “reaction”, we will find these hindrances much easier to overcome.

If you were looking for a job in the current economy and were approached by someone who said you could sell Real Estate, you might think they were crazy. This same person would go on to tell you how they have maintained success in Real Estate because every day they find a success in what they are accomplishing. Each day they wake up with a business plan, a good attitude and a goal of the Real Estate consumer in mind. This individual may not have much money or an expensive car but they have something even more valuable; Heartfelt, genuine, personal success that is clearly defined by their individual achievement and attainment.

Wake up each day with a plan. Work hard at achieving this plan and success will follow. Do what you can to the best of your ability and you’ll again see those dreams at the end of the tunnel.

Lets suppose you have a brand new website with a WordPress blog. As a serious internet marketer/business person, you would want to make full use of the blog for the uses of interactivity and marketability.

I am sure you understand the difference between using a DoFollow or a NoFollow tag, but are not sure which ones to use for your blog. The choice really depends on what your personal preference is.

As you might already know, DoFollow tags pass along link juice to their target. For example, if a person comments on your DoFollow blog and leaves a link to his website, he will get link benefit from his posting. A NoFollow link is just that: It does not provide any link juice to its destination.

Now a natural question arises: Why would you want to provide your visitors with valuable link juice?

Ideally you would not want to do that. But the catch is, Google (and maybe other search engines) look at your blog more favourably if you have lots of outgoing links from your website. In this case, having people leaving links on your blog can actually help you in becoming an authority website and dominating your niche.

So in the end it really comes down to your personal preference. If you keep your blog as a DoFollow blog, you will get loads of spam, because people will less brainpower and automated scripted will look forward to stealing some of that link juice. But a DoFollow will also provide users with more incentive to comment on your posts!

If you choose to have a NoFollow blog, you will still get a lot of spam (simply because a lot of spammers do not really know that their postings on NoFollow blogs are wasting their time) and will mostly reduce the interactivity on your blog, because most people will comment on your posts. But people who are looking to provide meaningful feedback and who do not care about the link juice will keep on commenting.

I would personally have a DoFollow blog, because outgoing and incoming links are both very important factors to determine your search engine rankings. Remember, if you give out to others over the web, most people will feel obligated and do you favors. For this reason, if you let legitimate blog comments contain an outbound link, other websites will also link back to you.

So you want to start an online business or you want to use the internet for an exiting offline business? While the decision to do so may stem from many reasons, the internet is a wonderful to conduct business and can be very profitable if you do things the right way.

The most important thing you want to consider in starting an internet business is website design and the way it is perceived y your potential visitors. This is something tat you can do by learning the skills of the trade, or accomplish by hiring a professional. If you design your own site, then you are going to have to learn basic design and implementation using HTML, CSS or PHP depending on what file format is easier for you.

Should you turn this over to a professional website developer, be prepared to shell out some big bucks. It can cost anywhere from $1000 for a basic design upwards to $5000 or more. By learning to do it yourself, you can save a lot of money and learn a valuable skill.

There are a lot of benefits in learning basic website design. First, you will always be able to design the layout and core components of your website the way you want it. When you are depending on others to do it for you, you will never get exactly want you want. However, you do have the option to tweak things once you receive the finished product.

When you learn the skills to creating your own site design, this will help later on when you want to make changes. A well developed website will always undergo periodic change to reflect new technologies. If you had to pay a web designer each time you wanted to incorporate a change, it could get costly.

When you are planning the look and fell of your site, always keep in mind that the customer or visitor is the most important thing. The site should not be about you, but about your customers. This means your website will address the needs, wants and desires of the customers by providing answers and solutions that will help them.

By building a site that speaks to your visitors, they will gain confidence in your ability to help them solve their problems and achieve their goals. Too often, this is not the case and people wonder why their websites are not converting into new leads and generating sales.

Websites that target specific needs, wants and desires of a market or niche with specific solutions always win. When a person comes to your website and sees that you truly understand what they need to accomplish, most often they will reach out to you. This may result in you getting a new lead or making a sale.

When you are in the planning stages of your website, use the AIDA formula to help guide your design, website copy and core action your want your visitor to take. AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire and action and has been proven to work in sales copy and website design for many years. It is the same formula that underwrites the success of high converting sales letters. Follow these tips and the money will follow.

So you want to start an online business or you want to use the internet for an exiting offline business? While the decision to do so may stem from many reasons, the internet is a wonderful to conduct business and can be very profitable if you do things the right way.

Your site design can either be done by you or you can hire a professional designer to do it for you. If you decide to do it, most likely there will be a steep learning curve involved, especially, if you are new to website creation. There are many websites with free tutorials in HTML and CSS to help you understand the basics.

The cost of hiring a professional website designer these days is expensive. You could end up paying $1,500 or more for a basic design concept. Some designers have been known to charge far more. If you design your own site, you can save a lot of money and still get a great looking site.

I am a big advocate of taking the do-it-yourself approach. There are many advantages. One is that you can design your website exactly as you see it. Sometimes it can be hard communicating what you want to others and very often you will never get back exactly what you envisioned.

If you learn the basic skills of website creation, this will serve you for the rest of your life. These skills alone open new doors of opportunities that you would not otherwise have. Not only will you have the ability to design your own site and make necessary changes in the future, but you will be able to create new sites in other markets too.

When you are planning the look and fell of your site, always keep in mind that the customer or visitor is the most important thing. The site should not be about you, but about your customers. This means your website will address the needs, wants and desires of the customers by providing answers and solutions that will help them.

When you plan your site around the needs of your customers, they will automatically be attracted to you because you seem to positions yourself as a person who understands their needs. Many new site owners talk too much about themselves and never give much thought to what their visitors are really looking for. This is a big mistake and can costs you in the long run.

When a person comes to your website looking for a specific solution, they don’t want to hear all about you. They want to know if what you offer can really help them. They may be looking for answers to specific problems or may have a strong desire to accomplish something. Either way, how you positions your website will make all the difference in the world.

The best formula you can use is the same formula that copywriters use when creating sales correspondence. The formula is AIDA which means, attention, interest, desire and action. This simply means your site design and website copy should attraction the attention of visitors, hold their interest, create a desire for you solution and inspire them to take action. Do this and your will success.

Let us imagine that you have a fairly new website with a blog. As a serious internet marketer, you definitely want to use your blog to improve your visitors and reach.

I am sure you understand the difference between using a DoFollow or a NoFollow tag, but are not sure which ones to use for your blog. The choice really depends on what your goals are.

As you might already know, DoFollow tags pass along link juice to their target. For example, if a person comments on your DoFollow blog and leaves a link to his website, he will get link benefit from his posting. A NoFollow link is just that: It does not provide any link juice to its destination.

Now an important question is asked: Why do you want to send link juice to your customers?

Ideally you would not.

If there has ever been a time when the odds are in your favor, the time is not.

Compared to 10 years ago, it is a lot easier to get a website up and running. It used to be very expensive to have a website created and learning code was considered very difficult. Those obstacles have all changed in your favor. Now that ecommerce is in full swing, anyone can establish a profitable internet presence if they are will to do what is necessary.

Today, you can quickly learn the skills you need to create a website by visiting a few sites that have free tutorials or hire someone like a neighbor, friend or college student to create one for you. Most website hosting companies even have mini site design builders integrated into the admin panel of your account. Even though the sites they create are basic, they are actually pretty good and will most likely serve your needs.

The obstacles that once stood in your way of starting a traditional business such as the high cost of advertising and direct mail expertise is no longer an obstacle online. Depending on the complexities of your business, you can get a promotional website up and running in less than two weeks. It may take a bit longer if you stock thousands of products. You will have to hire a database programmer in such instances.

The key is that you no longer have to worry about exorbitantly high web design fees. If you are technically savvy, you could easily learn the essential skills of website design, hosting and management. These are valuable skills to learn and they will serve you well.

So how can you use the internet for your business? I can list dozens of ways which are beyond the scope of this article. However, I will say that the four most important uses for deploying marketing strategies online will be for prospecting, lead generation, business branding and product promotion. Seriously, most of your revenue generating activities will encompass around one of these three.

Many people have aspirations of earning money online only to have them crushed once they find how difficult it is. People keep making the same common mistakes over and over again that make them fail miserably. Here are the reasons why you won’t make it as an internet marketer.

You are not patient enough. Earning money online takes time! The hardest part about this profession is that you do not see money up front. There is no secure paycheck every two weeks within this profession. It might take six months for you to starting earning money. Many people are blinded by ads stating that they can earn up to $5,000 posting links on Google. It’s possible to earn money; however, these people do not tell you how long it’s taken them to start earning money. You must have patience within this profession.

You learn from the wrong group of people. Internet marketing “gurus” and Search Engine Optimization “gurus” are a dime a dozen. Many people get sucked into the “I’ve made $10,000 from following these simple steps” type of E-books and when they don’t make money, they quit. This goes with the first point, if you don’t have patience, you won’t earn money.

You do not target the right keywords. Many people try to make money by blogging about high paying keywords. However, many people learn the hard way that not all high paying keywords make you money. Proper keyword research includes looking at the buying potential of each keyword as well as the cost per click, click through rate, buyer potential and daily traffic.

People that fail at earning money from home do not target profitable niches. Choosing the right keyword is crucial for earning money (especially from Google Adsense). Many people focus on un-profitable keywords and later learn that all their hard work was in vain because the keyword they chose did not produce profitable traffic. Targeting the wrong type of traffic is another way to fail at Internet Marketing. For me, my ultimate goal is to earn a profit from putting up a blog or website, not to make friends and get “followers”. Social networking traffic never converts well as these people will not click on your ads. They will be great friends and will leave you poor.

These are only a few reasons why you won’t make it as an Internet Marketer. Learn from people that know what they’re doing. Sometimes the best information is found on free blogs, not from two dollar e-books.

The best way to learn to blog is to get involved with blogs that interest you. It can be a passion of yours or it can be a writer that you enjoy reading. If you admire a writer, think about why. Is it his or her writing style? Is it the format of the site? Do they get a lot of traffic (most important)? Find some other people who cover the same subject, contrast their styles. Consolidate the best of what you find with your own style to create a blog that will attract readers. Work everyday at making your blog work. As you blog more, you will find that you had more to say than you thought. You will find new ways of covering and observing your blog subject. You can become your true self as you blog. And as you write on a daily basis you will find that you may create new views that you had never thought about before. Then you can turn these ideas into a profitable venture.

Do you have to be a highly skilled in something to train people? All the best people in any field have coaches. They may, on occasion, switch coaches, but they would never say since Im the best, I can go without. They rely on the coaching skills that they can bring to the table.

Whose to say that you need to learn to blog from a fellow blogger? There are many skills that people from other fields can bring to the blogging field.

Blogging is just writing. Since we first entered school we have been taught composition. All those grammar lessons that made us better writers over the years can be put to work. You should find your authentic writing style and use it in your blogging. You will not only learn to blog, you will become a blogmaster.

Because the blogging style relates to journalism, perhaps the best background for training is newspaper writing or editing. Great journalist, particularly a columnist creates a following. This is a skill that needs to be appreciated.

But, as we have said above, to blog is to find your own voice. How do you learn to blog? Perhaps blogging is a chance to find a writing style that suits you best. Perhaps the best way to learn is to blog by trial and error until you have found what works.

A wedding website blogs main goal is to let your customers know that they can depend on you to answer any questions they might have because you are knowledgeable and experienced in your field.

Providing your customers with useful tips and helpful information is the best way to do this. If you were a florist, for instance, information about bridal bouquets, the best flower arrangements or even advice on how to stick to a budget could be posted on your blog. If ideas for your post don’t come that easy, you could always use bits of previous conversations you have had with different customers where you have helped them choose flowers based on budgets and preferences.

Another thing that’s great about blogs is that they give you the opportunity to get in touch with your potential customers. The comments that they leave will give you insight to what they prefer and what they don’t. You should always address the comments posted either by replying directly or by incorporating your response in your next blog post. It does not matter which way you connect with your site visitors, but it is important that you do.

By doing this, you become trusted. I’ve read a statistic recently that says 90% of brides are researching their wedding on the internet, so giving them useful information really starts to put you into the trusted adviser roll, and if they like what they hear, you’re much closer to converting them into a real customer.

So now lets talk about video…

If this is making you nervous, you should know that it really isn’t that difficult. The purpose of posting a video would be to allow the people who visit your site – your potential customers, to get to know you better and it can be a short clip of 3-4 minutes. It is always nice to put a face to the name, and will bring you a lot closer to them.

So what does adding video to your blog offer?

There are very few wedding suppliers that upload video clips to their websites or blogs and most of them are videographers that use them so that their customers can see samples of their work.

There are two ways to go about adding video to your blog. One way is to talk directly to your site visitors through your camera, giving them advice and information on specific topics. The other way is to take a video of work that you have done and add audio with your message later.

It makes no difference which method you use; all you need to keep in mind is that the message should be clear, to the point and not over 4 minutes long. You can check out some good examples of videos on you tube for ideas and who knows, if you get it right, the next viral video might just be yours.

So you are thinking about taking your business online or starting a money making website? It is a wonderful idea and it can be a profitable venture for you if you design your website the correct way. The best way to make your business profitable is to design a site that correctly targets your market in a unique way.

Your site design can either be done by you or you can hire a professional designer to do it for you. If you decide to do it, most likely there will be a steep learning curve involved, especially, if you are new to website creation. There are many websites with free tutorials in HTML and CSS to help you understand the basics.

If you decide to hire a professional website developer, be prepared to pay no less than $1000 for a basic design. You can save a lot of money by learning the skills of the trade. It may take you much longer to launch, but the skills you learn will serve your well for a long time.

There are a lot of benefits in learning basic website design. First, you will always be able to design the layout and core components of your website the way you want it. When you are depending on others to do it for you, you will never get exactly want you want. However, you do have the option to tweak things once you receive the finished product.

Website design skills are in big demand. This means that once you learn the basic skills, not only do you become a marketable asset, but you can design your own sites, make changes in the future, or create new websites that target other markets. It is a valuable skill to have.

The best tip I can give for success is to never create a website that is all about you. Basically, keep in mind that your visitors and their needs are the most important thing and should influence the entire reason for your website’s existence. The site you create should be bout their wants, desires, needs and aspirations and how you can help them.

When you plan your site around the needs of your customers, they will automatically be attracted to you because you seem to positions yourself as a person who understands their needs. Many new site owners talk too much about themselves and never give much thought to what their visitors are really looking for. This is a big mistake and can costs you in the long run.

It is simple to get a website up and ready for traffic on the world-wide-web. At one time it was rather costly to start a website. All businesses can take profitably advantage of the internet in some way or form. The internet is a great source for getting new leads, test marketing ideas, acquiring feedback, or outright promoting and selling products. Given the huge search volume for products and services these days, it would be easy for you to research your market online and connect with volumes of potential customers and prospects.

It just takes a domain name, web hosting service and a simple website to start the ball rolling. Most domain names cost approximately $9.00 and a web hosting starter package will run about $10.00 per month to host your files. Many hosting companies have basic click-and-point online site makers that make it easy for you to create a basic site. If you want to tweak the site in any way, you will have to learn a little more about HTML or PHP coding.

When you are in the planning stages of staring an internet business, aside from understanding the needs of your market, the first thing you want to take to heart is the way your website is designed. The cookie cutter approach does not work in all instances. You want your site to stand out as unique. This means you will have to learn how to build your own site or farm it out.

Should you turn this over to a professional website developer, be prepared to shell out some big bucks. It can cost anywhere from $1000 for a basic design upwards to $5000 or more. By learning to do it yourself, you can save a lot of money and learn a valuable skill.

This means your website will address the needs, wants and desires of the customers by providing answers and solutions that will help them.

A site that truly benefits your visitors is a site that converts well. This means that you have to clearly communicate in every way what is important to them and not what is important to you. Many times people build websites the have very little visitor value. This is a big mistake.

The best website design will always reach out to real people with real problems and offer solutions in a very understandable way. This is how you design a site that converts into sales. The sales can be generated from affiliate products, personal services, or your own information products.

As a rule of thumb, use the AIDA formula when you are planning out your site design and copy. The acronym AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire and action and should be the guiding principle for your success. You want your site to get a visitors attention, keep their interest, build a desire for your solution and get them to take action. This is how you succeed.

RSS – A Brief Intro

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it is a way of allowing your blog visitors to have your blog posts automatically delivered using a method of their choice rather than having to manually visit your web page every day to check for updates. This is particularly helpful when somebody reads many blogs as they can use a tool called an RSS reader to read all of those blogs in one place.

Each separate blog will publish a unique URL, this is the RSS feed and is what any visitors will need to use to subscribe to the blog via RSS. All of the blog platforms, including WordPress, have RSS technology built in already which is great as this means that there is very little that you need to do to set it up. The chances are, in fact, that if you’ve already chosen the theme to use, you won’t have to do anything at all.

What you do want to watch out for is that your RSS icon will be clearly displayed in the top section of the blog theme. If the visitor needs to scroll way down to get to it, choose another one. Be sure that the icon is relatively large and that it stands out. Fundamentally, you need to be sure that your visitor’s eyes will be drawn straight to it. If it’s tucked away then it more than likely won’t get used.

Choosing Full or Partial Feeds

There is an RSS feature that will send just a small piece of the published post to the RSS feed, and if the reader would like to view the whole post, they have to click to follow it through to your web page to read it. Be aware though that WordPress is set, by default, to publish a full feed, so your whole post will be sent via the feed. You can see, and amend, this setting by going to your WordPress Dashboard, then go to ‘Settings’, then ‘Reading’.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. If you provide a full text feed it means that your reader doesn’t ever need to visit your website again – they can get all of your material directly through their feed reader. Some webmasters don’t like this because it means that those people won’t see their ads that they have on their site. However, all that has changed now as Google has setup a system to allow ads to be embedded directly in your feed.

Now there is something to understand about RSS readers – these are people who understand the Internet, they know what RSS is, they have chosen their RSS reader, they have decided to subscribe to your feed because they want to hear what you have to say and so they are far less likely to click on an ad than somebody who arrived at your website from a search engine. Also, these people are hungry for information which is why they are using RSS in the first place.

The use of an RSS reader will allow them to view all of their chosen blogs speedily and saves them from the need to navigate round a whole horde of websites. The downside, then, of only sending a partial feed to your reader, is that if these people are forced to then have to click and follow through to your website, they may simply not bother, and many may even unsubscribe. This then means that your posts do not get viewed.

I would recommend that, if you want to grow a social blog and you are keen to build up a loyal audience who will read everything you write, you will need to make it a full feed. But if you are looking to create a commercial blog that is monetized heavily, and that you are not so concerned about readership, you can do a partial feed.

However, the best revenue from your blog does not come from on-page ads! When you learn to use your blog to launch much bigger revenue streams then it doesn’t matter if people read your content through your RSS feed or your webpage so for nearly all cases I would recommend a full feed.

Utilization of a Feedburner

If you are using the default WordPress theme then you don’t need to do anything in order for your viewers to be able to subscribe to your feed. This would mean, however, that you would not be able to see your subscription numbers. If you want to know how many people are subscribing to your feed then you can use the Feedburner service to track this.

The Feedburner service is run by Google is incredibly easy to set up and best of all is totally free. Once signed up, all you have to do is give the URL of your original blog feed to Feedburner and that will create a new Feedburner URL to use. Then just edit your WordPress theme using the new Feedburner URL instead.

Google Analytics – What does it do?

Google Analytics is a nice piece of software that allows you to track all kinds of stats about your website such as how much traffic you have had, what keywords are used to find you, other links that point to you, the location of your visitors and a lot more. It’s damn good software and it’s completely free!

Once you have signed up you will need to add a website profile for your blog. All you need to do here is put in the URL of your blog and perhaps set your time zone if you want. You will then be shown some code that you need to display on your pages – just click on the code to copy it to the clipboard.

To put the code onto your WordPress blog, you can do it manually but that involves editing your theme files and if you change themes you will have to do it again. Instead, I recommend Semiologic which manages your Analytics for you. The download page has full instructions on how to use the plugin so I don’t need to repeat it here.

People launch a website with aspirations of earning some residual income online. There are so many people that want to earn money from home; however, your chances are slim to none unless you know what you’re doing. There are many reasons why you will fail as an internet marketer. Here are just a few.

Many people want instant satisfaction. They think that they will start making money instantly once they put up their website and attract a few hundred people. People are programmed for instant gratification. Unfortunately, that’s now how earning money online works. You must have a lot of patience (this is all part of the game). You can either sit at your desk for hours and feverishly checking your visitor statistics or you can use that time to build another blog or build links to your website.

You learn from the wrong people. Many people try to earn income online by learning from a so called “guru”. However, the only person that is going to become rich is the “guru”, not you. These people make a living by selling you e-books on how to make money and you can possibly earn income from selling the same e-book to another poor sap. The matter of fact is, this is a short term income scheme and the income will trickle out as fast as it came in.

Just like a start-up business, you will experience “hiccup-ups” along the way. If you are afraid to fail, then you are not an Internet Marketer. There are so many times where I’ve started websites and blogs and realized that they were dead-end niches (once I performed keyword analysis on those niches). Be open to criticism and learn when to give-up on one niche and move to another profitable one. Failure is part of the game.

You target social traffic. Many people learn from internet gurus to target social networking traffic. This is a great way to meet friends online, but it’s a poor way to earn money online. The reason is that social networking traffic rarely converts into people clicking on ads. Social networking people want to be entertained; they are not looking to buy a product. When was the last time you clicked on an ad in Facebook?

These are only a few reasons why you won’t make it as an Internet Marketer. Learn from people that know what they’re doing. Sometimes the best information is found on free blogs, not from two dollar e-books.

I always wanted to make money online in affiliate marketing, but nothing I tried worked. I spent money on several programs that guaranteed that they would show me how to make profits using Google, but the programs, at least the ones I received, were useless. In some cases I never got the program I paid for and when I tried to get my money back, I couldn’t reach the company.

So when I stumbled across Google Cash Detective, i figured it was just another scam. Pay $9.99 for a program that never arrives and when you try for a refund, the company has disappeared. I looked the site over anyway, and there were two things I noticed. The first one was the cost of only one dollar, and the second was that nothing was being shipped to me, I could view the videos online as soon as I paid.

Well, I figured that one dollar was little enough for the show, and the entertainment value was probably worth that much. If nothing else, I’d get a laugh out of watching the same old, tired ideas presented as a revolutionary way to make money online.

I owe Google Cash Detective an apology, a big one. The videos actually did offer new ideas that I hadn’t heard before. It offered techniques that didn’t need a lot of time or money for me to implement. It even showed new ways to generate traffic for my website.

This isn’t some magic act where “poof” you’re suddenly rolling in money. You have to take the time to study and implement the ideas for your own business. My first day I made less than ten dollars, but it might have been a million as thrilled as I was to make anything. Hey, got my dollar back. It will take a little longer to recoup the money I spent on those other programs.

I haven’t been doing this even a month yet, but every day I make a little more. It’s not enough to retire on, but I have high hopes that the day is not as far off as I thought it would be. I’m still studying and adding new ideas from the program to increase my web traffic. It’s getting better and better.

The program is offered in a series of videos and you need to watch all of them. They talk about how to chose the right products and link to an affiliate site so you don’t need your own website, how to use keywords to optimize you search engine potential, and how to set up a landing page. There’s a lot more. Look at all of it and get your business up and running.

If you’re looking to work from home, or if you just want to generate a little extra income on the side, this program will work for you. Google Cash Detective is the real deal. Of course I could be lying, but it will only cost you a buck to find out.

We recognize that we shouldn’t judge things based on a quick first impression. However, we are victims of our human nature and make quick judgments as a result. The bottom line is that it is increasingly important for us to write catchy blog post titles so that people choose to read our articles.

The content you write will not be read if you don’t make the effort to write catchy legal blog titles.

Below I’ve listed 5 ways you can increase the responses to your blog post titles:

1. Ask a Question – A provocative question creates curiosity. People want to find out the answer and feel inclined to click through to read more. This is especially true when the question addresses a specific need or concern and promises to answer a problem the reader identifies with. For instance I wrote a popular post a little while back titled: “Lawyer Marketing Definitions: What are RSS Feeds and Why Should I Care?”. People who didn’t know what RSS feeds were clicked through to find out and have the question addressed.

2. Titles on magazines are a great resource – Magazine copywriters are competing with hundreds of other magazines on the rack for your attention. Online articles often work the same way. You can learn from people who have been doing this successfully for a long time. Browse through the titles of articles on magazine covers for ideas.

3. Use Numbers in Your Title and Lists for Your Posts – I’ve said it before and it’s worth repeating: People on the web love lists. It creates concise, bulleted information that can be digested quickly and easily. If you are reading this post right now, you are seeing an example of using a number in the headline to capture a reader’s attention. There is a funny, comedy site called Cracked that does a nice job of using this technique with many of their posts.

4. Address a problem the reader might have – People are most often times focused on themselves and their problems. This is especially true of people looking for legal help. This is why by addressing a problem that a reader might have in the title of your post, you will engage the reader.

5. Give an explanation on how to do something – Take this article as an example. By explaining how to effectively write legal blog post titles, I am explaining how to accomplish something many people need help with. Even though it may seem obvious or routine to a professional, providing basic knowledge to people without your expertise is a big draw.

Remember to keep your titles short when possible. A good rule of thumb is 9 words or less. Also, be sure to capitalize the first letter of each important word in your headline.

After using Adsense for a while you begin to ask yourself what is the Google Adsence secret. There are a few things that you can do to improve earnings. Experimenting is the key, what may work well on one site may not on another.

The first thing you need to realize is that there is no magic pill solution. You will just need to test different things to see what gives a good response and what doesn’t. The first thing that you should try is different ad positions.

Try an ad in a certain placement for a week and at the end of that time write down your results, you may want to come back to that ad placement later.

There are a few positions that seem to offer the best results. Google knows this and they publish a “heat map” pinpointing what they believe are the best placement for ads. If you go into a Google search engine and type in “Adsense heat map” it will be a snap to find.

The top performing ad block is usually directly above the content. This is by no means a rule of thumb and every location should be tracked every week to see how they are performing.

News site ad placement seems to do better at the bottom immediately following the content. As visitors finish reading they are looking for something else to do and an Adsense ad can be that something.

Placing ads on the left side of the page seems to do well, this is because text is usually written from left to right and top to bottom. Each time a person finishes a sentence their eyes return to the left position, which means they have a chance to see your ads.

It is best to have ads that blend in with your site content. If your visitor experiences any kind of eye discomfort they will simply click to a different site. If you choose to promote Adsense a simple website layout is usually the best.

Why should you read web hosting reviews? Isn’t it obvious? You need to read these web hosting reviews in order to choose the right place to use. Not only will these reviews lead you to the best places out there for web hosting, but it will let you know who isn’t really worth looking into at all.

Before looking into the reviews, I decided to check on what kind of web hosting services there were out in internet land. Imagine my surprise when the things that came up I had never heard of half of them. Maybe a bit, but there were so many things, and some of the talk was a bit advanced. But with a web hosting review they spell it out simply.

Dividing the different web hosting services into easily managed categories. Picking out the best site for dedicated servers, customer service, reliability, and many more things. This can help you out tremendously if you are looking for a specific plus about your web hosting service.

How about a VPS or virtual dedicated server? Well it can be a great choice, but were you aware that in most cases you as the customer will be required to fix problems that may occur. Not such a great idea, but you would find out on web hosting reviews all about this too. There are other dedicated web hosting services, where you have a server, but it’s not yours. Though you do have full control, you will be required to maintain security and quality. However if you move on to a dedicated but managed web hosting service you don’t have full control, and you don’t have to keep it safe!

Going on what about the sharing server? It’s one where many sites are on one server. It’s a great option because these hosting services will take care of the problems, usually pretty good. However, a drawback is that you have limited storage room.

Another new choice on the market is that of cloud hosting. You will pay what you use, it’s a very powerful service, but again you don’t have to service it. Clustered hosting is yet another web hosting service, where many servers will host content that is the same.

When you head onto the internet to start looking for one of the above web hosting servers it’s always best to look at the reviews. No doubt with the many types that are available it can easily be missed for the correct type for what you are looking for.

These web hosting reviews are done each month, and it’s a great idea to keep reading them. Even after you have chosen a place to host your web page. You never know when you might need to change to another server. So keep up to see who has the best customer service, or whatever interests you.

Mobile blogging is an exciting phenomenon that is sweeping the blogosphere. One of the reasons why a lot of bloggers are attracted to the medium of blogging in the first place is that they enjoy being able to make frequent updates and posts that keep all of their visitors up to speed with current situations.

Mobile blogs are called moblogs and allow the blogger to give up to the minute reports as they are actually happening. They keep visitors to the blog current in the good or bad events of the day and aid in more rapid international connections.

People have felt that blogging has its limitations due to geography. There is only so much you can blog when you need to go home to do the blog. With mobile blogging, however, you can blog anywhere on anything that might be happening at the time. Mobile blogging devices mean that blogging can happen just about anywhere on the planet.

Mobile blogging is still in its infancy because the technology that makes it possible has only recently hit the global market. The first moblog technology became available over a decade ago, but it is only the past two or three years that mobile web devices have become user-friendly enough to appeal to most consumers.

As camera phones and other mobile technology become more popular, more and more bloggers are getting away from their desks and are hitting the streets. Moblogging is becoming much more widespread that it was even a few months ago, and mobloggers are quickly attracting a lot of attention with the blogging community.

It isnt clear whether or not they will become the dominant form of blogging in years to come. The trend, however, implies that they are here to stay.

Mobile devices make it easy to blog from places and events that are just unfolding. It has the potential to really revolutionize blogging as we know it today. A moblogger who has a camera phone can take photos and blog from famous events s they are happening, just like live television.

A persons mobility and personal control puts mobloggers on the cutting edge of the communication technology of today. It is hard to really know how much the number of and prestige of the mobloggers of the future will do with the new technology.

Consider starting a blog to help you reach your Internet marketing goals and aspirations. Blogging is simple thanks to new websites and tools that make it easy to set up and launch your blog.

Once you determine a specific for your blog and a template, you’re ready to begin posting. Posts are entries you make on your blog that are published instantly.

Many individuals who blog do so on a daily basis. Others only update their blogs once a week. Whether you are updating your content once per week or daily, it’s important to focus on a single theme. Consider the specific goal of your blog and what type of commitment you are willing to make. Start small and be consistent.

Making money with your blog is easy to do and requires little knowledge of revenue producing techniques. Earn revenue through Google Adwords and text links. Google Adwords are easily added to most blog templates, often by a click of a button. Sites like text-link-ads allow you to add links on your blog and get paid on a monthly basis. Both techniques are easy and allow you to generate cash twenty four hours a day.

I have already had a good deal of success making money with my websites and blogs. One of the fastest ways to start generating revenue is by creating a link list and requiring advertisers to pay for their link to be included. Start by creating a section on your site of ‘recommended links’. In the section of recommending links you will also place a link to how to add your link. This should be a link to a specific blog post or website page that tells users how they can advertise on their blog. I personally use a link listing service to take care of this for me. Alternatively you could perform this manually through Paypal.

Having a successful blog is dependent on a variety of things. In my experience, being successful comes down to producing valuable content on a regular basis that is meaningful for a specific audience. The earning capacity of your blog is directly correlated to the traffic you can generate. Once you have the traffic, apply various methods for generating revenue and you’ll be successful.

After using Adsense for a bit you begin to ask yourself what is the big Google Adsence secret. There are a few things that you can do to improve earnings. Experimenting is the key, what may work well on one site may not on another.

The first thing you need to realize is that there is no magic pill solution. You will just need to test different things to see what gives a good response and what doesn’t. The first thing that you should try is different ad positions.

Try an ad in a certain placement for a week and at the end of that time write down your results, you may want to come back to that ad position later.

There are a few positions that seem to offer the best results. Google knows this and they publish a “heat map” pinpointing what they believe are the best placement for ads. If you go into a Google search engine and type in “Adsense heat map” it will be easy to find.

The top performing ad block is usually directly above the content. This is by no means a rule of thumb and every location should be monitored every week to see how they are performing.

News site ad placement seems to do better at the bottom immediately following the content. As visitors finish reading they are looking for something else to do and an Adsense ad can be that something.

Placing ads on the left side of the page seems to do well, this is because text is usually written from left to right and top to bottom. Each time a person finishes a sentence their eyes return to the left position, which means they have a chance to spot your ads.

It is best to have ads that blend in with your content. If your visitor experiences any kind of eye discomfort they will simply click away.

There are numerous web hosting services that are available to look at; it all depends on what service you are looking for. A lot of people are looking for a service that is free, but those free web hosting spots have their downfalls. Not much space that is available, which means limited storage for you.

Also shared web hosting, which is when you have your website on a server with many other websites. With this type of web hosting the amount of RAM will be used in between the different websites. Reseller web hosting is available too, which the spot is hosted by the clients. With reseller sites you may get more space for your web page.

Still you will need to know what the different categories are about too. Obviously it’s easy to understand what the web hosting review means by customer service. But how about a dedicated server, there are a couple of different types of dedicated servers. One is managed and the other is unmanaged. So while reading that review check that out. With an unmanaged dedicated server you have complete control. But you will also need to take care of the problems that come up. So if you’re not very computer savvy, you may want to ensure the review is talking about a managed dedicated site.

Starting to get confused yet? Don’t worry there are still more web hosting services out there. Collocation web hosting would be a server you will own, will be placed by the company who is the host in a safe place. Not only that but they will service it and keep up with any problems. Possible the best of all choices listed so far.

Say you love making your web page up with Microsoft FrontPage? Then you need to make sure the category you look into for reviews is the best site for that. There are many different design tools that can be used to create and correct the looks of your web page. The web hosting reviews divide up the different categories to help you out there too.

Or maybe you’re not even on Windows, but Linux or some other operating system. These web hosting reviews will give you the best servers that will work with those systems too. It’s a great thing; they have seemed to take everything into deciding how to make these reviews best for all users out there.

These web hosting reviews are done each month, and it’s a great idea to keep reading them. Even after you have chosen a place to host your web page. You never know when you might need to change to another server. So keep up to see who has the best customer service, or whatever interests you.

Many people have aspirations of earning money online only to have them crushed once they find how difficult it is. People keep making the same common mistakes over and over again that make them fail miserably. Here are the reasons why you won’t make it as an internet marketer.

You do not have enough patience. People are about instant gratification. If they do not see fast results, they tend to give up. Just like weight-loss, there is no magic-bullet to earning money online. Simply put, you have to put in the time and effort, just like a regular business to succeed as an Internet Marketer. Many people can only see the short term outcome and do not see benefit of sticking it out for the long-term benefit. Making money in this profession takes a lot of patience and is something that most people just do not have.

You do not know search engine optimization. Proper SEO knowledge will let you work smarter, not harder. On-page SEO and Off-page SEO should be learned BEFORE you start your campaign to earn money.

These are only a few reasons why you won’t make it as an Internet Marketer. Learn from people that know what they’re doing. Sometimes the best information is found on free blogs, not from two dollar e-books.

With a new edition of OK to Make Money Online, we are going to look at Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is just a fancy term for teaching Google about your website so it can send the best traffic your way and place the proper ads on your page.

Most web sites do not focus on keywords or keyword optimization. The website authors do not do the proper keyword research and so the pages and the site are not keyword optimized. Then when Google spiders the site what does it find? A whole bunch of keywords but very little uniformity, and if by accident there is some keyword uniformity, what is the keyword? Worse yet the keyword or long tail keywords don’t even pertain to the main subject of the site.

So what is a webster to do? Take a hard look at your website or blog: what is the main subject? Do you have multiple subjects? Are the subjects related? Is your visual subject different from your textual subject?

Now that you have looked over your site, what is you main topic? If your website were a dog, would it be a purebred pedigree or a mutt? If it’s a pedigree, read on. If it is a mutt, we have to fix it now. Start by breaking the site into major topics like your house, bathroom, kitchen, bedroom, etc.

Now for each major topic, you will need to create a blog or website. However, first you need to research the keyword you will use for each of your major topics. This is where Google’s Keyword Tool (under Adwords) comes in to play. When you use this tool properly, it will help you to focus on a proper keyword or long tail keyword.

Once you have found a keyword for each of your major topics it is time to create a blog or website. Remember; keep the website focused on a single topic or keyword. The topic or keyword should be in your URL name, the website title, privacy page, the about you page, etc. Use the keyword as often as possible but still make the pages enjoyable and readable. Continue doing this on each new website for the rest of your keywords.

Take any articles that were already on your old site and rewrite them using the appropriate keyword for the article. Make sure you use your keyword or phrase in the title, opening paragraph, body and closing paragraph. Copy that article to the new website and publish it.

Some articles will contain pictures. Make sure you have your keyword or keyword phrase in the description area of the picture, usually found in the HTML code. This is often the text that is displayed while you are waiting for the picture to be displayed.

However don’t overdo it! Overuse was used by Black Hats to trick Google. Google now detects if you overuse a keyword, and will flag you for keyword stuffing.

Review of the rules: make sure your site sticks to one topic, make sure you research your keyword or long tail keyword, and use your keywords in every article and page on your site to make money online. Then as always, get as many backlinks to your site as you can (i.e. traffic).

Mobile blogging is still very new because the latest in this technology has just come out. In actuality, however, the mobile blogging took place over ten years ago but the newer devices (that are more user friendly) just came out 2-3 years ago.

Mobile blogging devices mean that you can blog even as the events are taking place. This is what thrills mobloggers and why it had the potential to change the blogosphere. Any moblogger with just a camera phone can take photos from events that are happening, such as the Super bowl or the World Series, so that the bloggers audience can experience whats happening in real time.

This enables bloggers to experience the same real time thrills that live television coverage provides, but in a more democratic medium. The combination of mobility and individual control that moblogging provides certainly places mobloggers on the cutting edge of today’s communications technology, and it is hard to imagine that the number and prestige of moblogs will not continue to grow in the coming years.

Take most sites: they are all over the place with the subject matter. One article may be about shoes, another about clothes and on the same site cooking utensils. So how does Google rate the site and what ads does it display? We have to help Google out here and in response, they will rate your page higher in page ranking.

We need to make your site single purpose. So let’s say you have a site that covers many categories or subjects. We need to break it up into niches, with each niche having a single subject or keyword. Then Google will be able to correctly categorize your site by keyword. So: one subject per niche.

Now for each major topic, you will need to create a blog or website. However, first you need to research the keyword you will use for each of your major topics. This is where Google’s Keyword Tool (under Adwords) comes in to play. When you use this tool properly, it will help you to focus on a proper keyword or long tail keyword.

When you have gathered your keywords, run over to Blogger or check the URLs for your keyword being available. If it’s not, add a few words to the back or front to create a unique keyword, but don’t use hyphens to separate your keywords. After installing your site, create your privacy page, about page and your introductory page making sure to use your keyword.

If you are working from a site that is too general, break the articles up, rewrite them using your new-found keywords, and copy them over to your new sites, according to category/keyword. Make sure to use your keyword in the title, first paragraph, once or twice in the body, and in the last paragraph.

Does your site contain pictures? Good! Make sure that every picture has a sentence or caption that includes your keyword.

Last, make sure not to exceed one or two uses of your keyword per one hundred article body words, or Google may flag you site for keyword stuffing and sandbox you until you correct the problem.

Review of the rules: make sure your site sticks to one topic, make sure you research your keyword or long tail keyword, and use your keywords in every article and page on your site to make money online. Then as always, get as many backlinks to your site as you can (i.e. traffic).

The earning ability of your blog is directly correlated to the traffic you can create. Once you have the traffic, apply various methods for generating revenue and you’ll be successful.

In this article of OK to Make Money Online; let’s look at one of the causes. Somebody out there is telling you that social networking traffic is a great resource for your site. Well, no it is not, and may in fact lower your CTR (click through rate).

Traffic that is purchase-oriented is on a hunt or quest to find that product or service that fills their current need. They may be doing research, product comparison, or pricing. They are looking to get in, purchase, and get out. Until a store has places where people that know each other can have an in-store, online conversation, they are there to shop, or at least that is what the store owner wants and how you make money.

When you direct traffic from a social networking site to your site, you must make it the latest buzz. The “must have that thing” to be cool. Again, you are directing a buyer. Who cares if it’s the latest pet rock craze they are a buyer. Nevertheless, if it is not a craze or the latest “got to have,” then Google will detect this and so will the advertiser. When this happens, Google will place low performing ads in your Adsense slots and you will not make money.

Remember, your job is to promote your keyword, which is most likely a product or service to make money. While promoting your keyword, you help Google. How? By giving the buyer an entry or landing place for his search request, which you in turn points them to your site, and ultimately on to the advertiser. If we have all done our jobs, and the buyer and advertiser are happy, we get paid.

So the best thing you can do for yourself is write good articles that promote your keyword, and hence the advertiser’s product or service. Then Google rewards you with better performing ads. Remember: Google wants you to be the leading expert and the most popular guy/girl on the block. Not for the social network groups, but for the purchasing groups or groups that will be converted to buyers. And isn’t this what you want to do to make money.

In OK to Make Money Online today, let’s look at why your CTR (click through rate) just dropped to the floor. Maybe a friend, co-worker, or an article you read told you the latest thing was the new social networks, and that these networks could drive loads of traffic to your site. Then it occurred to you — more traffic, more money. But your CTR starting dropping just after you started getting tons of traffic from one of the social networks! Why?

Here’s why: Traffic generated from social networks is interested in socializing, not buying. They want to talk about life, their day, their boss, or whatever. They are not in a buying mood. Oh, they will look at what you have and maybe poke a few buttons, but they will soon get bored and click away and you will not make money. The traffic you want is purchase-driven or wanting the newest thing and ready to buy. They may be doing research or price shopping, so you will help them by directing them to their next purchase.

When you bought into the social network hype, you bought into the producers of social networks’ promotion of their product. What is their product? Socializing! However, is that what you are promoting? If so, great! You can stop reading now and go back to making money. If not, and if your keyword is not targeted on the latest “got to have it” craze, then you don’t belong in a social network. When Google detects your error, they will downgrade your ads until you get it.

If you are a white hat, then you know you have a responsibility to the buyer and the advertiser. You are there as an intermediary to entice the buyer to your site and direct them to a product or service to make money. Why do you think sites like Grizzle and “The Keyword Academy” are so popular? They have great, informative content that you want to go back to again and again. Google knows this and directs good solid traffic from high-ranking SERP(search engine results page) to their sites.

The Internet is a huge collection of data and information. To date, it contains billions of web pages and sites that housed all sorts of it. Search engines are making our lives easier by furnishing us with results once we enter some magical keywords in its text boxes. With just a split of a second, multitude of web sites in lieu with your keywords are shown and are sorted accordingly.

If you happened to be a site builder or even an Internet blogger, getting your sites to be published on the top of those search engines requires hard work and labour. When I say hard work, it literally means tiring tasks and tedious activities to emerge at the top. As with any rankings irregardless of medium, proper dedication and the right amount of effort is the true concoction to achieve such most coveted place.

When one would create a blog there are four core divisions that must be met and done. First thing is to set the blog. Setting the blog is simply allocating a domain and a server as to where one would host and publish it. The second core aspect is writing its content. A blog is a good environment to circulate a particular piece of information. It can be staged on different topics that the author wants the world to know and to see or it can even be products that the writer wants to promote and patronize. In this second step, the author would now start inculcating his thoughts and output it in words understandable by his/her chosen audience. The writer then published the work on the domain or the site where the blog would be posted.

The third division is promoting the traffic to the blog. Of course when you would create a piece that you work yourself, it is but proper to let others read it and review it. But by merely posting it and not advertising it, it would just be a piece of trash. And to make it to the desired rankings, it is a must that your blog or your domain must be visited by a large number of visitors. Thus, traffic is an important aspect in creating a blog. After bringing in your visitors, it is time for the last division which is monetizing the traffic. Of course, with your readers, they can help you not only boost your rankings but also your earnings in the Internet realm.

Given the four aspects in blog creation, I must say it is really a gruelling task to uphold. But fret no more, the newest generation in uplifting these four tasks into easier ones is here. It is called Firepow.

People are always like that, when they are busy, they’ll complain about having too much workload; when they are on holiday, they’ll complain about having too much free time! If I offended you, I’m sorry! But at least I am such a person!

In the movie a girl is going to have her wedding party on a pretty little island that she lives with her mother since she was born. However, she actually has no idea of who her father is, since her mother had three ex-boyfriends (they came one by one!) before the girl was born. So she invites all her three ‘fathers’ to witness her wedding.

The movie talks about a girl’s wedding on a lovely little island that she and her mother live on. From birth, she does not really know who her father exactly is as her mother had three consecutive boyfriends before giving birth to her. So she makes up her mind to invite all the three ‘fathers’ to witness her wedding.

They have a marvelous party in the evening. There is a live band and the mother and her friends, ‘the dancing queens’ sing and dance and everybody dances together with gorgeous costumes! The party is so great!

In the evening, they have a very amazing party. Live band on show and the girl’s mother and two aunts, ‘the dancing queens’ sing and the party is on full swing! All people dance happily together!

These are all what I dream for my wedding if I am having my wedding in summer time! I would like my party to be held on a lovely little island with blue water and sunny days! And my party will be from afternoon till evening.

The party will start on an awesome beach , everyone having cocktail and swimming there with the hottest bikini girls and strong men walking around! May be I can travel around the island in a hot air balloon! In the evening the party moves in-house and everybody continues the blast with beer , cocktail, champagne, vodka and so on! Great!

That is really great and exciting! How about if my honey would like a winter wedding? I am still planning! So how about your dream wedding? Party with bikini girls? On a beach or under-water? That sounds great too! Day-dreaming always gives us fun so why not think about your own dream wedding?

Earning blogging money is possible, though it isn’t quite as easy as it might look. The first thing you need to do is look for some great blog ideas. There are so many different topics you can write about, you just need to spend some time looking for one that you can really enjoy and stick to.

How to Start

The most important factor when it comes to your chance of making money online is to base this on a solid plan that you know will work. I know that it can be very easy to get overwhelmed with new ideas, which is why coming up with a plan that you can stick to will greatly improve your chance of success.

The real reason that so many people fail at making any money from blogging is that they quickly get overwhelmed. If this is true, then please don’t give up! There are many others like you, but there are ways to get away from this feeling. I’m not an expert, but I’m just sharing a few tips that I’ve used when I’ve been in the exact same situation. I have found that documenting my journey has helped me more than anything.

I also looked for an online program that could help my mind to focus a little more, and provide me with the kind of plan that is so necessary to online success. There are loads of programs out there if you have a look, but for me the best ones always help you out when you’re stuck, give you a solid plan of action, and motivate you to meet your goals. This is great for anyone who is new to online money-making, as well as those who are a little more experienced in earning blogging money.

Making Money from Your Blogging Idea

Before I signed up to my blogging program, I had a few ideas as well as a number of blogs I had already set up in the past. However, I didn’t realise just how all over the place these were until I started working towards a plan.

The key to being motivated all the time is to find an idea that really inspires you. This could be a hobby or just something you’re interested in learning more about. By writing about this every week you will find your income going up all the time.

Good luck in finding some great ideas and earning some blogging money!
