Read other popular blogs to get an idea, or maybe watch a few popular videos on the topic you want to write about, and tie your content into theirs. If you can, find a very popular video or article that has over 1000 views and then expand on what they had to say, almost as if you’re finishing a soap after the frustrating “To Be Continued” sign comes up at the end! lol That often gets you a lot of traffic because you’re filling in the gaps for people :-) They really appreciate that!

6. DO take advantage of your logo. Your logo is a constant branding image that your customers actually expect to see on your various advertising and marketing creative. Despite that observation, “Counting cards” is still a HITLOD keyword as of today. So sieze the opportunity ! As the movie is still new, people will still search for the “counting cards” keyword. If you have properly optimized the keyword, no doubt it will bring tons of traffic to your site. Blog about “counting cards” today and start counting the traffic to your site, later on count the money that comes with it !

The “3 first results” view we have on search is the Internet’s equivalent of the 10 second sound bite.

Right now Obama’s and McCain’s results are quite clean, partly, I believe, because these searches are monitored for quality. Certain crap spam won’t make it into these results until the election is well behind us.

But highlighting certain things from the past by making them come up through certain searches; this, I predict, will become common place.

Offensive search engine optimization, so to say, will become common place. It will be sneaky and hard to trace as you can’t monitor nor investigate every single search.

Matching good or damning “3 first results” to key and fringe searches will become as common place as buying AdWords for those searches is right now. Only AdWords is easily traceable, this isn’t.

The key here is that you don’t need to own the “conversation”, you don’t need to have every single blog post under control. You need to control the top 3 entries.

Shocked to the proverbial bone Bloomberg reported that “China’s economy, the biggest contributor to global growth, expanded at the slowest pace in five years as the financial crisis cut demand for exports. Gross domestic product rose 9 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier.”

Economy caught SARS?

To juice up the news, Bloomberg said that “China’s expansion was the weakest since the severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, epidemic slashed growth in the second quarter of 2003.”

To old China hands, this conjures up some of the worst memories, when China came to a grinding halt for months, while everybody had to stay home and was allowed to go to the shop once a week with guns pointed at you, worn by soldiers in HAZMAT gear. Can’t get any worse than that.

9% growth? That it?

Business folk all over the world would give their left eye or even more sensitive parts for 9% growth. Correction: A 9% rise of GDP could scare the rest of the world into believing that central bankers would raise interest rates to prevent more inflation.

In reality, China simply goes from an inflationary, unsustainable, and unhealthy double digit growth to a solid level everybody would love.

Of course, export growth in China slowed. It was meant to slow. Since the second half of 2007, the Chinese government tried everything to bring exports to more sustainable levels.

Points to consider:

- Retail sales in China rose 23.2 percent in September from a year earlier, matching the gain in August and close to the fastest pace in at least nine years.

- Urban disposable incomes for the first nine months of 2008 rose 14.7 percent from a year earlier. Rural cash incomes climbed 19.6 percent. People have more money and spend it.

- The formerly red-hot Chinese light vehicle market (which includes passenger vehicle and light commercial vehicle segments) is expected to slow in 2008, but it still will grow at very healthy rates. J.D. Power expects Chinese light vehicle sales to come in at 8.9 million units in 2008, which would be an increase of 9.7 % compared to 2007.

- Much of the decline in exports had its cause in the appreciation of the RMB. That was actually a reflection of the rapid depreciation of the USD which took place until July 2008. As gasgoo.com said, “for most local auto parts makers, the impact on exports brought by the demand slowdown of the global market triggered by the financial crisis will be less than that of the RMB appreciation.” Exports had been sinking steadily for the whole year.

The stock market knew it long before.

From a high of 6000 at the beginning of 2008, the Chinese stock market eroded to around 2000 now. > without most outside the country even noticing. Since January, the Chinese stock market lost more than 60% of its value, a huge bubble burst, without an echo in the rest of the world.

The Dollar rises. The Yuan stays.

In case you have been looking, the USD took a sharp turn and appreciated dramatically since July. This should be reflected in the USD/CNY currency pair, shouldn’t it?

Have a look at the chart. Until July, the Yuan pretty much appreciated against the USD as the Euro did. The Dollar went down, the Euro and the Yuan went up.

But what happened when the USD started rising, starting in July? The USD/CNY rate barely budged. The EUR/CNY rate did move.

Bloomberg said that the Chinese “central bank has stalled gains by the Yuan against the Dollar since mid-July, protecting jobs in export industries.”

Not true. The chart says they did just the opposite. The Yuan should have gone down sharply against the USD along with the other currencies. However, the Yuan barely moved.

The chart says that the Chinese central bank may have propped up the Yuan against the US Dollar. China also took other measures to cool down their overheating export machine, such as not refunding parts of the VAT for exports, and actually charging export tax on certain items.

Yuan due to go down.

Expect the USD/CNY rate to change radically within the next months, latest after the U.S. elections. We expect the Yuan to drop against the USD, the easiest way for the Chinese government to make Chinese exports more attractive. In the first half of 2008, this would have been a rather unpopular move. But now, the world has other problems than watching the CNY/USD currency pair. If anyone does complain, the obvious explanation is that in light of the strength of the Dollar, the Yuan must follow suit and go down.

And when the USD will drop, as it should when America cranks up the presses to print money to finance the bailout and two wars, the Chinese can keep the USD/CNY level, and make their goods even cheaper in Euro terms.

More measures possible:

The tax measures designed to dampen exports will most likely be lifted. Sinking commodity prices and record-low transport prices make low wage countries like China even more competitive.

Bloomberg is right: China is the country that keeps the world economy alive. The Chinese have the incentive and financial wherewithal to keep it that way. They have nearly unlimited room to grow. Most Western markets are saturated. European and Japanese have demographics that point to shrinking markets. Out of this recession, China should emerge stronger than ever.

As you sit down to begin the search for a supplier, you quickly realize that there is a lot to consider. How do you go about making a choice that’s the right fit for your business? With several areas to consider, it’s best to break the decision-making process into a few, specific areas. Asking a few key questions can help you make the proper selection.

Where Do I Begin?

Great question. Chances are you’ve already received calls from Independent Sales Organization (ISO) reps who offer a variety of services you need – credit card and check acceptance, transaction processing equipment (terminals), payroll services and even gift cards. You may have received responses from gift card companies after requesting a call by virtue of an online lead form. You’ve heard the pitches – but how do you choose the right gift card company for you?

Begin with a few simple queries for your ISO or gift card seller. If you are talking with an ISO, figure out which of the gift card suppliers they represent and learn a little more about them. Some suppliers focus solely on gift card programs and, therefore, may be more experienced to help their clients/businesses in finding the perfect program for their needs and purposes. Other companies may offer gift cards in addition to a host of financial services.

Look closer. Ask whether they are using a proprietary gift card system and platform or whether they are licensing a system from someone else. Ask them what their stated uptime is. (It can be aggravating to have a system go down for some technical issue right when you are trying to process or sell a card to a customer.) Ask what kind of customer service program is in place. Is their phone support available on their dime? How about email? Is there an all-hours, all-days service coverage in place if a problem comes up?

You’ll also want to take a look at the transaction processing programs offered by the companies you are evaluating. Many offer “flat-fee” programs that include all program activity for one monthly fee for a large block of transactions. Other programs may bill on a “per-transaction” basis where the monthly fees are reduced or eliminated and the merchant pays a small fee when a card is activated, value is added, it is redeemed, or when a customer checks a card balance. Often the best way to choose between these options is to estimate card sales and the resulting transaction activity and compare the costs of each plan.

There are countless articles in magazines and books written to encourage people like you to set business goals. No doubt you have specific goals set out for your business. The best goals will be SMART. That means they are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and time related.

If your goals are specific, they will be set up with a specific time frame in mind and a deadline of when they must be accomplished. They will also be clearly written out so you know exactly what you want to do. For example, if your goal is to earn income working from home, you could make it more specific by saying you want to earn a steady income of $500 within the next two months. Your goal will be easier to reach that way.

In order to stay on track with your goals, they also need to be measurable. That means that if your goals are related to how much you earn, you need to make the goal measurable by giving it a specific figure. You also need to give your goal a measurable time frame to work within.

An Attainable Goal is a goal you know you can achieve. Don’t be fooled by the word “attainable”. It can still be a challenging goal and require effort to achieve it, but it does need to be something you can do. For instance, if your goal is to learn to build websites and you have absolutely no experience, your goal shouldn’t be to build a huge, portal website in a week.

Learning how to use web design software and then developing a small website is an attainable goal related to web design. If you pressure yourself to reach goals that are not reasonably attainable you will only frustrate yourself and that will lead to the bad habit of procrastination due to being afraid of failing.

Your goals need to be realistic as well. In the first mentioned example of earning $500 a month in the next two months, this goal could be made quite unrealistic if it was changed to earning $500 within the next week.

Owning a profitable at-home business is not always an instantaneous process; it requires hard work and effort. Setting mini or stair-step goals for yourself will be more beneficial than aiming for one enormous one.

All the example goals given are time related. You will be more motivated to accomplish your goals if you have a specific time scheduled to complete them. Procrastination is far easier to fall into if your goals are not set with a time to reach them in mind. Time related goals will move you to reach them quickly.

BNI’s claim to fame is as the largest referral organization in the world. The rules allow for only one person per business profession. As someone who has past experience as a member of a BNI South Florida chapter, I am sharing some of those in order for you to better decide if BNI is for you.

BNI started in the mid 1980’s in California. The founder Dr. Ivan Misner, is still the Chairman. The organization has grown throughout the last 20 plus years and now boasts chapters all over the world.

What’s it all about?

When joining an existing chapter or starting one on your own, you’ll want to keep two things in mind. One thing, you’ll want to know who will be good referrals for the others in the chapter. And of curse you’ll want to be constantly recruiting new people for membership.

Chapter members are expected to pass a minimum of one referral peer week. Should you not have a referral, either bringing a visitor or giving a testimonial about a member you’ve done business with is acceptable. Its frowned upon if you do none of the above.

What the benefit to you as a member?

You benefit when you pass referrals because the people receiving those referrals will feel an obligation to return the favor. Think of it this way, how do you feel when you receive over the holidays and you don’t have one to return to the person who gave it to you. Same thing goes for business referrals.

The reasons that you want to continue to recruit new members is so that the chapter will continue. Statistics have shown that when a chapter has 20 members there are about 20 referrals passed per week. Once a chapter grows to 30 members the referrals move up to about 40 per week. You can see the benefit of having a larger chapter. Another advantage of a larger chapter is that over time you will always lose members through attrition, and with a larger chapter you will still remain strong.

BNI is a very well structured and worthwhile organization. Some chapters have difficulty because of an attitude of strict adherence to the bylaws, others benefit from them. The one member per profession can certainly be considered a strength of the organization.

Just a few final things to mention. When you join a BNI chapter, according to the rules, you can not join another similarly structured – one person from each business – group. Another thing to keep in mind is that although BNI’s business structure is pure MLM, it does not allow its members to promote business opportunities, only products.

That day I sad in the jury room waiting for the time to come for my serving I was listing the magazine and I saw a very interesting article about \”Why Vacations Sales is the best option for Mortgage Brokers\”. If I was at home I would more that sure skipped it, but I was a captive audience at the time.

The article described how a mortgage broker could make more money by selling private resort vacations than by selling the property outright. The idea was to sell people a piece of the condo. I donat mean a room or a wall, but a piece of it as in a week or two every year. The cost to the buyer is divided between several buyers spread out over time, making it affordable to more people.

Paying in hotels is expensive especially if you had chosen for sports vacation. I had that experience in Hawaii in the 1980’s. An hour sales pitch nearly a pair of free tickets to a dinner show, as we have heard.

In the presentation there also was a slide show of a condo with very nice furnish. There was a man strutting back and forth in front of 50 people into the conference room of the hotel. And I did not remember all the details because I heard my name, so I had to go do my jury duty.

When I got back, my magazine was gone. aHave you seen a magazine lying around here?a I asked the man sitting next to me. It was turned to an article about members only resort vacations.a I looked down and there on the floor under the chair was the magazine. I always asked myself if he bought the condo in Hawaii, but if he didn’t someone sure did. Every working man is dreaming of having it’s own resort vacation. That would be the end of paying too expensive prices in hotels and finally have your own vacation with your own furnish and everything that is inside the condo.
