Over the years, the industry of internet marketing has developed to the point where incorporating an online marketing plan is absolutely essential for any company wanting to succeed in the future. Search engine marketing and search engine optimization are the most popular forms of internet marketing as they can drive lots of targeted traffic to your website. Down below is a list of some of the most important lessons about the strengths and weaknesses of search as a medium:

– Search should not be thought of as a stand alone marketing medium – PPC (Paid Search) is better for accomplishing some goals than SEO is – SEO is better for accomplishing some goals than PPC is – Content is KING – Content is KING (did we say that already?)

Perhaps one of the most powerful of these lessons however, is that as powerful as search is, it CANNOT compensate for a faulty business model.

Faulty Business Model

Sure, in the short term a good SEO can help. Those rankings will often bring in some business through targeted traffic from the major search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN. Unfortunately, those same good rankings can also help to conceal problems within the business model.

What is a Good Business Model?

What does a good business model consist of? It’s usually a direct function of the relative value:price ratio for a product or service amongst competitors, sprinkled with a whole lot of common sense.

However, if anything is amiss – the company is doomed for failure, expert SEO or not.

Why Are Companies with Faulty Business Models Doomed?

Companies with faulty business models are doomed for a number of reasons. Primarily however, they’re doomed because search engines want to recommend sites that SATISFY searcher’s needs. Almost by definition, companies with faulty business models cannot satisfy clients and searchers, because either:

– Their price is too high given the value of the product or service – Their value is too low given the price of the product or service – Common sense is lacking, severely distorting the value:price ratio – and we suspect this is by far the most common

Long term (in a few more years – not yet though) this means search engines will look at your friend’s preferences and opinions (aka social search), and the behaviour patterns of thousands of other searchers, and will rearrange rankings based on those indicators. The result – faulty business models lose.

What Does This Mean for SEO’s and the Industry of Internet Marketing?

As a result, SEO and internet marketing companies in the future will have to make some interesting business decisions:

– do we accept or retain clients with faulty business models? – how do we identify clients with faulty business models – what are the signals? – do we attempt to become management/change consultants too?

What Does This Mean for Businesses?

Ultimately, this means that companies must focus their time and efforts on what it is they do best. They need to ensure they’ve got solid defensible business models. The more sound the business model, the easier it will be to rank for relevant terms. If not, make the tough decisions, and correct the issues, or Google will!

A Virtual Private Server can be treated as a small dedicated server unit which have its own set of processes and own set of system resources to run your official site or ecommerce site or a web portal in its virtually dedicated web environment. Virtual private servers are best choice for medium business site owners having low budget spending limits and in need of something special like dedicated resources to ensure smoother running of their websites.

Virtual Private Servers are also called as VDS or Virtual Dedicated Server or Master Reseller Servers. Virtual private servers are called as VDS because they works like independent server itself with own dedicated and burstable system resources and on the other hand they are also called as Master Reseller Servers as in VPS ac you can also make sub reseller for web hosting under your small vps ac which is impossible with normal reseller hosting ac.

VPS comes for Linux and Windows both environments in Linux they comes with SSH or Root Access and on windows they come with RDP or Remote Desktop Access. On Linux you have flexibility of the world famous web hosting control panel on VPS called as WHM / cPanel and on other hand in Widows VPS you have choice of Helm and Plesk Control Panels. WHM with cPanel is best one control panel enriched with tons of features if you are looking for Linux VPS and in windows Plesk works much better for you as a best choice.

Now we talk about little bit on concern of the VPS technical specifications normally VPS ac comes with 5GB to 100GB sort of storage capacity along with 400-1000 GB bandwidth per month & 128 to 1gb RAM capacity so you can easily go to google.com and can find out the vps service provider and then can compare their prices and features to get the best vps offer for you as every customer or business person is having own personal technical requirements thus nobody can recommend any standard available offer as a best one as its all depends on what you need thus and that varies person to person thus you can either consult to webmaster for the same that which sort of technical things they are in need of to make your website more better.

VPS are better for you in two cases: 1. Your current shared web hosting provider is warning you for system overloads as normally in shared hosting ac web hosting provider don’t allow more than allowed system resources to be eat by your web hosting ac. 2. If you are looking for dedicated server sort of better way to host your website but your budget is smaller than 200-300 USDs a month sort of dedicated servers.

So in this manner VPS are best for you in above both cases as you get better assurance of your web hosting service quality due to dedicated system resources and you spend limited budget compare to high charges of dedicated web hosting servers.

With the emergence of advertising mediums such as Google Adwords, internet marketing has taken on a whole new level. The world of Internet marketing has exploded in recent years to become one of the most dynamic industries in the world. Who exactly is an Internet marketer and what makes them successful?

The truth is an internet marketer could be anyone. Men and women, young and old are successful internet marketers. What makes them successful is a combination of things, including motivation and their attitude. Anyone can become a successful internet marketer if they simply believe that they can do it. While it isn’t easy, it does have a vast potential for success.

The key to success is confidence in your own ability and conveying this confidence to your potential customers. A quick way to become a loser is to want to win so badly that you are afraid to lose. When this happens you start playing it safe.

A real Internet marketer will convince others that their product or services is the best in the industry. Enthusiasm that is genuine will leave people feeling good. Even if people know what you do, if you do not keep reminding them of the results you produce, they are not likely to pass your name on to others.

In addition to being confident, they are great recruiters. The most successful marketers have an army of affiliates that are eager and willing to promote their products. The best recruiters go after the “big dogs” of the industry. They aren’t afraid to talk to someone because they are successful. They see the situation as an opportunity instead of a problem.

When they get some affiliates they lead them into the marketing as a team. They show them what needs to be done and then show them how to do it. The best marketers inspire their affiliates to be successful. Would you rather follow someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about or someone who confidently explains the process?

Evaluate yourself! Are you presently doing the things that you could do best? In other words use your strengths. The only real losers in life are those that refuse to admit their faults. Find out where you have been making mistakes to determine where you need help.

To be a winner, you must act as if it is impossible to fail. Your will to succeed will over come all obstacles that get in your way. Expect to win.

Anyone can become a successful Internet marketer if they believe they can do it. While it may not be an easy business, there is great potential for success. That of course is negative.

The major difference between the winner and the loser is the desire to win.. When you want to win so badly that you can not stand losing, you work hard and you are willing to sacrifice to get what you want. That is called, paying the price.

A real internet marketer will get others to feel good about themselves. They will convince them that their product or service is the best in the industry and that they will benefit greatly from having it. Without an abundance of confidence and a great attitude, this would not be possible.

So here is an odd seemingly unrelated story.

I went to a car auction yesterday. I walked past the auctioneer and he made a funny joke about wouldn’t wanna make the big guy upset with me or anything. My head spun around looking for that big guy that the auctioneer was discussing publicly on his mic.

I blushed as I realized, gosh its me!

About an hour later, a 2004 Chev Impala came down the line of cars and I heard from across the large auction area that it was going for 1600. I quickly shouldered my way thru 2 lanes of cars and people to see it.

By the time I got there, a horde of people had descended on it and the bid started moving quickly upward from 1800.

I walked quickly around it and but that time the price was 2,000 dollars.

I looked in the window at the odometer and the price went to 2100.

Pausing 2 seconds in indecision allowed the price to move smoothly to 2200. I put up my hand and it – the price went to 2300.

The busy auctioneer noticed my hand up, set the price at 2350, everyone looked at me and the bidding simply stopped.

The funny auctioneer tried for the next half minute but no one would place another bid on the car. Finally, he made some joke about big arms and stopped the bid.

So, I got this medium mileage 2004 Impala, worth about 6,000 for a mere 2350.

Guess sometimes size does matter.

And how is this related to Internet marketing

I told a friend of mine this story and he said that would not have happened if the auction took place online. And he was right. As an online marketer, seller or buyer, you can do everything in your pajamas, without your makeup, hair piece or eye shadow. You can’t be intimidated by someone else’s physical presence, their perfume, suggestive clothing, aggressive stance or any of those other human aspects.

Picking up a niche market that you believe in, googling it, getting a domain name and using a content managment system like Joomla or Wordpress to quickly put up a site, then actively marketing that in similar discussion boards and other blogs is — in one runaway sentence **all you need to do**

Running an online business from home is like a dream job. Demanding, sometimes frustrating but definitely worth the reward for the 5% who figure out how to make it work.

If you are running a successful online business, to get out of bed or not is entirely your choice. Working with your computer on your lap, snuggled up nice and warm under your blankets while others are fighting snow drifts trying to get to work… well, that’s the life.

Or, and this is my favorite – Get yourself out on a beach somewhere warm, bring your laptop and try not to let your annoying Attention Deficit Syndrome get the better of you as the scantily clad bodies get between you and your view of the blue, blue water, ahhh I mean your computer screen.

If you have a great website, but no traffic, then you may need to learn the basics of SEO. If you have a site about presenting excellent English grammar or if you are selling writing skills the Search engine optimization is the technique of making your website search engine friendly. awkwardness of putting together paragraphs with keywords can make it look like you don’t know how to write at all. For some time now, pay per click advertising has proved it is one of the most effective methods of traffic generation. This is the system of choice owing to how successful it is compared to may other types currently available. If you are puzzled over how pay-per-click works, and just exactly how it can work in your favor, then keep reading.

All that happens here is an advert (some text with a URL link), often in blocks of two or more, is placed on various other websites that are popular and receive large numbers of visitors. Then, whenever anyone clicks that ad, they will be taken to your site, and if they stay there for more than five or ten seconds, you will pay the hosting site a very small amount of money.

So, the advert you have inserted on another site must be directly related to the products / services the host site is offering or the ads would be wasted.

As an alternative to paying for a whole month of advertisements that could bring you no clients, with PPC [ pay per click ] you only pay if people se the advertisement and follow thru to your site. In the past there were many complaints about bills being run up by competitors clicking on an advert link but that is not the case. From a business viewpoint, pay per click marketing is extremely effective at targeting the exact market the business wants. The people visiting the hosting site are already looking for related products or services to those you are offering.

The biggest, and most famous of these pay-per-click services, is a company named Google with their program called Adwords. Your ad will appear when people search Google for term or phrase that you choose. If you paid a high fee for the search term, you could see your sponsored ad at the very top of Google’s search page, or at the right side of the page.

These instant results cannot be beaten in any other advertising medium and it is that attracts pay per click customers. Many companies use this technique to gauge how good their advertising copy will be before they use it in more expensive areas. Almost all top companies will use pay per click as part of their marketing structure because it is perceived as being the most effective.

Resellers for Clickbank know only too well that Adwords is the most effective pay per click engine for driving targeted traffic to any website you might care to name. Recently, a series of programs have been launched that take us, step-by-step, thru the process of setting up Adwords campaigns designed to drive targeted traffic to our sales pages. With this type of help, we can look forward to getting the best value for our money using pay per click, and at a very low cost.

Mobile phone marketing, otherwise known as SMS marketing, is the present evolution of direct promotion. Direct promotion has always been supported by companies as a personalized and focused way of reaching potential consumers and, with the advent of cell phones, SMS marketing has increased in usage. Mobile marketing is perhaps best defined as the practice of advertising products and services using digital distribution channels to reach customers in a fast, relevant, personalized and economic manner.

The most common example of digital marketing is SMS marketing, which has expanded rapidly in Europe and Asia. It is predicted that several hundred million promotional messages are sent through SMS every month in Europe alone. SMS stands for ’short message service’ and is a communication form specific to cell phones where a short message can be simply sent to any mobile user. As well as sending information to customers, promoters can often encourage customers to participate in promotional and brand publicity promotions by encouraging customers to SMS a selected number at an event in order to enter a competition, to receive a prize or to have their text displayed on a multimedia wall at an event. All of these methods involves the customer through the medium of SMS and creates brand awareness.

There are a variety of other methods of digital marketing. One variation is sending texts via MMS, which is a multimedia version of SMS, allowing customers to receive texts with color, pictures and video. There is also mobile web marketing, where companies publicize marketing objectives through websites accessed by cell phones. Marketers often make innovative use of SMS marketing such as location-based services where customers are offered bespoke advertising and other network-related information and promotional information based on their location. With the range of methods and choices available to companies, it is no wonder that a recent marketing survey found that 89% of major brands planned to advertise their products through digital marketing by the end of 2008.

Digital marketing is an example of what is known within the industry as “push” marketing. The thought behind push marketing is that that the promoted has to send (push) the material to the consumer in order for the information to be received. This is different to “pull” marketing, a passive form of promotion, where it is customers who seek out the material from sources such as websites or blogs.

There are lots of positives to SMS marketing. Primarily, the attraction is that this form of promotion can be tailored to the user. This is the ideal in marketing as it means getting the campaign specifically to the audience it’s focused on, instead of wasting dollars on an broad campaign. The specialization allowed by this mode of promotions, which results in a more economical campaign, is one reason why a high return on investment is possible with SMS marketing. Another advantage of SMS marketing is the detailed tracking and reporting of users it allows. Through this medium, marketers can track how many consumers received their information and also access specific information about each consumer such as their name, their age, their demographic and where they’re located. This allows a business to raise profiles of their customers; information which then guides future advertising campaigns and, ideally, their success.

It is noted in the industry that push marketing, of which SMS marketing is a type, can help build new revenue and brand exposure if it is implemented correctly and appropriately. This is because it makes customers aware of new additions that they may not know to enquire about already and the way the information is phrased, and even the fact that the information is being sent by a innovative, hip medium such as SMS, can say a lot about a brand and a business.

There are, however, some disadvantages to mobile marketing. Inherently, it needs a mechanism – the mobile – to be able to send content. The business, as well, needs to make use of specific equipment and applications in order to send the content to subscribers, which can mean considerable outlay. Another downside is the fact that mobile marketing is heavily regulated by the telecommunications industry in response to customer concerns about what data and advertising they get shown. Most Western nations have laws in place that compel marketers to get the consent of subscribers before advertising information is received by them and must clearly give them with an ‘opt out’ clause if they request to stop receiving content. If businesses are found to be in violation of these laws, network providers can block marketing information by marketers.

As mobile technology improves, mobile marketing will certainly continue to gather in relevance.

Corporate identity may seem like a high-level problem for medium- and large-sized corporations, but this cannot be farther from the truth. In fact, at the risk of sounding biblical, each business is created equal. In other words, big or small, each is considered its own, separate legal entity. Just as each individual has its own birth certificate, each business has its own Articles of Incorporation establishing its “birth.” And since each business is considered its own entity, would it not stand to reason that each business have its own face or personality? All Fortune 500 companies have their own face and personality, which appear in the shape of a corporate logo.

For small businesses and entrepreneurs, the idea of a corporate logo may seem like a daunting concept. Some small business owners have no interest in creating or designing a logo and rely instead on a steady stream of word-of-mouth traffic, arguably the best type of sale to book. But for these types of businesses, when those sales slow or cease entirely, all that will remain is a name stenciled in a window and a simple white pages listing.

The easiest way to build a business image is to design a corporate logo. For extremely creative owners, this might be a fun, distracting task. But if the owner lacks the technical and creative competence, the corporate logo may come across as amateurish. For owners that opt to create their own corporate logo, we recommend seeking the opinion of a third-party like past clients who have nothing to lose by being honest as well as colleagues with no affiliation or interest in your business.

For the business owner looking for a professional corporate logo, there are numerous providers available who will design your logo from scratch. The process normally starts with the business owner completing a creative brief. This document outlines the business (e.g. what it does) and through a series of questions the designer(s) get a feel for the company’s personality. Completing the creative brief should take a bit of time on the owner’s part as it will ultimately result in several sample corporate logos.

Next, the designer incorporates the information revealed in the brief and starts working on the logo. Typically, the designer will prepare anywhere from three to as many as twelve or more preliminary logos. Each logo will weigh more heavily on some aspects of the brief than others, which only emphasizes the importance of being honest and accurate when completing the brief.

Lastly, a decision for a final logo will need to be made based on the sample. With your final logo sample chosen, a few final tweaks might take place and you will then be prepared to incorporate the corporate logo in everything related to your business, from invoices to business cards to signage.

The quality of service ranges (just as do the prices). Low end corporate logos can usually run $50 to $250. Often, the quality is something most business owners can live with but as their company evolves, they will normally find themselves evolving their corporate logo and image as well. The second-time run may cost a little more as the business owner realizes just how important the quality should be. Higher end corporate logos can cost upwards of $2,000 – 5,000 (ouch).

Quote Stork Solutions recommends two logo design companies. One, at the lower end, is VistaPrint. With VistaPrint, you can design your own generic corporate logo with their help of their website. The benefit with VistaPrint is that their cost is quite low (Free if you opt to order stationery through their site). This option works best for companies that do not need to rely heavily on a corporate identity. Most companies, however, will rely on a corporate logo becoming the face of their business. For these companies, Quote Stork recommends using LogoWorks. At $299, LogoWorks will create a high-quality corporate logo that will have an enduring quality over time. While steeper in price than VistaPrint, LogoWorks’s gallery (see it on their website) matches the quality produced by designers who charge ten times more. Like VistaPrint, LogoWorks also offers stationery sales.

How many businesses have avoided the effects of higher energy costs and a slower economy? Not many. Energy costs affect all of us and the news of the slowing economy does not help promote any growth initiatives, particularly for small businesses who need to enforce greater budgetary control.

During economic moments like these, sales activities typically lose steam and margins increase. This results in a double-whammy to the bottom-line. We know why this happens. In fact pulling back on growth initiatives is driven by emotion, by fear, as well as a reluctance to take a new approach to marketing. As for margins, they decrease as a result of higher expenses (like travel).

Rather than sitting tight and riding out an economic slowdown, small businesses need to ramp up their sales activities. Instead, many are gun shy. This is a fundamental error that is only exacerbated by the fact that they are “small” businesses. To achieve growth targets in slower economic times, Quote Stork urges small businesses to take a non-traditional approach to their marketing efforts. One such approach is through web conferences.

Involving web conferences in the marketing effort can return great results through two simple steps. The way Quote Stork Solutions interprets a May 2008 Ipsos survey is that web conferences are expected to increase 600% over the next five years. And while medium and large corporations are already taking advantage of this technology, small businesses who stand on the sidelines stand to see real and opportunity losses.

In the first step, the small business initiates a direct-response marketing campaign. This type of marketing benefits all types of businesses, but larger competitors typically shy away from them since they are perceived as high-maintenance. Small businesses, however, use these touchy-feely campaigns more effectively and consequently have experienced proven results. Additionally, since direct-response involves taking action, only interested prospects will respond.

The second step entails hosting a webinar. Of course, the webinar will have something to do with a sales pitch, but Quote Stork recommends offering a value-added reason for prospects to attend. For example, a mortgage broker might want to discuss regional mortgage trends and highlight some of the problems facing existing homeowners and how this particular broker can help prospects through tough times.

Using direct-response marketing, small businesses can eliminate the need for fronting large sums of cash for putting together a traditional seminar. And since only interested prospects will attend your webinar (versus cold-calling prospects who do not want to hear or see you), you will speak and sell to a captive audience. Forget the hard sale.

Finally, employing a web conference as part of your sales process is a win-win for everyone. For the small business owner looking to sell a product or service, a web conference allows mass selling to a group of interested parties; sure beats knocking on doors. And prospects are able to attend your web conference without leaving the comfort of their office or home, allowing them to save on time and travel as well.

The market leader here is GoToMeeting. They offer a comprehensive web conference solution for all business types. Plus, through the link below, you can enjoy a Free Trial and receive $10 off your first paid web conference.

Mobile phone marketing, otherwise known as SMS marketing, is the present evolution of direct marketing. Direct marketing has always been chosen by companies as a specialized and focused method of reaching potential consumers and, with the rise of mobile phones, mobile marketing has increased in support. Digital marketing is perhaps best defined as the practice of marketing products and services using digital distribution channels to reach consumers in a quick, appropriate, personalized and cost-effective manner.

The most well-known example of digital marketing is SMS marketing, which has expanded very quickly in Europe and Asia. It is thought that several hundred million marketing messages are sent via SMS every month in Europe alone. SMS stands for ’short message service’ and is a communication form specific to mobile phones where a short message can be quickly sent to any mobile owner. As well as sending material to consumers, advertisers can often encourage consumers to join in marketing and brand publicity promotions by encouraging consumers to SMS a particular number at an event in order to enter a competition, to receive a gift or to have their text displayed on a multimedia wall at an event. All of these methods involves the consumer through the medium of SMS and creates brand exposure.

There are many other types of digital marketing. One variation is sending messages via MMS, which is a multimedia version of SMS, allowing consumers to receive MMS with color, pictures and video. There is also mobile web marketing, where businesses advertise marketing goals through websites accessed by mobile phones. Promoters often make innovative use of digital marketing such as location-based services where consumers are offered tailored promotions and other network-related information and marketing material based on their whereabouts. With the range of methods and options available to promoters, it is no wonder that a recent marketing survey found that 89% of major brands planned to advertise their products through digital marketing by the end of 2008.

Digital marketing is an example of what is known within the industry as “push” marketing. The idea behind push marketing is that that the marketer has to send (push) the information to the user in order for the material to be received. This is opposite to “pull” marketing, a passive form of marketing, where it is consumers who seek out the material from sources such as websites or blogs.

There are several advantages to mobile marketing. Primarily, the attraction is that this form of marketing can be tailored to the user. This is the ideal in marketing as it means getting the message specifically to the group it’s aimed at, instead of wasting money on an broad campaign. The specificity allowed by this mode of promotions, which results in a more economical campaign, is one example why a high return on investment is possible with mobile marketing. Another advantage of mobile marketing is the detailed tracking and reporting of users it permits. Through this medium, companies can track how many customers viewed their material and also access detailed information about each consumer such as their name, their age, their demographic and where they’re located. This permits a business to raise profiles of their users; information which then guides future marketing campaigns and, ideally, their success.

It is noted in the industry that push marketing, of which digital marketing is a form, can help drive new cash flows and brand reinforcement if it is used correctly and sensitively. This is because it makes users aware of new events that they may not know to enquire about already and the way the material is phrased, and even the fact that the material is being sent by a contemporary, hip medium such as SMS, can say a lot about a brand and a company.

There are, however, some drawbacks to digital marketing. Inherently, it requires a mechanism – the mobile – to be able to send information. The company, as well, has to make use of specific hardware and applications in order to deliver the information to consumers, which can involve substantial outgoings. Another negative is the fact that digital marketing is heavily regulated by the telecommunications industry in response to customer concerns about what data and marketing they get shown. Most Western nations have laws in place that compel businesses to gain the consent of consumers before promotional content is received by them and must clearly give them with an ‘opt out’ option if they request to stop receiving content. If companies are found to be in breach of these laws, network providers can block marketing material by businesses.

As mobile technology improves, digital marketing will certainly continue to rise in importance.

Too Big for a Small Business As businesses began to increase their focus on having reliable and available data centers, data centers began to grow in size and complexity. No longer a single room housing a comparatively simple computer system, businesses now required very large Internet data centers. These large data centers are expensive to run, expensive to maintain, and expensive to staff.

These huge data facilities were out of the reach of many small businesses. These smaller organizations also needed managed services like high speed Internet connectivity and high availability of data, but they did not have the resources to build such physically large and expense data centers. Even the equipment required for such an endeavor was often out of the financial reach of a small business.

The Adventage of Data Center Outsourcing Private data centers became the go-to solution for small to medium business information technology needs. Data center outsourcing grew in popularity, largely because it was a practical and financially more viable solution to the problems created by huge, on-site data centers.

Not only are outsourced data centers more affordable, they also lift much of the heavy responsibility from the business. Disaster recovery, adhering to industry standards, ensuring a secure and hospitable environment for information storage and management, and many other practical concerns can make in-house data centers a logistical nightmare. When organizations place their trust in an off-site data center, they do not need to shoulder this burden alone.

What to Look For in Outsourcing Data Storage When you outsource your data center responsibilities, you want to be selective in your choice of a data storage partner. Every moment that you network is not up and running, your business is being affected. A high availability data center will place a great deal of emphasis on the following:

- Skilled IT Professionals: A data center is only as good as its staff. Security and networking teams need to be well-trained, skilled, and experienced. Network technicians need to be trained to the highest industry standards. – Proper Environment: The environment of a data center is of the utmost importance. There must be an uninterruptible power supply or backup generator, a highly sensitive HVAC system to filter air, a fire suppression system, and proper installation of equipment. – High Level of Security: Your data needs to be protected, and the first level of defense is the physical security of the building. There should be controlled access, video surveillance, and extensive employee background checks. – Top of the Line Equipment: Network infrastructure is one of the most important aspects of data center planning. When selecting a data center, make sure equipment selection and infrastructure set-up receive the emphasis they deserve. – Strict Adherence to Standards: Industry standards are around for a reason. They help make sure data centers provide high quality service, maximum availability, and top-shelf security measures.

The Advantage of Outsourcing In house data centers simply cannot offer the same kind of reliability and economic viability as off-site data centers. An organization must allow its focus to remain on the health of its business operations, rather than getting bogged down in the details of managing data. Outsourcing your data center allows you to keep your focus where it should be: on your own organization.

The complicated and expensive nature of today’s data center needs make it impractical for a company to expend huge amounts of resources on an in-house data center. It just doesn’t make good financial sense. Instead, outsourcing your data center allows you to put those resources back into your company, further strengthening your organization.

All of these methods engages the consumer through the medium of SMS and creates brand awareness.

There are many other methods of digital marketing. One variation is sending texts via MMS, which is a multimedia version of SMS, allowing customers to receive texts with color, pictures and video. Advertisers often make innovative use of digital marketing such as location-based services where customers are offered tailored marketing and other network-related information and marketing information based on their location. It is noted in the industry that push marketing, of which SMS marketing is a form, can help build new revenue and brand exposure if it is implemented correctly and appropriately. Adsense is very atractive way to make money online and ever step of the designing of your adsense ad is about choices. By testing you will learn what works best on your sites and the first thing you will want to try out is choosing the ad format for text and image based ads. The right format depends on where you want to put the ad on your site

The first format that you will want to take a look at is the famous leaderboard ad format with a 728 x 90 size. This is obviously a large ad format and therefor only suited for places where you have lots of space like the header or footer of your page. This is a very popular format with 4 ad units and it seems that it converts rather well on most sites

The Banner format is 468 X 60 in size and can be placed almost anywhere on the page. This format holds two ads nicely and can be used along the side or at the top of content attractively enough. The Half Banner is only 234 X 60 and allows you to place one ad anywhere you desire on your webpage. The Vertical Banner stacks the ads on top of each other and is 120 X 240 in size.

If you want to show a single ad in a very atractive way than take a look at the square 125 x 125 layout. You can mix the ad colors with an eye-catching background to make it stand out and you will surely draw a lot of attention to this ad

If you need ads to be shown on one or either side of your content a skyscraper holding 3 or 4 ads can be the solution. The skyscraper was specificaly designed for this purpose and its format is 120 x 600 pixels. If you would like to have more space for ads choose the 160 x 600 wide sky scraper because this one can hold 5 ads

The Small Rectange is 180 X 150 and holds one AdSense ad very well. The Medium Rectangle format allows three or four ads to be placed inside a 300 X 250 rectangle. The Large Rectangle, perfect for placing four ads inside, is 336 X 280. The Square measures 250 X 250 and holds up to three AdSense ads well.

If you use image-based Adsense ads, you can choose the Leader Board which you will find placed across the top of many websites. It measures 728 X 90. The Banner is a smaller ad that measure 468 X 60. The Sky Scraper and Wide Sky Scraper are also choices for use on the sides of a webpage. Or you can choose the Medium Rectangle format. All of these image ads hold a single image.

There are also various layouts for displaying Link Unit Adsense ads so that they will fit well into your website also. They can be stacked, lined up across the top or bottom and allow just as much variety as the text and image ads.

Blogging resources and websites are everywhere on the net. Blogging is critical for all online businesses trying to increase their sales by driving traffic to your website. Writing a good article is an ability that many of us are wishing they were born with the gift. A good article can determine your success on the internet. This is so true to those online marketers who opt in for article as their medium of marketing. What does it take for an article to be a success?

Here are the guides.

1. Without minding the details, just write all the things that will come in your mind. Never think that you can master it for the first time of writing. Do not think about the things that confuse you while writing about:

o The overall content

o Key points

o What you want to tell the readers

o What you would like them to do

o What can your product and service can offer them

Just write and write until you already point out the essential information you want to provide them. You can write as many as you want and then you can edit it later on, you can also give it an improvement and systematize to make it a high quality articles.

o What can I receive from it

o In what way is it helpful to me?

o What does it cost?

o Where & when can I buy it?

3. Concentrate on the benefit provided to readers.

Instead of focusing on the features of your product or your activity, tell customers what they can get. When you write about the feature of a product, tell customers how it can help them, how it can improve their lives. Let them think you give them a hope.

In the articles, you can make questions to the consumers and talk everything about the things about them and what are the things they can receive from paying the service or product. The other technique is to give them advice about their situation, which reflects that your purpose is to help them and not just to sell.

4. Use testimonials

Many people are interested on reviews of other people. Through testimonials they will have general ideas of the things that they can receive. Write testimonials that are describing the dilemma that your service or product can solve. Remember to use testimonials that will not sound as they were scripted. It should look real.

5. Articles must be original, personal, fresh and direct

Some useful tips:

o Write on how you talk, be natural and remember not only to focus on errors of grammar and spelling.

o Point out the readers by simply addressing them as “You”

o Write as if you talk to a person you know. It is easier if you have identified a specific segment of the audience.

o Stop unnecessary promotion and overstatement. Using simple words can generate interest.

o Do not take the chance to promise in articles things that you actually cannot offer, therefore misleading customers

For any advertising method to be effective, it has to have a target audience that is consuming the medium with which the advertising is attached to. That being said, advertisers are starting to realize that online video advertising is now an effective method to attract large relevant audiences. Online video consumption has grown tremendously in the past few years and as a result, video sharing and video search companies are poised to reap the benefits of video advertising.

Due to the overwhelming demand from advertisers to develop effective methods for online video advertising delivery, some of the online video sharing giants have implemented various forms of online video ad formats. Historically, in-stream ads, also known as pre-roll ads, mid-roll, and post-roll, have been the dominant standard in terms of the format most advertisers gravitated towards due to the prominence of the ad content itself.

Pre-Roll Format – Ads, typically videos in duration of 15 or 30 seconds are streamed before the video itself plays. This make the advertising incredibly prominent but causes plenty of issues with regard to user friendliness and many studies show this format to be unpopular with users.

Post-roll Ads – This format includes the advertisements at the end of the video clip and it is up to the viewer to decide whether to watch the advertisement clip or not. This format of advertisement is being used by certain video sites. However, this is not effective for the advertiser as often times users dont watch the entire video.

Mid-Roll Format – With mid-rolls, a short clip is streamed in the middle (sometimes every X minutes) of video content that is playing. This tends to be less annoying to users as they are acustomed to this format in television advertising.

As stated earlier, due to the demand, many of these video websites have begun to test and offer new, innovative ad solution for video. One of these experimental format is the In-Player ad: With in-player ads the player skin itself can be used to place relevant images or text content for the advertiser so that the ad is displayed for the entire time that the video is played.

The buzz in the past year has been with regard to a newer method of video ad delivery that attempts to match relevance by choosing video ads to run with only video that is similar in subject. This is known as contextual video advertising and it can take on a range of different formats with images or text being displayed within a portion of the video window, only being activated when clicked on.

Some of the video sites like to go through the video and include only relevant in-video text advertisements, which match the contents of the video and at the same time it does not disturb the process of video watching by the viewer. Youtube was one of the first sites to adopt this format as a standard and it is called Overlay Video Ads.

I have given you a brief overview of the most common formats of video ads that are being tested and utilized at the moment. That being said, with growth being what it is, and video discovery as new as it is, we will certainly see many different companies innovating in regards to developing new and exciting formats for online video advertising.

Many folk are viewing this content as they wish to find a good web hosting service. Naturally, they would like the best offer available to them. For any firm or person, choosing the right web host is a massive decision, which can have an impact that lasts a long time. This is due to the fact it will be a feature in your business for a long period of time.

Today’s modern PHP web host site is quite cheap and yet can still offer benefits to satisfy a customer.

Some important points will follow later but knowing a small amount about PHP would be good. There is no doubt PHP is a popular language, used for programming and capable of being placed into HTML. Some of the reasons for its popularity can be seen here:

a. It is free.

b. It can be used easily and with little trouble

c. It is a fully object oriented language.

d. It can be used on a variety of platforms

e. It has a rapid pace on the Linux server and this can be used effectively in utilizing and constructing complex web applications.

f. It allows advanced programming and is very easy to integrate with web pages.

g. MySQL is a program that is able to be integrated well with PHP

Before receiving the PHP service to host a web site, first you must take many issues onboard. Firstly, and especially, it can be difficult to get a good PHP service for hosting web sites. The majority of web hosting companies are in the matter for a fast return on their money. They do not want to offer a full service, so it is common to be without PHP for 2-3 days. Equally, you can do nothing about this as support was unavailable, which is often the case. Finding the right PHP host solution can take many attempts to find the best solution. A reason in this is that not all the firms are commonly known or discussed.

The above facts may present a daunting picture, where selecting the right PHP web hosting service provider is concerned. But there are some tips following which one can land up with the right solution very easily.

A genuine PHP host will have these areas provided:

a. Technical Stuff: It will provide you with all the technical applications you may need, like MySQL, PHP, Perl, Python, Cron, CGI etc. You may not know what all these mean, or what they are used for, but that’s all right, its good to have these stuff, as you may require them in future.

b. Bandwidth: Bandwidth is the volume of files (in gigabytes or megabits per second) that are transferred in and out of your server on a monthly basis – and ultimately determines the number of visitors that can view your website in any given month the more bandwidth, the more users. In this case a bandwidth of 75 GB is a good starting point; though many websites can use 1,000GB, 10,000 or more.

c. Price. Getting a service for no charge is not always good and paying a low fee does not always mean low quality. A price that should provide you with an enjoyable service would be around $10.

d. Who uses your web site. Having true statistics regarding usage of your site and where it is linked from can be a massive help to your site.

e. PHP web hosting script installers: These are among the essential features to be included in your PHP hosting search. One should get a PHP web host script installation pack, at no extra cost from the service provider. You should be wary of providers that ask you to pay extra money for PHP web host script installation pack. On such application is “Fantastico”, which comes free with cPanel in most cases.

Coming to the free PHP web hosting service providers- they can have a number of disadvantages associated with them. Since the web hosting company is providing the services for free, it is not possible for them to sustain the services for long, without any source of revenue. This revenue is generated by them, through advertisements put upon your website. These advertisements can be in the form of:

a. Banners

b. Pop-up ads

c. Advertisement frames

You would have no control over these advertisements. This is not a satisfying solution for small to medium sized business. In fact there have been instances, were users of free PHP web site hosting services, have complained that they were having there competitors’ advertisements running on their websites! You can imagine how distressing such a situation could be. You cannot even complain to your service provider, because they are being able to provide you with free services, only with the help of those advertisements.

It is also true to say that free sites quite often crash. If the host caters for a great number of sites, this is likely to occur.

Furthermore PHP web site hosting companies, that are offering free services are generally not able to offer the range of features, that even a cheap web hosting company can.

Keeping the above in mind, it is a better idea to go for a paid but affordable web hosting service rather than a free one. The extra benefits offered by the paid services would easily make-up for the few dollars a month that they cost.

To fully grasp the situation regarding the best web hosting provisions of cheap providers, try to consider these issues:

i. Attempt to balance the price of the service with the services. A cheaper option may lose you some services but can you live without them? If not, then you have to pay. If you can live without guaranteed uptime or support options, you could cut these out as long as you know what is vital for you.

ii. If you want to have blogs, shopping carts or forums then installation tools would be good and this is where Cpanel could be handy. Cpanel can also assist with running centers of support and controlling MySQL databases.

iii. Having access to support services. It is vital to always have a support service available. Who knows when a crisis may hit your firm and you need to be able to react.

iv. Available space on the disc: Depending on how much content will be on your site, how much disc room you will require will alter greatly. It is also good to consider future development when planning how much disc space to have.

v. Accounts for email purposes: Do not hesitate to get rid of a web host firm that provides cheap or shoddy email accounts. There are many rival firms who want your business so feel free to go with them if you want.

The harder part of your research comes now and it is seeking the companies which provide offers such as guaranteeing your money back if you are unhappy after 30 days or regarding uptime guarantees. These can be hard to find as they all cost money to promise. But seek them, because some firms are available to offer this, and with the advantages already mentioned above they can also offer a commendable service at a welcome price.

These ideas should be added to your own research to make a decision on who best to sign up with to meet your needs and budget.

Can you ever be sure you made the right choice? If you are happy with the cost, the uptime, how many email accounts you have, the level of support that is available to you, if you can have access to vital statistics and having the option of PHP and Windows, then yes, it is possible to be happy with your choice.

Among the tools that can be used for cash gifting marketing and advertising, royalty free music is one of the most efficient. It demands no huge financial budget and is capable of delivering positive results. With the rising need for cost-effective cash gifting marketing means, an opportunity such as royalty free music must be seized.

In cash gifting marketing, royalty free music can be an essential marketing element. As it is known, music is a very competent medium that can make an advertisement pleasing and entertaining. This then can attract the attention of more prospects which may lead to higher profit. With royalty free music, all these can be done inexpensively. Same with other promotional tools however, the understanding of its advantages over other strategies is needed for a more vivid view of its capabilities.

Given here are the three most prominent advantages of royalty free music for cash gifting marketing.

Reusable Tracks: Part of the beauty of royalty free music is the fact it allows the reuse of tracks over and over again. Once a track or a sound clip under the category of royalty free music is bought, you are allowed to use and alter its form at any way you are most pleased with.

Recently however, a new rule was created for royalty free music. Large companies related to this business had set a specific number as to how many times the tracks can be reused and manufactured. Though it now has some limitations, royalty free music still remains to be a very cost effective marketing instrument for cash gifting marketing.

It is affordable. Though royalty free music is not entirely free, it requires however, nothing but a just a single fee. For a wide variety of music and clips that it offers and the big number of functions it can serve, it truly is an affordable means of producing advertisements.

Since royalty free music requires only a single payment, this means that for a specific number of times of reusing the clips, you will not be charged for anything. Generally this will cut your cash gifting marketing budget. At a penny with royalty free music compared to dollars with other strategies, effective advertisements can already be made.

High quality music: Though royalty free music can be obtained at a cheap rate, all the audio products it offers are sure to be of high quality. To ignore the marketing opportunity it presents is an unwise step that can cause the sinking of your cash gifting marketing efforts.

Sounds and clips of royalty free music are created and produced by famous composers and directors. This ensures the quality of the products the music opportunity offers to the public. Opposite the negative claims, royalty free music is a truly beneficial cash gifting marketing opportunity that will give maximum value to the money you will spend for an effective advertisement.

To sum it all, royalty free music is reusable, affordable and capable of delivering high quality end products. The use of it is a proven advantageous move for your cash gifting marketing. Truly, compared to other tools, royalty free music is a more cost effective marketing instrument for cash gifting.

Tips to Increase your In-Store Marketing Profits: We’ve all poured over the available marketing data, held the long meetings, brainstormed over product development strategies; all to answer the age old questions regarding marketing budget. Which advertising medium has the highest conversion to sales? Should I spend massive amounts of money on TV and radio broadcasts? What about “in-store” displays? What will customers pay more attention to? What will give my company the greatest return on investment?

It is rather difficult to calculate ROI, simply because there is no real way of measuring what actually influences a customer’s decision to buy. There are trends, and definite ways of increasing brand awareness, but without a flexible, multi-million dollar marketing budget, it can be difficult to gauge if marketing efforts are actually increasing customer awareness and product sales.

Large conglomerates have the ability to launch incredible marketing campaigns, intended to raise brand awareness on a global level. The ROI however, is not efficient in the short term and therefore this option is not viable for small and medium sized companies. Companies of this size just cannot compete with corporate monsters like Pepsi or Walmart.

However, this does not necessarily have to be a issue. Though the power of in-store marketing has always been understood, recent ROI data has suggested even greater potential than previously supposed. Nonprofit companies like POPAI and B&T, have demonstrated that customers make an average of 70% of decisions to buy while browsing in the retail store!

An incredibly power statistic, and one that makes absolute sense. Any customer can sit at home and watch a visually powerful TV ad, but then not be in a position to buy for hours, and sometimes much longer. Which begs the questions: why should a company spend huge amounts of money on TV or radio ads to increase brand awareness, when most of these customers are just not ready to buy at all? There are better methods of marketing.

And these methods are centered on one important factor. The true determining factor in the decision to purchase a product based on your advertising, is recency. Meaning, how soon after the customer saw your advertising and marketing material was the client or customer in a position to buy?

Consequently, the most ROI-efficient marketing method small and medium sized companies can employ is in-store marketing, or the use of “Point of Purchase” displays. These displays represent the only marketing medium available at the time and place when customer, the money to buy, and the product all come together. Then is the time to worry about product imagery and communication of product benefits.

Is your company worried about retailers not accepting a POP display? Retailers want POP displays! Well-designed and carefully crafted displays create a much more visually appealing environment for their customers to browse in. Understand they do not want a cluttered looking store either; so make sure you are aware of the needs of your retailer and what they are looking for in a product display.

Just be sure to meet the needs of your vendors and retailers. Team up with an educated manufacturing company, design POP displays with good imagery and value-engineering in mind, and do not lend to a “cluttered” look. Hire marketing personnel that know their way around retail marketing and can steer your company in the right direction. You will soon be on your way to increased sales and profits.

Sales development is the act of developing a person in the act of sales. Sales, which can be done individually or as part of a team, is where a person sells a merchandise or service to a buyer. It is often believed that sales is the same as marketing but there is a distinct difference – marketing exists to advocate a product by making it desirable to a prospective buyer and, through this, may inactively produce a sale. On the other hand, a sales person actively interacts with a prospective buyer, showing directly how their product or service can assist the buyer by offering them tailored information. The best sales team is someone who works in conjunction with their buyer and acts to solve the client’s needs and goals with the goods or service to be sold.

Sales is an integral part of modern business models. Not only does the sales person sell a corporate product or service, they also act to generate new corporate prospects and find customers for their company, thereby sustaining and growing their company’s customer base and reputation. Sales is often the public face of a company so it paramount that adequate new business development training is provided to the sales person so that they can excel in their selling role but also know how to be the best believer possible for the goods and the business.

There is a plethora of approaches a corporation can employ to connect with their customer. Direct sales – where the business deals directly with their customer – is probably the most recognized. The most recognized direct selling approaches are door-to-door selling and telemarketing; in both cases the corporation directly connects with the customer at home or at their place of business to advise them about the product. Another way of direct selling is ‘consultative selling’ whereby the business deals directly with the buyer but initially begins by consulting the customer about what merchandise or services they need and developing solutions in collaboration with the customer. Businesses also often sell merchandise through retailers – so called ‘middle men’ – and through mail order, while the rise of the web has given businesses a new medium in which to deal with potential customers. As can be seen, there is a large variety in the way businesses contact, connect and potentially sell to a customer, which has increased the necessity of sales development.

Sales training concentrates on the assortment of approaches a sales person can use when directly talking with the customer, so integral in these days of direct selling. Although there are a assortment of particular methodologies tailored for different varieties of selling, the main philosophy behind excellent sales practice is five-fold: analyze a customer’s needs, offer solutions to the buyer, discuss the virtues of the item, overcome any questions the customer may have and close the sale. This methodology can sometimes be condensed to a three-part methodology: find the customer, present to the customer and finish the sale.

Sales development classes are extensively available with many training academies and specialist businesses offering classes that you can take in person or via correspondence or the internet. Many large companies have also developed their own in-house sales training programs. There are also a plethora of books available on the topic.

Great sales development will always highlight the need to ask customers questions in order to better give them solutions, will always highlight the necessity of knowing your goods and will include motivational material, as selling is a high-pressure profession that not only requires a lot of self-motivation but also deals with a lot of rejection as well.

Incentive programs, what they’re for and how to use them are also included in a lot of sales training. These ’sales incentive programs’ or SIP’s, are a method used to encourage a sales agent and sets out specific goals for attainment, which aims to concentrate selling activity.

Sales training will teach you self-motivation, direction and excellent communication abilities and, as such, would stand any person in good stead for any managerial role outside of sales, as well as within.

If saving money is on your priority list while hosting a website then here are the different types of Web Hosting you can opt for. Despite of some of the limitations that one may have to face on websites hosted by these methods, it is sure to save you the pain of big investment.

Using a shared web hosting facility

What is Shared Web Hosting? – A shared web hosting service or virtual hosting service or derive host is one of the methods that allow small business owners and individuals host their web sites at affordable or economical rates. It actually refers to a web hosting service where many websites reside on one web server connected to the Internet. This is generally the most economical option for hosting as many people share the overall cost of server maintenance.

This is why many small or medium sizes firms are looking to sign up to a shared web hosting service. Each site has its own place on the server which keeps it apart from other sites so this is not an issue but the cost factor is what is best for many firms.

If you choose a shared business web site hosting service you often get a package of things at a low price. For example are the several e-mail accounts often offered which is perfect for small and medium sized companies. It thus provides a great opportunity to easily put up a great business site.

There are good points to this system but there are also negative issues. A customer can save money but there are limitations and there may be issues that arise in the long term provision of this service:

* There is no proper provision for properly support secure website (HTTPS.) This is because any virtual hosts which has the same IP address also has the same digital certificate.

* If you want to have a name-based virtually hosted site, then the Domain Name System needs to be in full working order.

* There is a problem in that they do not work with browsers who are unable to pass the hostname along with the requests. This can be seen in the fact that older HTTP/1.0 browsers are unable to process the host field element of the HTTP/1.1 protocol.

Web Hosting at a low price

Individual users who want to have their own website with little in the way of functions can get a great price for their web host. They do not require a lot of bandwidth or disk space which means that firms can offer them extremely beneficial rates. This allows people to have their web host needs fulfilled for very little cost.

It is possible to have good service from a cheap web host provider and this can be shown by the following firms who offer good web hosting for a price less than $10:

* Host Gator

* IPowWeb

* GoDaddy

* BlueHost

* Dot5Hosting

* Micfo

* GoDaddy

* Lunarpages

* midPhase

* Netfirms

Web Hosting on a budget

If you are looking to save money then budget web hosting is the way to go as it is cheap and doesn’t require huge levels of investment. Yet it still manages to offer many good quality services. There is a large number of web hosts who provide budget services and they are good enough to meet many peoples needs.

Web Hosting for free:

Understanding the free Web Hosting service. Free web hosting is made possible by having adverts on your site and being offered a reduced number of functions. Many sites claim to offer free web hosting and their provision is perfect for people who do not want to spend money on their website and do not require many features. These free hosts are usually catered for on a subdomain or perhaps a directory. The features that are found on a free web host include:

* A control panel based on the web

* Being able to use scripting languages like Perl, PHP or ASP

* Having subdomain or domain hosted email accounts

* Being able to transfer files by means of FTP

* The provision of MySQL or related Relational databases

* Scheduled processes

* No limits placed on space with regards to data limitations

* Forums and community resources not typical of paid hosts

* A system of rewarding users with additional products or services

Many people see free web hosting as a good way to trail a site and many firms offer the basic package for free and then charge for an upgrade. This means users can determine if they like the service at no charge. There are plus points and bad points to free web hosting. There is no monthly fee but there may be many features you want but do not have, like having support or availability at all times. There are a host of free web sites and you may wish to look at Agility Hoster, Free Domain Site, Gigacities, Free Space or AX Space. If these do not suit your needs, the following firms may be better, Free Webhosting Pro, Free Webhosting, Trap 17, X10 Hosting and ForwardHost.

Negative issues of a free web host:

* A finite restriction of the size of each file

It offer very small bandwidth per month compared to paid hosting

The hotlinking of files is disabled

* There are restrictions on certain file types, such as MPEG, MP3 or ZIP)

* You need to have the Webhosts banner or Popup ads on every page.

There is no uptime guarantee provided

However, depending on your needs, a free web host server can be effective and fill all your requirements. There is no need for investment and can provide enough services to enable you to start any project online.

Are TV and Radio Ads Your Only Option? Any marketing team has researched intensively through industry ROI data, discussed possible marketing strategies over extended meetings, and developed extensive product development strategies. These are all designed to answer those crucial marketing decisions regarding marketing budget allocations. How do I increase my marketing ROI? Are expensive TV and radio broadcasts the best way to go? Should I look into developing my product’s in-store marketing capabilities? How do I raise customer awareness of my products?

Calculating marketing ROI is not easy; there isn’t a solid way of gauging what effects customer buying decisions. There are tendencies, and obvious ways of improving product awareness, but the only sure method is to employ an immense marketing budget that will raise product sales through a steady increase of product identity across the range of public perception.

Huge corporations have the flexibility to launch enormous marketing campaigns, designed to raise product awareness across the scope of public consciousness. But the ROI is not very efficient, at least in the short term; so this strategy isn’t an option for smaller to medium-sized companies. Their marketing budgets just cannot compete with corporate giants like McDonalds or Coca Cola.

Interestingly enough, this does not have to be a problem. Though the effectiveness of in-store marketing has always been known at least to some extent, recent data has hinted at much greater effectiveness than previously realized. Research companies like POPAI, B&T and others, have shown that an average of 70% of purchase decisions are made by a customer while walking around in the store!

That is an incredible statistic, but it makes perfect sense. A customer can watch a visually powerful TV ad, but then not be in a place to make a purchase for hours, or even days. So the question is: why spend money on raising product awareness, when a customer is just not ready to buy yet? There are more effective methods.

And these methods are centered on one important factor. The true determining factor in the decision to purchase a product based on your advertising, is recency. Meaning, how soon after the customer saw your advertising and marketing material was the client or customer in a position to buy?

So the most effective way to go is in-store marketing, or POP displays. They represent the only marketing medium that is in place when customer, product, and money all converge at the same time and place. That is the time to worry about the level of product imagery and presentation.

Is all of this possible? Of course it is. Be sure to have the right resources to make that educated decision, hire the right marketing personnel, team up with a well-informed manufacturing company, create product display designs that are visually appealing and whose message is best crafted to present product benefits. You’ll be well on your way to increasing company profits

Some say the first position in business management was Adam’s job to effectively manage Eve. We all know how that went. From time immemorial, organizations ranging from Adam and Eve’s two person operation all the way to the today’s international corporate monoliths have faced the challenges associated with managing people.

There have been famously successful CEO’s who have exhibited leadership skills dating back to their Cub Scout days. Most of us, however, have to work much harder at it. Luckily, we have a wide array of advice in print emanating from the string of management gurus going back over a century. Each generation since the advent of the Industrial Age has embraced their own set of experts in the realm of business administration.

Oftentimes, especially in a start-up scenario, the leader will often have to wear several hats. No job is beneath a manager of a newly formed business. Leadership is often forged in the crucible of the adversity associated with a fledgling business. Initial employees witnessing their boss down in the trench with them is invaluable in creating and engendering the respect which is requisite for a leader of any entity.

How would you perceive yourself as a boss should you have to work for yourself? This is an important reflection all managers should ponder. Most, however, remain focused on their own needs and problems ignoring the perspective of those working under them. This often proves to be a critical business mistake leading to staff disloyalty. Once you have lost the respect and loyalty of your employees, your mission becomes close to impossible.

The particular skills necessary to facilitate the managing of your business can widely vary. Are you initially without administrative help? A quick typing class might be a good idea to avoid sending out memorandums claiming how well you are absorbing the concepts of businessmanagement. Will you be managing a relatively large staff? If so, books relating to motivation and office politics should be high on the reading list.

Communication is critical within any corporate setting. Most of you reading this have experienced working for a boss who was less than ideal in terms of communicating with employees. Significant time and resources can be squandered when your team proceeds in the wrong direction because you failed to effectively communicate the game plan.

The realm of management most dreaded by many executives relates to when employees don’t fulfill your expectations. Many managers are at one extreme end of the spectrum or the other when it comes to this arena. Some are extraordinarily harsh and unduly mean. This creates fear, which perversely many managers desire. However, I challenge you to identify a famous successful manager who was more feared than he or she was respected. Other managers are at the other extreme, unable to mete out any discipline whatsoever. Neither end of this spectrum is desirable. Striking the medium being able to properly motivate and reinforce correct behavior amongst staff is an art learned over a lifetime in business management.

One is never done studying management. There is always something else to learn. Today, the Internet provides for a wide palate of resources geared to both the new as well as experienced manager. Obviously, as always, one should exercise sound judgment when selecting which guidance to follow. A book or web site titled “U 2 Can Lern Businessmanagement” is probably best avoided. In addition to written material, often the best resource is a trusted mentor who can guide you through the various traps and riddles all managers face at one time or another during their tenure.

There are many available resources for managers seeking to expand their knowledge base. Today, many of these are online at no charge. There are also many books, ebooks, guides, and videos well worth their cost. A mentor who can guide you through difficult times can also prove to be a critical resource. The most important first step is recognition on your part that there always exists more to learn and to keep your mind open to new ideas and philosophies of business management.

The conception and birth of the t-shirt was a normal occurrence. Nothing complicated. It might have passed off into the history of fashion without a walk down any of the world’s long ramps had not some subsequent events taken place. But its evolution, though short like is arm is quite an interesting one. For it started on its journey to fame as a humble underwear.

It was only in the early twentieth century that the idea of wearing an under cloth germinated, and in 1901, the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company began the manufacture of men’s underwear and this apparel came into existence as an piece of underclothing hidden away under a stratum of other dresses. But its prominence is due to the issue of a piece of underwear that had no collar, with short sleeves that looked extraordinarily like a “T” (hence the name of “t-shirt”) to the sailors of the US Navy going to the World War I theater.

In the beginning the it was known only as a piece of underwear. The concept of underwear did not really take off till the early twentieth century when in 1901 the P.H. Hanes Knitting Company started the manufacture of men’s underwear. But it was the Navy that really accelerated my evolution when it issued my predecessor, a piece of apparel with a crew neck and short sleeves with a T like outline (hence the T-Shirt) during World War I.

Though it was still considered as an underwear, the news reels from the war showed it being worn in the open by the soldiers, to beat the hot and humid European climate. But, as it almost always happens, Hollywood stepped in to make the this particular item of clothing more popular as an apparel on its own rights. It became to be noticed and popular by the 1950s when it was worn on the silver screen by Marlon Brando in “A Streetcar Named Desire” (1951) and then by James Dean in “Rebel Without a Cause” (1955). More of its appearances on the silver screen worn by prominent icons of the industry skyrocketed its image.

This casual dress was initially used for getting across a variety of simple messages, political, health etc. The Vietnam conflict saw it surfacing as a medium of protest. A more robust and elastic printing ink called Plastisol was discovered in 1950 and this invention saw more imaginative and creative communication being effected through the medium of the t-shirt.

This simple and inexpensive apparel became a means of displaying opinions, jokes, one-liners, graphic messages and the like. Anything and everything printable would have at one time or another been printed on it. Further developments in printing technology only helped in increasing its overall reputation. Now that the Internet is here, customizing a t-shirt to suit one idiosyncrasies is just a matter of mouse and keyboard use.

Now that the Internet is here, customizing a t-shirt to suit one idiosyncrasies is just a matter of mouse and keyboard use.

What one wears speaks volumes of wearer; this is a well known saying but the humble t-shirt manages to say a lot more that the others. You just can’t beat a t-shirt.

A well recognized fact is the fantastic growth of t-shirt and this fast development can be accredited to the Navy which began its complete success by the issue of an underwear with a silhouette of a ‘T’, short sleeves sans a collar as standard kit. As usual, Hollywood accelerated its popularity when icons like Marlon Brando and James Dean showed up in these shirts on the silver screen. The charm of these shirts shot through the roof and you were not considered to be “in” if you didn’t sport one. Cool – that’s what it was literally and figuratively. And, as the material from which it was manufactured developed in quality compounded with more robust printing techniques, the popularity of the t-shirt gained a phenomenal growth.

Every piece of clothing says something about the wearer; this is a well known adage, but the funny t-shirt does it more expressively. Mildly to extremely funny, on the edge of absurdity, comically rude and outrageous and also disgusting without being blatantly so, these t-shirts appealed to every one, irrespective of gender or age. The sheer audacity of these t-shirts is so awesome that that it leaves people catching their breaths. The limits to what use it can be put to has no boundaries.

In the political arena, these t-shirts are used to put across a political point or ridicule one, be supportive of a candidate or be mean to another. History tells us that during his 1948 Presidential crusade, the then Governor of New Your, Thomas E. Dewey used one such t-shirt with the message “Dew-IT with Dewey” printed on it.

There isn’t a subject on earth that has not appeared on the t-shirt in some funny form or another. Everyone and everything has been ridiculed. Americans, Britishers, Canadians, politicians, lawyers, girls, boys, dogs, cats, games and even human attitudes; just mention a subject and one is sure to find some funny t-shirt in some nook or corner sporting something hilarious on it. If it so happens that someone has a whacky phrase of his own and wants the society to know about, all that they have to do is to log on to the Internet, submit it to a website that specializes in making customized t-shirts, and Lo and Behold, it is delivered at their doorstep. It has become such a nationwide phenomenon that small children and senior citizens can be seen wearing them.

It is not just the front of the t-shirt, the back can also be expressive. The use of graphical images, weird fonts and play on words further enhances their popularity. The range of colors and the psychedelic images that they come in are to be seen to be believed. The beauty of it is that the use of these shirts is not restricted to just teenagers; infants to senior citizens use them.

The myriad possible uses of explicit and implicit graphical pictures, different colors and psychedelic auras, bizarre fonts, whacky catchphrases and play on words make the funny t-shirt a versatile medium to expression. The use of these techniques could have one wracked with laughter or might leave one stupefied enough to stand and gape at what is emblazoned in the front. Not to be out done, the back of the t-shirt is also capable of riveting you down.

There is a fair possibility that the wearer of the t-shirt might also be sending out a warning signal in a subtle, roundabout funny way. A teenager may be indirectly venting his anger by sporting an offensive and funny t-shirt. But one also has to be careful when wearing such a shirt. In these days when words and phrases can have double meanings, simple innocuous words may mean something totally different to some other person.

A rude or offensively funny t-shirt might just be the purpose of the person who is sporting it to give an expression of his or her anger against an individual or a concept; the more offensive the message the more his resentment. One has to be very guarded these days since a simple phrase that does not offend one may offend another. The best bet may be a t-shirt with a big empty circle drawn on it. Nothing to it.

Any small business that now thinks that the Internet is a passing fad is blind to the facts. There is still much confusion among small business owners about how to utilize the web to the marketing of their own small business. Marketing your small business on the Internet does not need to be expensive, nor does it need to be complicated.

Opportunities to market your small business are many and varied, just like in the real world.

For small businesses Internet marketing can be a surprisingly low-cost way of promoting your local small business. This promotion can be targeted locally, regionally or across the globe.

So, let’s hear these strategies I hear you say. And, how does one apply them?

There are numerous approaches, and this is where most people get confused. In essence there are THREE main approaches to small business Internet marketing, being…

1. Paid search marketing (Pay per click marketing, and its numerous variations), and… 2. In-context link marketing (being commercial links within content on a specific topic), and… 3. Natural search marketing (SEO, content marketing, blogs and its numerous variations).

So, with these different approaches, what are the pros and cons?

1. PAY PER CLICK SEARCH MARKETING:

Paid search marketing is paid advertising. You pay for your ad to be placed before people searching on specific keyterms. The effectiveness of your PPC campaign is directly related to the keyterms you chose to use, as well as the sales path you set up on your landing page (where people land when they click on your PPC link).

The PROS: If correctly targeted, you get prospects looking at what you want to sell and/ or promote quickly.

The CONS: A) Specialist skills required. And, you can lose a lot of money, fast! B) PPC specialists are not cheap. C) You continually need to run your ads. D) Can be very costly (especially for commercial keyterms). You only get to play as long as you continue to pay.

2. IN-CONTEXT LINK MARKETING:

This approach uses other people’s web site content as the platform for your advertising. The links are embedded inside the content on their web pages. This content is usually keyword focused. For example, let’s say that you sell wood heaters. When you engage in in-context link marketing your hyperlinks are placed within content on specific web site articles and/ or web pages about wood heaters.

The PROS: Information is the currency of the Internet. When you use these embedded hyperlinked, and within context ads correctly they can be a very effective advertising medium for small business. The clickthroughs may be lower than the PPC model, but the quality of visitor is usually much higher.

The CONS: A) You have little to no control over what web sites your links are placed on, which means that links can be placed within content that doesn’t quite fit sometimes. B) Best results are achieved by driving prospects to especially designed landing pages. Skill is required to set up these sales funnel paths. C) The demand for good, profitable commercial keyterms always exceeds supply, thus pushing up the price for the good terms.

3. NATURAL SEARCH MARKETING:

Natural search is where people go to the Internet, type a keyterm into a search engine, and the search engine returns a list of the most appropriate web page on the web with has that keyphrase in it. When done correctly this marketing method has significant benefits for small business marketing their bricks and mortar businesses on the web.

Note: It’s important to understand that search marketing is different from SEO. SEO is a term used to describe the optimization of a web site and its pages for the search engines to be able to spider pages correctly.

The PROS: With natural search marketing tactics properly applied to the marketing of a small business it has a distinct advantage on the net. Why? Well, marketing analysis has determined that people purchase 90% of their needs from within a 10 miles radius of where they actually physically live. As people use the web more and more in daily life it is natural that if these same people find YOUR local business when they search the web for a solution to a problem that YOU then become their chosen solution. This is search marketing in action, locally.

The CONS: A) Search marketing strategies require more effort than the potential throwing money at the wall techniques of the other strategies. B) It can be a slower approach than the other methods discussed. However it has been proven time and again that search marketing is an ideal and cost effective method for small businesses to use on the net.

So, in summary… Small Business Internet marketing no longer needs to be the mysterious world it once appeared to be for small businesses. However, there is still a great divide between those small businesses that employ smart marketing strategies as the foundation of their online marketing systems, and those that don’t.

Bright vibrant color postcards are a proven marketing tool to reach out to your prospective customers and influence them into buying your products and services. This is the most cost-effective medium to communicate with your customer and to keep them updated with relevant information. Postcards have been used as marketing tools for ages, but with the advancement of printing technologies, full color postcards have gradually replaced black and white postcards.

Eye catching and appealing designs will always make instant impact when customers see your full color postcards. Due to time constraints nowadays, people do not have the time to review lengthy text brochures. Postcards are easier to read than a booklet or catalogue and have replaced a multi-page brochure at a more cost effective price. The simple format of the postcard is so appealing that the customer can understand almost immediately what message you are trying to communicate.

Printing postcards in full color is usually done on an offset press. But as today’s marketers prefer a more personalized approach to their marketing campaigns to make it even more effective, digital printing is slowly gaining edge over offset. Thanks to the dynamic features like “variable data printing,” digital printing techniques can make each postcard personalized and unique.

Color management has improved so much by offering you an opportunity to see the original print as shown on the monitor or during the design stage. You can make the postcard more attractive by adding metallic or fluorescent colors.

The choice of stock, substrate on which the final printing will take place, is also a critical parameter for ultimate look and the quality of the postcards. There are many choices available today for stocks like gloss finish, matte finish, pearl finish etc. Depending on the design, you have to select the stock. You can also decide to give some sort of special effect to the printed postcards to emphasize specific area of the text or image by applying UV varnish or special effect varnish.

Should you choose to use the offset printing method it is actually less expensive to print in larger quantities. But, if you have designed your postcard using the digital press method then print in small quantities. You can meet your budget requirements utilizing both processes.

By using full color postcards as part of your marketing campaign, you will definitely be effective in reaching your customer base and in giving information about your products and services without wasting your customer’s time.

Most promotional materials received in the mail usually goes straight into the garbage, based on statistics. But, by marketing with full color postcards you eliminate that concern because people are most likely to remember something that is vibrant and with colorful designs. They will help in turning your potential client base into loyal and long-term customers and in meeting your company’s revenue target.

There is more business being done online than ever before. There are hundreds of thousands of new business web sites coming on every month. 70% of the US population (233 million people) are online. Over 1.2 billion people worldwide are online. The question is how do we find clients in an ocean of competitors?

Part of the answer to the above question is which number do you focus on, the number of people on line or the number of competitors? If you are focused on the number of people online, read on. If you are more focused on the number of competitors, read on.

Search engine marketing has been proven to have the lowest cost per acquisition of any other marketing medium. It is the only medium where people are actively searching for you. A successful campaign should include a web site designed around one question: “What are your clients looking for?” This is the starting point and may seem basic but it is surprising how many people have are just scratching the surface in their understanding of this.

Your clients are in need of solutions, answers or products. Do they know:

1.that you exist? 2.the unique value that you bring to the table? 3.the depth of knowledge and experience you can bring to bear in helping them solve their issues? 4.the passion that you have for meeting their needs?

SEO Management SEO (search engine optimization), is the art helping people find what they are looking for, on your site”. A well optimized website requires two elements the correct “on page” optimization so that the search engines can determine the relevancy of the information you are presenting. Yes, it is not as important as it use to be but it is still needed. Another essential piece of the puzzle is “off page optimization”. This is having web sites linking back to yours. You may think that you are important and provide a great service to mankind but if no one else does you will not get ranked well. Quality links to your web site and an on going linking strategy is absolutely vital for good rankings. SEO optimization is not a onetime deal it is an ongoing process.

PPC Management Pay-per-click is a fantastic way to drive traffic to your site from the major search engines. It can also suck your marketing budget dry in just a couple of days if not done properly. The goal of the search engines (and their strategies) is more clicks. The more people click on your ads the more money the search engines make. Their strategy is to get as many clicks as possible with in your budget and they are willing to do that all day long. Great for them bad for you.

The real goal should be more conversion with less clicks and lower cost. For lead generation sites this will mean lower cost per conversion. For e commerce sites this will result in a higher “return on ad spend”. It is easy to figure out: profit/ad spend=% and if that % is not over 101% you are losing money! The only way to do that is to track every thing from clicks to conversions; cost per click to cost per conversion; total revenue. PPC Management should be the process that is designed to make that happen.

Click Fraud Management Click Fraud is a fact of life in the online world. The search engines are getting better at detecting and crediting their online advertisers. The key is to find a Click Fraud program that can track an IP address even if the go to another search engine and click on your ads and give them a warning that they are being tracked. It is amazing how bad behavior stops if the they know they are being watched and tracked! Also, some click fraud caused by our clients who find it easier to keep clicking on our ad instead of book marking our page. This will give them a gentle reminder to do that.

Many Roads It is also important to examine as many roads to your site as possible. Find blogs where your clients hang out. Write articles and publish them on the web. There are hundreds of sites that will publish you articles for free. For a nominal fee some sites will push your article out to thousands of other sites looking for content, Isnare.com is a good example. This is great from three perspectives. One, you will get a tremendous amount of links back to your site. Secondly, this will lead to increase traffic and thirdly writing articles will help establish you as an expert in your field. There are newsletters, co-registration, affiliate marketing. The key is to research these and see what will work for you.

Hire or not to Hire outside help

“How do I know if I need help?”

You might need help if:

1.Your clients and customers are not able to find you on the search engines. 2.You do not know why your competitors are in the top ten search results and you are on page 10,001! 3.You can not keep up with the changing technologies and even the changes in the market. 3.You do not have the time to take away from what you do best, running your business!

If you do need help, do your home work.

1.Get references and call them. 2.Get specifics about how they have helped their clients. 3.Find out how many clients they have and how many your account manager will handle. 4.Get a specific action calendar. Know what they are going to do and when it will be complete. 5.Make sure they understand your products, services and goals. 6.Do not be afraid to get another company to “audit” their work.

Finally This is serious business and one can loose a lot of money and time very quickly if you do not do it correctly. The bottom line is, if your customers cannot find you, they will find someone else. If you do not have someone in house with a passion to help grow your business. Find someone who knows what is important to the search engines and will not get you banned.

With the recent rise in advanced social networking sites and the subsequent attention they have received from media outlets, people commonly perceive weblogs–which are the staple of social networking–as a new invention; however, this isn’t entirely true. Adding information to web-logs or “blogs”–blogging defined today–has been around for over ten years–and has gradually gained strength on the Internet as means of communication.

While people blogging in the early 1990s generally limited their blogs to personal information, such as chronicles and diaries, bloggers defined today includes blogging on a wide variety of different topics–from politics to cheese-tasting; however, blogging defined today is very much the same: a simple means to better facilitate communication.

Blogging defined is one of the most effective means of Internet-based communication because it is relatively easy and requires little time investment. Using a blogging interface like Wordpress or Google’s Blogger, a blog owner can add a new entries to his blog while he sits in a meeting at work or watches events unfold on TV. Rather than fooling around with messy code, he can simply enter his message textually in his blog; and then update it in a matter of seconds.

Another crucial aspect of blogging that makes it such an effective medium for communication is that it allows for rapid-response comments. A political debate could literally unfold over the course of the afternoon in the form of comments on a blog.

Conversely, blogging defined by the media is often “controversial,” but it doesn’t have to be that way. Many blogs are used to simply say “hello” to friends who are blog owners. This is quite common with social networking sites, such as Myspace and Livejournal–both of which use a form of blog to facilitate communication.

Whether blogging defined is a form spurring debate between political opponents or blogging defined is a means of increasing bonds between friends, they have the ability to rapidly increase the speed of communication by acting as a sort of intermediary between a full-featured website and a forum.

If you are one of the hoards of businesses looking to gain local exposure for your corporation then you are probably facing the difficult decision of finding the right PR firm. What can make this decision difficult is that there are so many different kinds of public relations firms out there. Some are local, some national. Some retainer based, some project based. So how do you know which PR firm will be the best fit for your company’s publicity objectives ? Here Marsha Friedman, CEO of Event Management Services Inc (EMSI), a national PR firm , will share her first 5 tips on how to choose the RIGHT PR firm to get your message the media coverage that you desire

1. Find a public relations firm that specializes in your industry. “For example,” says Friedman ,” if you have a technical Business to Business then you should find a national PR firm that specializes in Business to Business . If the PR firm regularly works with companies that are in your industry, they will be familiar with how to convey your message to the media.” Another great thing is that they will be able to get started immediately . “If you choose a local PR firm who is unaccustomed to your industry, be prepared for them to spend some time researching your industry in order to get a full handle on your topic” adds Friedman . And guess who will be paying for the PR firm’s research time: you! “Most firms charge a costly monthly retainer, so the longer it takes for them to get started the more money that will be coming out of your public relations budget . Just to give you an idea the minimum is around $3,000 per month, the industry average is approximately $5,000 per month and the large PR firms can charge anywhere from $20,000-30,000 per month.”

2. Choose a public relations firm that specializes in your media of choice. If you are ready to hire a PR firm, then chances are that you have given a bit of thought as to what medium you want to use. “By the time you get to the point where you are looking for a PR firm, you should know if you want to use tv, radio or print to gain attention for your company. It is useful to know that not all PR firms work with all types of media,” says Friedman . “A whopping 95% of firms specialize exclusively in magazine and newspaper attention .” If you want to use the electronic media to spread your message to the masses it is in your best interest to search for a public relations firm that deals exclusively with these. “The best way to find out,” says Marsha Friedman, “is to ask thePR firm what media that they specialize in!simple as that!”

3. Make sure you request sample campaigns. “Before choosing a public relations firm, request to see some sample promotional campaigns that the firm executed for their clients,” says Friedman. “This is the best way to find out the quantity and quality of their work.” Make sure to ask what the duration of the campaign was. “For example, if they show you a PR campaign that has one huge newspaper placement (such as USA Today or The New York Times) and the duration of the campaign was 2 years – think twice. “If it took 2 years to get one major newspaper , based on the minimum retainer level, you would have paid a massive $72,000 for that one newspaper or magazine hit.” Sample PR campaigns are a great indicator of the effectiveness, especially the cost effectiveness, of a PR firm’s work.

4. Find a pay-for-performance PR firm! The costly monthly retainer can drain a tight budget , so it is good to know that there are other options out there. Friedman says, “There are a handful of PR firms out there that get paid based on their performance or per project. My firm is one of these and my client’s really love it. The reason is that they only pay for the media exposure that my PR firm actually obtains for them. So instead of paying a monthly fee, they pay for the results that my PR firm obtains for them.” By choosing a non-retainer based firm you are truly making your PR firm put their money where their mouth is!

5. Speak to the PR firm’s clients. When you are choosing a national PR firm it is very important to ask to speak to some of their clients, past or present. When you get them on the phone, ask the PR firm’s clients what sort of radio, TV and print exposure they received and how long it took for the PR firm to obtain it for them. Friedman adds, “Great questions to ask are; How well did the PR firm’s staff interact with them? Attentive to your needs as a client? How creative were the pitches and press releases? These answers will give you valuable insight as to how the PR firm will handle your campaign.”

There you go ! The first five tips on how to choose the right PR firm for you! Stay tuned and Marsha Friedman will share her next five tips in Part 2. If you are one of the hundreds of businesses looking to gain national media attention for your business, corporation or product then you are probably facing the difficult decision of finding the right public relations firm. What can make this decision difficult is that there are so many different kinds of public relations firms out there. Some are local, some national. Some retainer based, some project based. So how do you know which PR firm will be the best fit for your company’s publicity objectives ? Here Marsha Friedman, Managing Director of EMSI, a national public relations firm , will share her 10 tips on how to choose the RIGHT public relations firm to get your message the media exposure that you desire.

1. Find a PR firm that specializes in your industry. “For example,” says Marsha Friedman,” if you have a technical B2B business then you should find a national public relations firm that specializes in B2B. If the public relations firm regularly works with companies that are in your industry, they will be familiar with how to convey your message to the media.” Also, they should be able to get started right away . “If you choose a national public relations firm who is unaccustomed to your industry, be prepared for them to spend some time researching your industry in order to get a full handle on your topic” adds Marsha Friedman. Just to give you an idea the minimum is around $3,000 per month, the industry average is approximately $5,000 per month and the large public relations firms can charge anywhere from $20,000-30,000 per month.”

2. Choose a PR firm that specializes in your medium of choice. If you are ready to hire a public relations firm, then chances are that you have given a bit of thought as to what medium you want to use. “By the time you are ready to find a public relations firm you should know what medium you want to use to spread your message. It is useful to know that not all public relations firms work with all types of media,” says Marsha Friedman. “A whopping 95% of firms specialize exclusively in newspaper and magazine exposure .” So if you are interested in doing radio or television you need to find a firm that specializes in these mediums. “The best way to find out,” says Friedman, “is to ask the public relations firm if their specialty is radio, TV or print !simple as that!”

3. Ask the PR firm to supply sample campaigns. “Before choosing a PR firm, request to see some sample public relations campaigns that the firm completed for their clients,” says Marsha Friedman. “This way you can see the quantity and the quality of the media obtained for their clients.” When you are given a campaign it is important to know what the duration of the campaign was. “For example, if they show you a public relations campaign that has one huge newspaper placement (such as USA Today or The New York Times) and the duration of the campaign was 2 years – think twice. “If it took 2 years to get one major newspaper , based on the minimum retainer level, you would have paid a massive $72,000 for that one newspaper hit.” Sample public relations campaigns are a great indicator of the effectiveness, especially the cost effectiveness, of a public relations firm’s work.

4. Find a pay-for-performance public relations firm! The costly monthly retainer can drain a tight budget , so it is good to know that there are other options out there. Marsha Friedman says, “There are a handful of public relations firms out there that get paid based on their results . EMSI is a pay-for-performance firm and our clients love it . The reason is that they only pay for the media exposure that my public relations firm actually secures for them. So instead of paying a monthly fee, they pay for the results that my public relations firm obtains for them.” By choosing a non-retainer based firm you are truly making your public relations firm put their money where their mouth is!

5. Speak to the public relations firm’s clients. When you are choosing a national public relations firm it is very important to ask to speak to some of their clients, past or present. When you speak to the clients , ask the public relations firm’s clients what sort of radio, TV and print exposure they received and how long it took for the public relations firm to obtain it for them. Marsha Friedman adds, “Great questions to ask are; How well did the public relations firm’s staff interact with them? Did they seem interested in the campaign? Were the pitches quality? These answers will give you valuable insight as to how the public relations firm will handle your campaign.”

6. Be confident in their skill in public relations . Before you agree to work with a PR firm, make sure that you are convinced that the public relations firm will be able to help you reach your public relations goals. Don’t forget to ask lots of questions, request copies of sample campaigns and then do a comprehensive review of all of the materials. “I would suggest that before you make your final decision you talk to owners and definitely request a proposal”, says Marsha Friedman , “ask the important questions. What media will they be using to get you exposure? How long the campaign will last? What are the goals of the campaign? How long will it take to meet these goals? How the public relations firm answers these questions will ultimately determine the level of confidence you have in their ability to service your campaign .

7. Don’t limit yourself to public relations firms in your area. If you’re looking for regional or national exposure don’t limit your search to public relations firms that are located within your area . “Lots of clients think that the firm needs to be right around the corner so it is easily accessible for weekly meetings , “says Marsha Friedman . “But this is not how it works. In my 20 years of gaining national and local media attention for my clients, I have only had a face-to-face meetings with a small number . The reason for this is that it is not essential . All of a public relations firm’s work can be done via electronic mediums which is a far more efficient, and time saving, way to work.” If your goal is to attain national media attention, find a public relations firm that specializes pitching to the national media. A national media public relations firm’s know-how is what is important, not where they are located. If your goal is to gain local media attention, this is when it is a good idea to look for a local firm. Marsha Friedman says “As they are in the middle of the market you are after, their contacts and knowledge will be far more effective than that of a national public relations firm.”

8. Meet your Campaign Manager. There is one person in particular who plays a vital role in driving the success of at the public relations firm: your Campaign Manager. Before you make the decision on which public relations firm you use, meet your Campaign Manager. Find out what their experience level is and how long they have been with the public relations firm. “A great nugget of information is that many Campaign Managers are rookies fresh from college,” says Marsha Friedman . “Even more frightening is that many national and local public relations firms hire interns to handle the client accounts that are not at the ‘top of their list.’ ” If you don’t investigate the qualifications of your Campaign Manager, then how can you be confident that your campaign will be handled with professional care ?

9. Find a public relations firm that believes in you . The best type of public relations firm is one that not only understands your message but also has enthusiasm for your topic. Marsha Friedman says, “If you find a public relations firm like this, their enthusiasm for your message will show in how they handle your campaign . The pitches and press releases will be more creative and their communications to the media will be attention grabbing and clear.” In order for a public relations firm to successfully work for you, they need to understand your passion and be able to translate it into something that will be of interest to the masses. It can be quite costly if they misunderstand your point.”

10. Trust your gut. Marsha Friedman says, “My final tip to choosing the right public relations firm has everything to do with your instincts ‘. When you are in the process of deciding if a public relations firm is a right fit for your needs it is inevitable that you will have strong views about their work and approach. I would advise that even if everything looks fantastic on paper, or in a snazzy presentation, if you have absolutely any reservations think twice about choosing the firm.” Gut feelings tend to be accurate, so if the chemistry is off in any way, be weary of signing the contract . There is nothing worse then finding out your gut feelings were right when it is too late!

Obtaining national media attention through using newspapers and magazines is a fabulous way to create a spike in your sales leads. Advertising is the most popular way to get attention, but proves to be the most costly.

Ever want to see your company, product or service featured in a national newspaper or hot trade title? Then you are not alone. But should you be doing this? Is there any value? The answer to the first question is: DO IT! Newspapers and magazines build consumer awareness both nationally and locally. Now let’s have PR expert Marsha , Founder of EMSI , a national public relations firm, give you the answer the second question: Is there any positive value in appearing in newspapers and magazines? : 1. Anything written is perceived to be true. In any business industry it is important to have and continue building credibility. It is vital to have credibility in your industry because without it, your message will fall on deaf ears. One of the most valuable aspects of using a print campaign to get media coverage is that anything written is believed to be an absolute fact. “So don’t forget to use these profile building articles for future PR use! ” says Marsha .

2. Attractive demographics. If you are familiar with the major book chains, then you know how many aisles that they dedicated solely to newspapers and magazines. Newspapers and magazines are scattered all over the floors and filling the racks with more titles than ever before. “With over 137 million Americans regularly reading a daily newspaper and more than 31,000 publications ranging from pets to fitness , print media hold mass appeal as a key source of entertaining and educating ” says Marsha ,. 3. A huge variety of publications. There are so many different publications that you can target when using the print medium – monthly and bi-monthly magazines, daily and weekly newspapers, local and national magazines . Marsha , adds, ” There are more choices than you can shake a stick at when it comes to newspapers and magazines .” With so many choices there are great opportunities when it comes to targeting the perfect ones ! In the world of print, the more choice there is, the more opportunities you have to penetrate niche markets.

4. Interviews are not all held over the phone. There are so many inundated professionals who squirm at the notion of a lengthy phone interview with a journalist. Are you afraid of saying the wrong thing? “Another great aspect of the print media is that many interviews are done via email which is great because it removes the pressure of coming up with the perfect answer on the spot “, says Marsha . Email interviews are becoming the norm and really help you by providing the time to answer the questions adequately.

5. All publications have opportunities for you! Many people think that if you are not going to get your article published in a major national newspaper or magazine, then a print PR campaign is a waste of time – ‘I want USA TODAY or Nothing!’ It is true, coverage in a huge national title can be phenomenal, but you may be missing a huge segment of your market! ” Don’t discount coverage in small publications”, says Marsha ,. “Every inch of every paper is extremely valuable and will help you build a profile that the media cannot ignore. “

Hopefully these tips will get you inspired, out there and writing! Just about everybody knows about the high margins created by information products. Information products routinely command 10, 25, or even 100 times the cost of the product whether it takes the form of a book, ebook, CD, DVD, or online video course. It should come as no surprise the number of information publishers is growing rapidly. Huge margins like that are attractive.

There are many mediums from which to choose for information products but DVDs might be the best way to go. Don’t listen to the misguided fools who’ll try to tell how difficult is to make a DVD, how you’ll have to buy expensive software, and how you’ll have to deal if inventory & shipping nightmares because none of that is true. The reality is those people are too lazy to look around and see how simple it is to create a DVD information product.

The fact is that DVDs are very simple to make and don’t require investing in expensive software. In fact, I create DVDs without spending a nickel. Yes it does require a few software programs but the ones I use are freely available on the Internet and they work incredibly well. In fact, the software I use to convert avi files to DVD files comes with an incredible support forum that answered my questions within 24 hours. That’s better service than a lot of products I’ve actually paid for.

There are many ways to handle the manufacturing & shipping of your DVDs. I prefer a service called Kunaki which takes care of the manufacturing and shipping of the DVDs in real-time as the orders come in. The costs are very reasonable at $1.75 for the DVD & cover plus a $3 handling charge which is passed on to the customer. Kunaki offers several reasonably priced options for shipping both in the US and internationally. The product can be shipped via expedited shipping methods if customers want to pay for it. To get started you simply upload the files to Kunaki via their website and start taking orders. It couldn’t be any easier.

DVDs are attractive to information marketers for several reasons. First of all, there’s the high perceived value of DVDs when compared to books or online videos. What’s the price of a book? Anyone can go to a bookstore anywhere in the US and purchase a book for $20 or less. You’re likely to be disappointed if you expect to sell your book for more than $20. By contrast, DVDs are routinely sold for $100 or more…and the cost of the manufacturing the DVD is $1.75 including the cover. That leaves a lot of room for huge profit margins. And there’s no middleman to share the profits with since you’re self-publishing your DVD.

It gets better because Kunaki gives you the choice to add a UPC code to your DVD. If this doesn’t excite you, consider that the UPC code allows you to easily sell your DVD on Amazon. That provides instant credibility. You can show people the DVD you’re selling on Amazon while most information publishers are struggling to sell a few DVDs.

DVDs aren’t restricted to videos either. There are data DVDs on which you can put software programs or many other types of data or information. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are too many reasons for creating DVD information products to be covered in a single article.

When engaged in contract bargaining with a publisher, a writer doesn’t usually think about master resale rights. On the other hand, the publisher thinks right away about those potentially highly profitable elements of the deal where ebook resell rights are not spelled out. Clearly, the person who possesses these rights also has the possibility of making a big profit from them.

E-books are an increasingly popular way of promulgating information technology, and there is a great potential source of wealth in successful ebooks with resale rights for the person who owns the master resale rights. This, however, is the only way to find success in this creative medium, as there are a large number of these books available and the majority of them will not become popular or successful.

The goal to accumulate great wealth through collecting and selling master resale rights is possible, however, so is capital loss. For this reason, initial research and exploration into the domain of information technology is a good idea before investing money into the venture. Prospective purchasers can obtain kits full of information and seeking to outline popular prospects for buying these rights. Offered through numerous websites, these kits also offer select titles to help the purchaser begin. According to advertisers, the purchased rights can then be resold, and benefits of the sale will go to the purchaser.

Unfortunately, most of these electronic books are worthless and valueless. Obtaining the master resale rights to a bestseller, or even a popular book from which a purchaser might be able to profit greatly, is complicated, time-consuming, and offers a low likelihood of success. Moreover, too often a purchaser finds that the download format is not compatible with the format in which they are prepared to receive the book.

A person can create his own electronic books through websites that provide intelligent software and advances in technology. When these books are advertised, they are sold very quickly as they follow the methods and directions provided by the site owner. The authors can provide their master resale rights for the sale of every copy of the book and hence, earn a good amount of money.

People who are considering using this technology should research it thoroughly before getting involved with a business endeavor that, while well advertised, doesn’t have a great track record of success. Although some people have made money using this approach, the likelihood of failure greatly outweighs the likelihood of success.

During the 1990’s, the talk was all about big business. Big business topics dominated the field of conversation. Topics included brand names, changes in the stock market, the growing CEO salaries, and much more. People looked to large business for control of the market place. Generally the industry distinguishes these businesses on the basis of their revenue figures, but there are other ways also which are currently employed to gauge the category of a business like their employee strength, the capacity of production and others. Generally a small business is one which has a small number of employees working. Their office size may be small and their revenues also are considered to be lower.

Some ways through which a small business can create ripples in the market and become successful is by identifying the USP and having a core competence. Also, the business should start with a motivated and energetic team with efficient systems in place. They need to hire people very carefully, only those who fit in the model and who can contribute well to the business. Also, promotion of business is very important, there may be a lot of channels which can be used to promote and create a space in the minds of the consumer.

These businesses also need to remain committed and concentrate on growth by using their imagination to take advantage of new technology, partner with other businesses, and to offer good value, building customer trust. There is no reason why any small business can’t make it big if they follow these principles.

To succeed in online marketing, you must work well and hard. There is no difference in the AdSense business. Yet the people who earn extra cash with AdSense are the ones who work at it smarter rather than doing the same things over and over that do not produce good results.

Indeed, some online marketers think that working solely with high paying keywords is a good strategy. The most successful users of AdSense know that producing sites about multiple related medium priced keywords is the best strategy to earn extra cash. Then they earn extra cash by building sites that are part of that theme.

One theme used to build your sites could be ‘computers. A single web site limited strictly to computers is a common mistake many people will make. A much better idea is to create many different sites all related to computers about laptops, keyboards, hard drives and other computer-related information. It is the concept of more is better that will earn extra cash.

When you begin AdSense publishing, you need to keep these rules in mind to earn extra cash:

1. Record your results, even if they are not positive when you first start out.

2. State-of-the-Art technology is critical.

3. Keep your AdSense sites easy to navigate. Keep your sites focused on what they’re selling and nothing else.

4. An AdSense business is a real business, so treat it as one.

Each day, do what the most profitable AdSense marketers do and build on the niche or theme concept to produce sites of high quality.

There is essential work, and lots of it, when beginning to create sites, use content with the goal for the best SEO, and then tracking results, and then doing it all again.

The newest technology can help make your job as an AdSense marketer easier. Buying the best softwarenot necessarily the cheapestwill eventually earn you more money because you’ll be able to make additional sites in the same amount of time. AdSense is all about making as many highly profitable sites as possible.

A large AdSense income does not happen overnight. The best way to earn extra cash with your AdSense business is to follow the rules outlined here and constantly build more sites. Through following these guidelines, you too can reach AdSense victory.
