The next most important words are in the first line of the first paragraph of your article. People surfing the internet today have terribly short attention span and mostly skim for information unless it is information that they think is going to solve a problem, make life better for them or serve a need. As you can see, the title and first line are bait and hook used to encourage a reader to continue on and read to the end of the article. Again, the first line must contain the key words and grab attention. “The women were hanging all over my car looking at all the neat gadgets I had”. If you were looking for attention from women, you would keep reading.

The article banks want short articles. Brief, in fact! The longest an article should be is 400 words but closer to 300 is better. You can get carried away and end up with an article that is 1000 words or more when discussing a subject in which you are interested and know a lot about. If you wind up with a long wordy article just break it down into three or four short articles.

Keep in mind that short attention span we discussed earlier and use short sentences and paragraphs. And don’t use big words or run-on sentences. Make your article pleasing to the eye and it will be read.

Excess punctuation shows a lack of respect for the reader. Especially exclamation points – one can be used to show excitement or importance but any more are just plain rude.

The resource box at the end of your article is the most important part to you. E-zine publishers or website owners who download and reproduce your article are required to include your resource box. For best results this box must contain your full name, contact information and, above all, a link to your website. This link is what is going to help increase traffic for you.

Warning! Do NOT word-wrap your url! It must be typed out in full, http://www.whatever.com. Not all E-zine editors send out their newsletters and E-zines using email programs that support word-wrapped links so it is possible to ruin your own purpose by word-wrapping your website url.

Submitting Articles: Once you have found article banks and article repositories on the Internet by simple doing a search using your favorite search engine it is time to submit your articles. Every site has their own guidelines for accepting articles which you must follow or risk rejection.

Software is available for use in automatically submitting articles to the article repositories and banks. The problem here is that most of the larger, more effective repositories and banks will not publish automated submissions. So even though this software can save time when submitting to smaller sites, this doesn’t help much with the bigger more well known sites.

Submitting articles can be time consuming and boring, but it is work that will provide a lot of targeted traffic to your site. Every person who reads an article you’ve written is also exposed to your URL. If they like the article because it provides good information for them, they will visit your site. Once there, they may buy something you are selling or maybe opt-in for your mailing list… or possibly even do both. There are services available to submit your articles for you. You do have to pay for this service.

People browsing the web devour information at a fast pace and just want easy to read info.

People can get bored reading lots of information, so mke sure you write in lots of paragraphs.

* It’s important to note that writing an article is NOT a promo for your business. If you do this then the Article Directories will just reject it anyway, so don’t waste your time. Write some REAL information that people can use. If they think you are interesting and have good info they are more likely to look at who wrote it to find out more about you.

Also don’t expect direct responses from articles. The main aim is actually more long term. It helps get your organic listing higher in the search engines and to get your name out there as an expert. It’s a long term thing, so you may even have to write as many as 10-20 articles to start seeing increased traffic to your website, but imagine after 6 months or even a year what your profile will be like in the industry.

There are a few more popular ones and I found the biggest to be www.ezinearticles.com But have a look at lost of others too because they may be a niche directory for sports or business etc. If you want you can also submit your articles to your favourite websites. I wrote some baby articles and offered them straight to my favourite baby sites, which they now appear on.

I use Twitter and Facebook a lot. These seem to attract the most serious interaction. I also simply contact people via email. Sometimes the old school ways – work the best.

4. Don’t Buy Any Unnecessary Information

There are a ton of marketing strategies out there and I’m sure that you have heard them all. You probably see information or offers on the biggest, shiniest, newest marketing strategy that is sure to drive massive traffic to your site right? While I absolutely believe in continual education, I also believe in picking and choosing the information you need and can afford. Stop investing in every infoproduct and every “guru” that comes out, and start with proven and simple strategies like my favorite – article marketing!

5. Let Go Of High-Cost Marketing Strategies

If you are already in a few coaching programs. membership sites, or are running Google ads etc. – you may want to abandon all the tactics that are not working for you. Or that you haven’t gotten to yet. Or that are just out of your budget right now. It’s not necessary when there are cost-free solutions out there that may not work overnight — but absolutely will work for your business.

The article banks want short articles. Brief, in fact! The longest an article should be is 400 words but closer to 300 is better. You can get carried away and end up with an article that is 1000 words or more when discussing a subject in which you are interested and know a lot about. If you wind up with a long wordy article just break it down into three or four short articles.

Use short sentences and short paragraphs. Remember that short attention span that we talked about? Don’t use big words and don’t use run-on sentences. Make your article easy to read.

Excess punctuation shows a lack of respect for the reader. Especially exclamation points – one can be used to show excitement or importance but any more are just plain rude.

Your resource box at the end of the article is the part that is most important to you. Other website owners or E-zine publishers who download and reproduce your article are required to include your resource box. This box needs to contain your full name, your contact information and, most importantly, a link to your website. That link is the little thing that is going to help increase traffic for you.

Submitting Articles: You can find article banks and article repositories on the Internet by simple doing a search for them using your favorite search engine. When you have located them, you must submit your articles according to the guidelines that each site sets forth.

You will likely be told that you can use software that is available to automatically submit your articles to banks and repositories…and in fact, there is such software. But the problem is that most of the larger banks and repositories do not accept automatic submissions. While the software does in fact save you time when submitting to the smaller sites, it doesn’t help you much with the bigger sites.

Yes, submitting articles is time consuming and tedious (not to mention boring) work but it is work that can provide your site with a lot of targeted traffic. Each person who reads an article that you have written will also be exposed to the link to your site. If the article is good and if it provides good information, these people will visit your site. 5. Let Go Of High-Cost Marketing Strategies

This is exactly what I did in less than 1 week to create THREE (3) unique Reports that I needed to give away for Free with my Opt-in box. Now I know I’m using this method to create a unique Information Report, however the very same methodology can be used to create your very own digital book! I taught this method to my students and they went absolutely crazy over this strategy that several of them went out and implemented it right away! Below is my STEP BY STEP process. Remember you can use this for unique Reports or eBooks.

STEP 1: Decide On Topic and Name. Your first Step is to decide on the topic and name for eBook/Special Report. I needed 3 Special Reports. Here are the topics and titles: “Creating A Successful Consulting Business”, “Creating A Successful Coaching Business”, “Creating A Successful Seminar Business”.

Remember my purpose and intent here was to provide general information in the form of a Special Report that would entice someone to opt-in and give me their first name and email address for my Special Report. I’m using this for my blogs. Note that my titles are pretty generic. That is just fine for right now and for the purpose of creation. I will come back and enhance these titles to make them more persuasive later.

STEP 2: Secure Content Writer. You need someone to write these articles for you… don’t try to do everything yourself. And remember it doesn’t have to be perfect…. it just has to BE! Get yourself going by having someone help you. You can always come back and improve later, that’s the easy part. Here are some resources: www.forums.digitalpoint.com – this is where we get our writers, www.craigslist.org – simply search for services or post an ad, www.elance.com – this is a site a lot of top marketers use.

What should you be paying per Content? Answer: $5.00. If it is more than this, keep looking. Also… if you are looking for a lot of articles, consider negotiating a package rate or for a long term relationship. The key here is not to mention that you need a digital book! Because then the price goes up to $1000 or higher! All you want is the information and then YOU will format it into your digital book or unique Information Report.

STEP 3: Create Your Content Headings. Okay, now you need content for your digital book or unique Information Report. The way to do this is to go to your Content writer and give them the topic and a list of articles you want written. Remember these Headings will change later to be your chapter Headings… for now all the Content writer needs to know is that they are writing articles.

The articles will be about 500 words in length. It doesn’t matter what order you put your request in, however the closer to your book outline you can get, the easier it is for the rich Content Content Writer to see the flow and make the info seem continuous. This is the flow you want. This isn’t set in stone and you can always change it later. As a matter of fact I rearranged the chapters to make them make even more sense and to put them into a more logical sequence for my audience.

STEP 4: Format The rich Content. Once you get your articles back from your rich Content Content Writer (average time is 24 hours to 4 days) you are ready to put them together as chapters into your digital book or unique info Report and then format the rich Content. You can implement a few strategies here to increase the rich Content. 1) Request more articles and combine the rich Content into chapters, 2) Add your expert opinion as rich Content and supplement the info, 3) Add case studies to demonstrate the key elements of the rich Content, and 4) Add graphics, charts, tables, testimonials. All of the recommendations should be implemented to create a value and rich Content-rich product that is unique and exclusive to you.

Can you boost your web site traffic today? And I don’t mean necessarily by PPC (pay per click) which can be expensive. Here are some ideas and things you can do for little or no cost and get people visiting your site within a few hours.

Blogging – do you have your own blog? If you don’t then please set one up today for free at www.blogger.com or www.wordpress.com and start getting links to your site. Some links will make traffic, so you have to get the word out about your blog post. What do you do is write a post with keywords related to your topic, and then use ping services to spread the word. Try using www.pingomatic.com and www.pingoat.com that will send your link to lots of blog directories and sites. Web visitors will grow the more posts you make, and how about posting on other peoples blogs so they see your URL and may visit.

Forum posting – there is a forum out there for most subjects and you can usually join for free. To find them just search on Google for your keyword plus the word forum. You can’t blatantly promote in your forum post but if you write sensible posts, offer help and advice you are likely to get people check out your site and this can happen for free on the same day.

Writing articles – some of the article directories review your article before they post it to ensure quality and some don’t, and that means you can get an article with a link to your web site showing within a few hours. Engage in a joint Venture – you can’t always do it in one day, although with the right contacts you can. If you receive a newsletter from another website in your area of expertise then why not see if you can offer something of interest to them and their readers. Free reports are good or something where the list owner can make a commission on any sales. A good tip is to make sure you collect email addresses as well to build your own list at the same time.

But, here’s the gold nugget in all of this and why I’m writing to you today. There are also a lot of article sharing services popping up online. I recently joined one and not only do they send my “unique” articles to about 700 sites each time I submit one, but I also subscribe to the service and get as many unique articles each day as I need. And, you don’t have to write articles if you only want to receive articles.

This service is not costly but is well worth the minor fee I pay monthly. As a result, I’m seeing my links increase in Google daily. It’s the best method I know of to help us all trade links and acquire unique articles. I have no problem posting regularly to all of my sites now. It’s up to me to choose what categories of articles I receive, how many are sent each day and whether or not to publish on my website. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to write good articles! If it’s crap, I don’t post it.

And, one more thing I would also like to point out. There are many sites on the Internet that offer Private Label Rights Articles that can published on your site. Some of them are free or have free starter memberships. You can also take credit for writing these articles yourself. If you like, you can rewrite them too. That’s how I wrote this article. I’m pretty good at writing, but the ideas don’t always come quickly. When I start with a PLR article, the ideas flow easier and I don’t have to create all of the original content.

2. Be sure to make your headline “catchy”. Headlines that are catchy are some of the most- if not THE most important features of your article. Your article will get included on the list of article directories. Usually your headline is displayed with a little snippet underneath it. An effective headline is designed to capture the attention of the people browsing the article directory. This is why it should have some or the most popular keywords in the headline that are related to your subject. It matters not how interesting and informative your article is if it doesn’t capture the reader’s attention. Some people will judge an article just by skimming the headlines. If your headline doesn’t grab their attention, you’ve lost them before you even started.

3. A good introduction should also be considered. This is where people will begin reading your article. It should also be catchy. Try considering asking a burning question for an introduction. This would certainly catch people’s attention. Asking question can also make it easier for you to make an article. It usually develops from one question to another

In part one we discussed the need to have your site indexed by the major search engines and ordered to be found in the search results. In this article we’re going to discuss three ways to have your site indexed, get into the search engines database that are safe and will not get you banned by the search engines.

Have another website (that is already indexed) link to your site

Once a site is indexed or put into the search engines database, the search engine spiders go out to those pages anywhere for once a month to several times a day. You could get a one way link back to your website from a site that is already indexed the search engines will follow that link back to your site and index it. The challenge care is to put your link on the site that is related to what you do. Ideally, the link back to your site is on a site that is already considered an authority in your field. It is not a good idea for a plumber to swap links with a web designer. Speaking of swapping links, try and stay away from reciprocal linking and buying text link ads, more about that at a later date.

Publish an article or press release that has a link to your site

This practice has several great advantages. One is that a lot of those sites that allow you to publish your articles are free and are indexed constantly because the sites are constantly being updated with new content. Watch your article is submitted to one of the sites it may take up to two weeks to go through their editorial process and the review. When sure article is approved, your site can be indexed within a couple of days.

Sign up for paid search with each of the search engines

This is by far the fastest way to get your site indexed. When you signed up for an Adwords account in Google your website will be indexed immediately. It cost very little to set up an account. You can put in just a couple of keywords that you won a bid on and did very little so that your ad does not show up on the first few pages.

A great strategy for getting your website indexed and building links to your page

I would do a combination of first setting up a paid search account with at least the top three search engines Google, yahoo and MSN. Then I would start writing articles 500 to 600 words and start getting them published on as many publishing websites that you can.

Search engine submissions are very important but if done incorrectly can get you banned from the very search engines are trying to get into.
