Are you own an online business owner who has recently opened your cyber-doors? Are you getting a few sales but nothing particularly notable? This is a common experience for online business owners who have just set up shop and are testing the waters.

How do you know if you’re succeeding? If you’re only breaking even or worse – if you’re not even covering your costs – you could be in trouble already. And if you don’t turn it around, all that hard labor setting up is going to go to waste.

But how are you going to turn it around? How can you position your business, get known and draw in the customers? You’re highly motivated to succeed and you look for help. The obvious place to seek solutions is on the internet.

There’s plenty of free information out there. It may include:

- Articles

- Reports

- Guides

- Newsletters

- E-Courses

Will they have the information you need? Many of these resources will only give you the basics. You need more depth, greater detail and better tips to make sure that your fledgling business takes off. The information is out there all right. But this is knowledge you’ll find you have to

Buy!

You’re the customer in this scenario, not the information marketer. Step back and look at it from the marketer’s point of view.

You are the one providing them with the information they’ll pay for. How does this make them a massive money making market? Think about this:

Business owners who are driven to succeed are ready to purchase that information instead of picking up freebies, and they could pay good money for it. It costs little or nothing to produce the information and create a product and sell it on – for prices ranging from $20 to as much as $100 in some cases.

Think how many people out there are operating online businesses. New enterprises are opening up every day, all seeking exciting and innovative ways to get their business noticed in the business community. You have a ready-made and growing market.

Ambitious business owners will pay for what they need to make their business a cut above the rest. That desire is what you can tap into. There’s a long list of topics and products you can provide to satisfy that desire and make sales.

The information products they would be willing to pay for can include:

- EBooks

- Reports

- E-Courses

- Memberships To informational items

- Guides

- E-Zines

Quality always sells. If you can provide top quality information then you have customers already prepared to buy from you.

About the Author:

In times past people had libraries of books in there home encyclopedias, dictionaries, medical books, cook books all the information they needed for daily life was housed in those books. Those days are over. When people seek information now they turn to one simple source the internet. Rather than flipping through thousands of pages in huge books they click and browse until they find whatever information they need.

Because information is what people seek, making information available will draw traffic to your site. So no matter type of product you are selling or promoting, make information part of your merchandise and you will see an increase in viewers.

Although it is an option, it is not necessary to sell the information you offer. It can be just as profitable to you to use it simply as a lure to get people to view your site. You can offer on line courses, give special reports and other information that people are seeking.

A special report is a smaller than an e-book, usually about 10 15 pages; these can be written rather quickly and work great as a marketing tool. Think about the things you have for sell, or the items you are an affiliate for. Pick a group of complimentary items and write a special report around them. For instance, if you sell cosmetics, create a special report about quick and easy summer beauty fixes. Advertise your own products within the report.

Write your report in a way that is especially appeals to your target audience. For example if you promote or are an affiliate for companies who promote skin care products write an article on women’s health. In your article include a paragraph on the importance of healthy skin and include a link to your affiliates that will direct your readers to good skin care products.

Everyone loves a free gift. Make your special report a gift for signing up for your mailing list or newsletter. Your customers will be happy to receive free information. You will be happy to watch your customer base grow.

The information you offer does not have to be free of charge. For example, if you promote tools you might offer a few “how to” lessons on areas of home improvement. You could charge a small fee for the lessons and within each lesson refer your readers to tools that will make the job easier. Provide them with a link to your site or the site of your affiliates so they can easily view the product.

People are definitely hungry for information and if you can provide them quality information that answers their questions, you will notice an increase in your traffic (and profits).

Free For All Sites (FFA) are sites where a person is able to post a link with a short ad to a website, many times it also posts to many other similar sites at the same time, creating free advertising and free backlinks to the poster. When someone posts a link, they are agreeing whether they know it or not, to receive a confirmation email back from the site’s owner.

What seems to happen though is many people see this as free advertising and get angry when, not only do they not see a flood of sales come pouring in, but they start receiving other people’s offers. I know when the first time it happened to me, I couldn’t figure out what was going on and was frustrated at the results.

Let’s back the truck up a minute and really explore what just happened and the true purpose of a FFA site. The real purpose is for the site owner to promote his business or product to you. He’s just just being a nice person giving people free advertising space. If it worked that way, he’d be using it as his own goldmine. This is just the bait so people will post their site, so they can send their offers to you via their confirmation link. Brilliant isn’t it?

The confirmation emails you receive are not considered spam, as you had agreed to receive them for the privilege of posting on their site. Who reads these ads anyways? Is posting to FFA’s a total waste of time then? Not necessarily, as you will get an occasional sale, people do go back and post repeated ads and sometimes take a quick look while trying to see where their links are.

To get the real benefit of FFAs for your business, get your own FFA site so you can promote to those who post to it. Shop around among the many resources of them to find which suites you best. Most have paid and free versions, but the saying “you get what you pay for” comes to mind here. I have done several paid versions that more than compensated for their cost.

Many things can be promoted through FFA sites, information products, crafts, vitamins, and anything else you are selling. If you don’t have traffic coming to your site, it doesn’t matter how great what you have is, you won’t have sales. These sites provide methods to get traffic to your site. Free classified websites work in pretty much the same concept and can be another method worth pursuing.

Are You just really sick and tired of being sick and tired? …If you work from home like I do I bet you have tried everything to get your MLM business off the ground. But I have found out that my upline is dead wrong…I just can no longer take old-school MLM business building tactics.

Over the past year I have come to the conclusion that most MLMers can take their stupid rah-rah buttons, fliers to put up in the neighborhood, door-hangers, and hotel room pitches, and put them where the sun doesn’t shine…Are you getting my drift.

Being a child of the Internet age I am not inclined to go out and badger strangers at a mall, or spend hours on the phone talking to people more desperate and broke than I am. I want to wake up in the morning to my coffee and a full email inbox. This is after all the Internet Age! So I needed to find a way to get my Upline to Wake up! Did you know that 99% of network marketers don’t have a clue about how Web 2.0 works, Do You?

You need to be aware of how to generate online traffic and lead generation through capture pages. It is of value to have a formula so that you can do this again and again to allow you to build a time-less, work-at-home business that can help protect you against: Market changes, Downline attrition, and Competition

So in this new Web 2.0 era, you want to learn how to generate leads online and also figure out what to do with them. So this is where the real “thinking” comes into play, and it’s what will ultimately determine if you’re successful or not.

First Step is to build the blue print for your MLM program. This will give you the mindset you need to work in this industry, inspire your prospects, and understand your current competition who will someday be a part of your downline once you learn this…

Second Step is to learn how to generate endless online Traffic. You will learn how to use things like blogs, Google Adwords, search engines, articles, press-releases, and CPA networks. The next part of this step is knowing how to turn this traffic into live, exclusive leads for your opportunity.

The third step will be to understand how to make money from your list. You can either sponsor them with your primary opportunity, or if they are not ready then promote secondary products or services, making them customers of your products first. You can also create and market your own information product to sell to them.

These were just 3 steps in the formula I use to move Network Marketing prospects out of the Mall and on to the Internet. It is helping me build my business bigger and bigger everyday, I hope you found this helpful as well…The world is now my oyster…it can be yours too.

In the last article, I showed you how to increase the value of your PDF ebook by adding valuable elements like a table of contents and list of resources. Today, we’ll take your PDF e-books to the next level, adding even more value to improve sales and customer satisfaction, while minimizing returns.

Make sure that all your text is 12-point – Times New Roman is a good choice for long blocks of text. Pictures and graphics should be enlarged so they can be easily read. Adding comics and other graphics will make your ebook more visually appealing. All these steps add bulk to your ebook, while increasing its value to your readers.

“Johnson boxes” are those little boxes which include an important point, separated from the rest of the text for added emphasis. Add them every two or three pages – that will add meat to your document, while cluing your reader in to the important points you are presenting.

Use your e-book to tell the readers about other products you offer. One of the biggest reasons to publish an ebook is to inform your audience about what you have to offer. Add a list of products, complete with clickable links, so your readers can find those products. Three-dimensional cover shots will add visual interest, bulk up your content, and increase sales. It’s easy to do – if you can’t do it, find someone who can.

Finally, provide checklists and cheat sheets for your customers. People eat this stuff up! Any topic that has more than a few steps is better understood with a checklist. Tell your readers what to do and in what order to do them. Cheat sheets are great for technical things. Settings for a software. Settings for a camera. Tips for interviewing someone. Things not to miss when buying a new home. How to convert publisher files to a PDF ebooks. All of these work well with cheat sheets. And your customers will love them!

You can even provide sample forms, contracts, spread sheets, etc. for your customers. Why make them re-invent the wheel? Think about this when writing a ebook.

These simple tips will add meat to your e-book. By adding value to your product, you will have happier customers, healthy sales, and fewer returns. To your customers, it’s all about the value – give ‘em what they want, and your product will be a success.

Whether you want to start an internet business in South Carolina, California, Canada, Egpyt, or anywhere else in the world, the principles are all the same. It is going to take some dedication and lots of focus to get underway.

Way to many people spend much more than is needed in order to get their internet business up and running. You do not need to invest large sums of money. All you need is money for webhosting and some side cash for monthly work.

What are some of the ways you can begin to sell online? You can promote other people’s products, sell on eBay, or even sell your own product. The best model I believe, is to get yourself a website and learn how to promote it.

Placing ads in relevant categories around the internet is also a crucial way to get targeted visitors and sales. When you look around eBay for example, do you normally browse categories that you have no interest in?

If you are anxious about wanting your own product, let me advise you to hold off for now. The primary reason I warn against your own product in the beginning is because you have to learn how to promote products first.

Information products are one of the hottest items you can be selling via the internet. The reason being is that people love information. Everyone wants to know something on a particular topic, so you will never run out of ideas.

I started my career as an affiliate marketer and I highly suggest you take a look into it as well. It allows people to sell products they do not own, they do not have to deal with customer service, and all you do is collect the check.

Making millions of dollars online overnight is possible, but only after you have been marketing for a very long time. There are no overnight tricks or tactics, contrary to what you may be thinking.

Don’t get what I call “Internet ADD” and jump around to the “next best thing”. Once you create a plan of what you want to do, stick to it. You will be much better off in the long run.

Before beginning to sell information products online, make sure that you are targeting a niche that will be profitable in the short-term as well as in the future. Your niche is simply a different way of saying your target audience.

Some niches, as you’ll discover, aren’t as profitable as others. You need to look at your audience and see if they’re willing (and able) to spend money for the solutions they’re seeking.

For instance, golfers have deep pockets because the game of golf in itself is expensive. They’re also rabid fans of the game who would do anything to improve their score or beat their competitors on the links.

Another potential target audience such as single moms on a budget may be reluctant to pay $67 for an eBook on getting organized, but if you target a different problem of theirs they are willing to pay. For instance, many may be willing to pay $47 for an eBook which teaches them how to make more money working at home than they make on their 9-5 jobs.

One excellent place to begin is with checking out online groups and forums. You can visit iVillage, or Yahoo groups, Google groups, or Boardtracker and determine what sort of groups garner the most posts. Men’s groups such as AskMen might provide some insight into which types of information products this segment of the population might need which you can provide at a handsome profit.

You’re not only looking for large group of people to market to – you are looking for the large group that has a lot of problems in common which need solutions. As you start creating information products, you will want to concentrate on building a whole line of products in one niche to begin with. This will allow you to market to loyal existing customers who will buy from you many different times.

In some instances, you’ll find a large niche market and then realize you need to develop your information product line around a more targeted, narrow section of that niche. For example, parents are a group with plenty of problems you could potentially address. Raising intelligent kids, saving money, preventing drug and dealing with discipline, use might be a few.

But you can then narrow that niche to moms or dads and dig deeper by focusing on parents of multiples or parents raising kids with physical ailments. Just remember that an information product is not really a product at all – it’s a solution, so it needs to be marketed as something that will improve lives

In the next couple of weeks I will publish a series of articles, each will detail a step on the way to a rewarding affiliate marketing business. The first article is written for people who are completely new to the subject and are still looking for information. I will suggest a simple definition of affiliate marketing and show some simple ideas for finding lucrative products.

If you are an experienced marketer, or if you understand the concept and know how to locate products, this article is not for you. The following articles will include more advanced steps and even experienced marketers may find them interesting.

Let’s start by trying to define “affiliate marketing”. I always say that there is a similarity between Affiliate Marketing and the California Gold Rush of the 19th century. The fortune is there and you have to uncover it. Anyway, back to the definition: the affiliate marketer (you) gets a nice commission from the product seller every time a purchase is made by one of the visitors that you have sent to their sale page.

Roughly, you’ll find three types of products: material ones – from shoes to yachts; information products – videos, software, ebooks, that are instantly downloaded to the purchaser’s computer; and subscriptions to newsletters, registrations to a course etc. Thousands and thousands of sellers pay commission to affiliates for purchases and for leads.

So, you see, the gold is there, all over Internet Marketing World. The question is how to find it. And, indeed, many people who decide to try affiliate marketing discover that the first step they need to take, i.e. finding the right product to promote, is the most difficult part of the whole process.

Let me suggest a few ideas for starters:

1. Have you ever purchased a product online which you really liked? Why not try to become an affiliate? Go to the product’s site or sales letter, click on the “affiliate program” link. You’ll find there all the information you need.

2. Think about your hobbies. Subjects you are really interested in, such as sewing, poker playing, gardening, anything. You may know a lot about your hobby and perhaps you are a member of some forums. This will come very handy when you are ready to promote the product you choose. For instance, if your hobby is poker. You play with friends on weekends; you watch the TV poker shows. Search for a poker learning software or course that you can easily promote.

3. Do a little research on the Internet. Think of products that do very well in the United States but are unknown to Europeans, become an affiliate and promote the product using Google Adwords campaigns in Europe. You can do the same with a product that you’ve discovered in Europe, or any foreign country, and promote it in North America.

4. Follow the popular products on your kids’ list. Talk to them and to their friends or to any group of teenagers to find out what they like. These are usually best selling items.

5. Make a habit of looking at the popular magazines. They usually report on the latest trends and fashionable products.

6. And let’s not forget the obvious: register to become an affiliate at Commision Junction, ClickBank and other Providers of affiliate programs. Search their marketplace to find their best selling products.

In Article 2 I will describe the second step on the way to rewarding affiliate marketing.

Audio is becoming the “next big thing” on the internet lately. We’re finding welcome messages on websites, audio blogging, podcasts, even audio newsletters sent out once or twice a month. Internet surfers are enjoying audio and today’s technology is making it so simple for us to download audio to our MP3 players, listening to it whenever we like.

You can take audio files that you had for any interviews you are conducting for information products or articles and make money with them in other ways. You can do this in the following ways:

By offering a product upgrade: If you have already created a written info product (ebook or special report) and have conducted interviews while doing research for the product, you can then offer the audio files as an upgrade to the base product. For instance, if you offer the basic product for $19.99, you can include the audio files to the customer for an upgraded price of $24.95 or higher, depending on how much audio there is to accompany the product.

Product Downgrade: On the opposite side of the above description, you can use audio files as a downgrade to an existing product. If you have a coaching program that includes written guides, audio interviews with experts, and one-on-one or group coaching, you could offer the audio interviews as a downgrade for those who can’t afford the whole package. For example, you could price the total package at $199, but offer the audios for those that want to “self-study” for a price of $75. Those that can’t afford $199 will feel that they are getting a good bargain, and you will have turned a “non-sell” into a $75 sell.

Audio Information Product: In addition to the product upgrade and downgrade features, you could offer audio files as entirely new information products. In addition to selling interviews with experts you recorded as research for existing information products, you could invite people who have already purchased the product onto a teleconference line for a question and answer session with you, and possibly, the other experts you interviewed when creating the product. You could record the q&a session and offer it to all future customers.

Seminar Series: A great way to generate some traffic for your site, create buzz, and make money is to offer a seminar series. You can approach other business owners that your target market will find interesting and ask if they would like to be a part of your seminar series.

Depending on how much traffic you currently have, you may be able to charge the presenters a fee to have a spot in your seminar as well. You can opt to allow people to dial in on a teleconference line or meet in a web conference room and listen to the live seminar for free, and then charge a fee for access to the recordings of the seminars. Alternatively, you can charge a fee upfront and only give paying customers access to the live seminars.

As you can see, there are numerous ways to make money with your interviews. You will find readers will enjoy hearing your voice, as well as hearing from other experts. With a little organization, you can bring a whole new stream of income with your audio interviews.

Just about everybody knows about the high margins created by information products. Information products routinely command 10, 25, or even 100 times the cost of the product whether it takes the form of a book, ebook, CD, DVD, or online video course. It should come as no surprise the number of information publishers is growing rapidly. Huge margins like that are attractive.

There are many mediums from which to choose for information products but DVDs might be the best way to go. Don’t listen to the misguided fools who’ll try to tell how difficult is to make a DVD, how you’ll have to buy expensive software, and how you’ll have to deal if inventory & shipping nightmares because none of that is true. The reality is those people are too lazy to look around and see how simple it is to create a DVD information product.

The fact is that DVDs are very simple to make and don’t require investing in expensive software. In fact, I create DVDs without spending a nickel. Yes it does require a few software programs but the ones I use are freely available on the Internet and they work incredibly well. In fact, the software I use to convert avi files to DVD files comes with an incredible support forum that answered my questions within 24 hours. That’s better service than a lot of products I’ve actually paid for.

There are many ways to handle the manufacturing & shipping of your DVDs. I prefer a service called Kunaki which takes care of the manufacturing and shipping of the DVDs in real-time as the orders come in. The costs are very reasonable at $1.75 for the DVD & cover plus a $3 handling charge which is passed on to the customer. Kunaki offers several reasonably priced options for shipping both in the US and internationally. The product can be shipped via expedited shipping methods if customers want to pay for it. To get started you simply upload the files to Kunaki via their website and start taking orders. It couldn’t be any easier.

DVDs are attractive to information marketers for several reasons. First of all, there’s the high perceived value of DVDs when compared to books or online videos. What’s the price of a book? Anyone can go to a bookstore anywhere in the US and purchase a book for $20 or less. You’re likely to be disappointed if you expect to sell your book for more than $20. By contrast, DVDs are routinely sold for $100 or more…and the cost of the manufacturing the DVD is $1.75 including the cover. That leaves a lot of room for huge profit margins. And there’s no middleman to share the profits with since you’re self-publishing your DVD.

It gets better because Kunaki gives you the choice to add a UPC code to your DVD. If this doesn’t excite you, consider that the UPC code allows you to easily sell your DVD on Amazon. That provides instant credibility. You can show people the DVD you’re selling on Amazon while most information publishers are struggling to sell a few DVDs.

DVDs aren’t restricted to videos either. There are data DVDs on which you can put software programs or many other types of data or information. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are too many reasons for creating DVD information products to be covered in a single article.

13-year-old web prodigy David Wilkinson has just released his first info product, available for instant purchase at http://Affiliateredefined.com

David, also known as “the affiliate kid“, received his first big break as a guest blogger on Problogger, which is a highly trafficked weblog. David (who was just twelve years of age at the time) posted a blog article entitled “Drive Traffic To Your Blog – The Advice of a 12-year-old.”

This initial article got him on the Digg.com site, which directed a stream of 10,000 visitors to visit his domain in the span of an hour (a phenomenon commonly known in Internet circles as “the Digg effect”). He also shows an advanced understanding of email marketing, including tips to improve opt-in rates and advice on how to turn subscribers into buyers. There is priceless information in this section and this can keep the reader from taking incorrect steps regarding their email marketing campaigns.

Bottom line, an email list is useless if there is no way to turn subscribers into buyers. David has some excellent methods and techniques to help turn email lists into profit areas.

Affiliate Defined also encompasses viral marketing, including how to properly go about it. David has spent the past 12 months compiling information and revising it so that it offers genuine value to his readers. It features brand new content that has been proven to work in 2008, not old data that worked in the past but is no longer useful.

At 221 pages, there is far too much to cover in a single article, so do yourself a favor and head over to David Wilkinson’s site and check it out for yourself.

The concept of “business” is defined by arranging for goods and services and encompasses the commercial, financial, and industrial realms. People have conducted business in some form longer than recorded history. In ancient times, a barter system predominated, whereby one party would trade a commodity to another party for another commodity without the concept of money.

There are many reasons that a new or established business will consult a marketing coach. However the reasons are slightly different between the two. The need for a small business marketing consulting firm is vital in today’s business climate. In a competitive market you have to remain competitive and thus your business needs a great marketing strategy.

The importance of a marketing coach lies in the fact that there can be two very different marketing strategies for the same business or even the product. Hence you should choose exceptional marketing strategies so that your business and product remains competitive for which a marketing coach is needed.

A marketing coach can minimize the difficulty of portraying information products to the many categories of persons found within certain demographics. Through the development of many different plans of action, they can help ensure that your product is successfully marketed to all potential buyers within the targeted demographic groups.

One skilled marketing consultant can make a larger impact than a whole marketing department. A one on one marketing expert can increase the impact your business has because they have more latitude to work from personal experience and can take your department to the next level, versus having suggestions being made by “committee” or under the time crunch that a marketing department might be required to perform under.

Marketing is an important function which can make a business a huge success. No matter how good your product it, but if you do not market it to the right people, the sales will be low. Marketing ensures that you are attracting more customers to your product than you would have done without marketing. This means that with marketing your business will have an increase in sales.

In this way businesses will need to ensure that they are making good decisions in choosing a marketing coach. A new business will want to ensure they choose a coach that focuses on developing their business and not just a single product line. However, an established business needs to choose a coach that will ensure that their new product is being marketed successfully to their established business image.

Small businesses can be run efficiently, with great and innovative ideas, but they will never be successful without adequate marketing. Some products, such as information products, can be especially difficult to market, and so an outside consultant with more resources and experience can make all the difference in how well the product sells. Ideally, you should look for small business marketing consulting to find people who are experienced in marketing specifically for small businesses. Possibly they will provide you with a marketing coach, who can update an in-house marketing system to make it more efficient and effective.
